The Wicked Lost Do Not Understand the End Times

The Wicked Lost Do Not Understand the End Times In a previous post ( the Paris terrorist attacks), I shared something the Holy Spirit revealed to me about why the Paris attacks were possible, and that many of the victims did not realize the true spiritual nature of those attacks and therefore did not understand […]

Clash of Kingdoms: How Satan Is Crafting This World to Oppose God

Foreboding tremors of war are being felt with increasing frequency and intensity in this world. The war in the unseen realm is once again about to spill over into the physical world. But who is paying attention? It is reminiscent of the days before WW2, in the late 1930s, when those with perception picked up on the signs that warned them of the war that would soon reach them and the whole world, while others went about their lives largely unconcerned, only to find themselves unprepared when that war engulfed the entire planet. We should learn from this example from history.

Do Not Follow the Crowd: the dangers

“Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong” (Ex. 23:2).

It should be obvious to anyone that we are not to do wrong, but this verse singles out doing wrong by following a crowd. Why? Because it is often so much easier to do wrong when you are in a crowd than when you are alone. For in a crowd there is often a real pressure to do what they do or risk being subject to ridicule, or worse, actual physical attack in the case of political uprisings and mob mentality or riots. Nevertheless, Scripture is clear: Whatever the risks, we are not to go along with the crowd in doing wrong.

Doctor Zhivago and Ecclesiastes

Dr. Zhivago and Ecclesiastes

Passion. That is one word that describes the essence of a book in the Bible, Ecclesiastes, and a film in the world, (1965 film by David Lean). Both use passion for life as a key in teaching about life, and we can learn from both.

The book of Ecclesiastes, for instance, says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might” (Eccl. 9:10 NIV).

Movie Scenes that Moved Me: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Movie Scenes that Moved Me: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

This is the first in a series of some of the movies and scenes from them that have impacted my life and which the Holy Spirit has used to show me things I needed to know and to mold me into the image of Christ. These, then, are not movie reviews in the traditional sense but reviews of how they have been used by God for his good purposes in me. It is my prayer that reading them will do the same for others.

Kings AND Priests

“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5,6)

Jesus not only washed us from our sins in His own blood, but He has also lifted us up to two very important offices. The believer has the potential to operate as BOTH a king and a priest to God. One of the fundamental revelations of the Reformation was ‘the priesthood of all believers’ but I believe the Reformers themselves had a very limited idea of what this means.

Other Religious Options

Many Ways to God or Many Errors in the Name of Religion?

Many people in the west believe “there is something out there” while others affirm with conviction that they know there is no God.

Eastern religions teach that “everything” is God and through meditation we can come to realise our inherent divinity. Those in the Judaeo-Christian traditions believe that the creation is not part of God at all.

Strategic Intercession

All of us are called to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). We are called to pray always and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Yet God is ALSO interested in the quality and effectiveness of our prayer lives.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The most effective prayers then are those that bring a manifestation of God’s will as revealed in the Scriptures to the situations on earth.

God wants none to perish and be lost.
