Leading by example…

Truely Jesus is our example in every way!

Although being God He was prepared to give up all Godly powers and only kept His Godly nature which makes Him God, and become man for us.

Phi 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,
Phi 2:7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
Phi 2:8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

This is the true knowledge of what Christianity is all about, and at the same time He shows us what His nature is.
Do you get that – without any Godly power, this is His – God’s nature.
Now I too understand when He says He is Love – to freely give up all for us.
God truly demonstrates to us by example, how we are to be.

Phi 2:5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

If He is to be our example then it is expected of us to succeed in being like Him, having the nature of God, this is not the same as being equal to God.

Phi 2:6 … did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained. – But in all this He still had the nature of God but without being equal to God.
