Do the Mormon Scriptures endorse Polygamy?

I quote from the official website of the so-called “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” the following verses on the subject of the taking of many wives, found in Doctrines and Covenants 132:61,62

  61
And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood—if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse aanother,
and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they
are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he
cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit
adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.

  62
And if he have aten
virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they
belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified.
It is very interesting to read this chapter of Doctrines and Covenants, because in it, it is represented that God endorses polygamy. He doesn’t merely tolerate it, but He likes it and ordains it.
In this chapter “God” apparently warns Joseph Smith Jr’s first wife, Emma Smith, in the following words:
 54
And I command mine handmaid, Emma Smith, to abide and acleave unto my servant Joseph, and to none else. But if she will not abide this commandment she shall be bdestroyed, saith the Lord; for I am the Lord thy God, and will destroy her if she abide not in my law.

  55
But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph
do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and
multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
Unlike the gospels which leave out the wives as part of the hundred-fold blessing, “God” now seems eager to give Joseph Smith 100 wives if Emma won’t do as Joseph Smith tells her to.
Why is it that so many “prophets” like Mohammed and Joseph Smith always prophesied and ordained lots of sex and women for their founders? It seems highly suspect to me.
It is a matter of historical record that Joseph Smith took other men’s wives as well as additional young virgins to satisfy his conception of “the will of God”. Now why did he do this, since D & C 132 specify certain rules concerning the taking of additional wives. To repeat:
  61
And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood—if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse aanother,
and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they
are virgins
, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he
cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit
adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.
Folks, the wives of other men are NOT VIRGINS, they have vowed to other men, and whichever way you look at it, Joseph Smith Jr. must have been an adulterer and a fraud.
Don’t take the risk of basing your eternal salvation on the teachings of a man with such a moral character. Jesus warned that false prophets would come in his name AND DECEIVE MANY, and Joseph Smith fits that mold of a false prophet by any objective standard. Do not be led astray by following such corrupt and corruptible teachings. If you allow it, and do not repent, you will surely lose your soul forever.
