Walking in love is so important to God that He says you can have everything else, but if you miss this, your ministry is worthless and nothing you are doing will gain you any favor or merit with God. Listen to this:
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
We have the potential to really walk in love though because “the love of God is poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5)
and because
“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3)
May the Lord bless you as you seek with me to understand how we can grow in the love of God. Love is the fruit that God is seeking in our lives. May we not disappoint Him!
