There was a Christian lady that had to do a lot of traveling for her business. She did a lot of flying to get to her meetings. However, flying made her a bit nervous, so she always took her Bible along with her to read as it helped relax her on the long flights.

One time, she was sitting next to a man. When he saw her pull out her Bible, he gave a little chuckle and smirk and went back to what he was doing.

After awhile he turned to her and asked, “You don’t really believe all that stuff in there do you?”

The lady replied, “Of course I do. It is the Bible.”

He said, “Well, what about that guy that was swallowed by that whale?”

She replied, “Oh, Jonah. Yes, I believe that. It is in the Bible.”

He asked, “Well, how do you suppose he survived all that time inside the whale?”

The lady said, “Well, I don’t really know. I guess when I get to heaven, I will ask him.”

“What if he isn’t in heaven?” the man asked sarcastically.

“Then you can ask him,” replied the lady.

Papa God we thank you for today and for Jesus and for the Holy Spirit. We thank you and praise your Holy name; we worship you Lord. We thank you for eternal life, for eternal identity, and our inheritance in Christ. We are so grateful and thankful that you allow us to come together like this to partner with you today.

We thank you that you made us joint heirs with Christ; that we are a chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a blessed people; that we may be covered in your precious blood and cleansed and forgiven from all our sins and iniquities through Jesus.

We can now come together to be of one accord; to be able to learn more of your ways and have intimacy with you. You are so full of mercy, grace, and love towards us, that your love endures forever; that you are so long suffering and patient with us. Help us Lord in our unbelief to believe and choose your blessings and walk out of the devil’s curses.

Help us now that we can put on the mindset of Christ and according to John 14:12 greater things shall we do as you the Holy Spirit direct our steps. That we can watch and pray always; that we may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and that we can stand before you and one day hear “Well done good and faithful servant.”

We invite you Holy Spirit to come now and teach us and take us over. We ask that blessings overtake us and chase us down in Jesus of Nazareth’s name. Amen.

After you cast out an unclean spirit the old programs it had set up in you are still there. The good news is those old responses and memes and memories can be re-worked and new positive ones will over power the old ones as you decide to take your thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ.  New thoughts grow over the old ones.

2 Corinthians 10:5

We have over 70,000 thoughts a day on average. That is some work but of course just as learning an instrument as you practice it you will improve. Faith without works is dead.

Keep in mind at PVC they teach 80% of all sickness and disease are spiritually rooted, meaning it starts in a thought. The research I did with Linda Lange in our new book What Was I Thinking, shows it is higher. We stated it’s 87% which leaves only 13% to diet and genetics. One brain researcher I know stated it is 95%.

We covered a lot of this a while back in the teachings about how ‘our imaginations’ work. The devil is trying to get you to imagine things his way. However, Papa God wants you to use your imagination in a godly way so that you can do John 14:12 “This and greater things shall you do.”

Some of you need to take your peace back and understand these symptoms are really lying to you most of the time at least 87%- 95% of the time. The symptoms are just trying to get you back into entertaining a spirit of fear which then releases loads of toxic chemicals in your body to bring about sickness and disease. Maybe you need to find something that makes you laugh; laughter will help you heal up. It’s a good medicine.

Research is showing a positive link between laughter and healthy function of blood vessels. Laughter causes the inner lining of blood vessels, the endothelium, to dilate or expand to increase blood flow.

Drs. Michael Miller (University of Maryland) and William Fry (Stanford), theorize that beta-endorphin like compounds released by the hypothalamus activate receptors on the endothelial surface to release nitric oxide, thereby resulting in dilation of vessels. Other cardio protective properties of nitric oxide include reduction of inflammation and decreased platelet aggregation.

Many of you have been given great insights here and at PVC. It’s time to reach out and help others be restored; the Bible tells us that will cause your own healing to come forth speedily.

Isaiah 58 talks about the true fast we have been called to; a fasted life of holiness. Papa God will be able to answer your prayers without violating who He is. How can a Holy God bless you in your sins?

Isaiah 58:8 ^“Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.”

I’d like to take a quick moment to review Papa God’s perfect will vs. His permissive will. Throughout the Bible it clearly defines the direction for our lives. When we apply them to our lives, we are in His perfect will, thereby resulting in dwelling in the promises of God, entering into His rest and His protection.

All those blessings we read about in places like Deuteronomy 28 will overtake us. Permissive will is when we make choices that are not in line with scriptures, and there is always some sort of negative consequences attached to that.

Sometimes people feel like God has abandoned them, but He hasn’t. They have abandoned His Word somehow, somewhere. Confusion comes out of the “permissive will” teachings and lets us remember that God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

 Permissive will is simply when people don’t want to do what the Bible says to do!  Then the devil and his demons probably laugh at us.

They make all kinds of excuses what the Word says, pulling verses out of context and trying to justify doing what they want to do and they become stuck. How do we help restore others and get them unstuck?

We have to take the Word for what it says, and just do it. James 1:22 ^“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” The bottom line here is that people just don’t always want do what they should, and that is to love and forgive everyone no matter what they have done to you. That is not condoning bad behavior it is simply obeying the Bible’s commandments.

Matthew 22:37-40 ^“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.                 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.                                                                       40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

As we have already established this is Jesus summing up the 10 commandments into two rules; love God and love everyone else.

The Bible says that we are to be “perfect” even as our Father in Heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

We need to define “perfect.” That means to be completely conformed to God’s law.  His law says to be perfect is to love. We won’t do everything right, that is why we have a savior, but we can choose to love. It is an act of our will. That is God’s perfect will for you, to love.

From my perspective, permissive will is an excuse not to take responsibility for what the Bible says to do. To somehow even blame God for the outcome of the wrong choices we make. Papa God has created us and given us free will, and based on our will, determines the outcome. Truth is not determined by your feelings; either it is true, or it isn’t. There is no real in-between. Like the Word says, let your yea be yea and your nay be nay, yea or nay; otherwise, we get into trouble.

 Matthew 5:37 “But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”

Even with pre-destination, meaning God knows everything that will happen; you are still not a robot. You have to choose moment by moment who you will obey. Obey the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of evil.

If you take an honest look around, you will notice that believers and non-believers alike have the same sicknesses, diseases, broken relationships, and business struggles, divorce rates, etc.  The difference is that a believer can apply the Word of God and repent (turn away) from the things that could be causing their problems. It appears many people don’t realize that their sin and iniquities (generational sins) are behind many of the issues messing with their life today. Jeremiah 5:25 says that we prevent good things from happening to us because of our sin and iniquities. Permissive will says, “I don’t really know God’s will, so I’ll just do what I want, and I’ll get away with it because I’m under His grace.”

Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.                                                    12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:                                        13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.”

Deuteronomy 28 tells us the curse comes slowly because the Lord will do everything He can to give you a measure of time to get right with Him. The blessings come quickly as we are a doer of the Word.

Romans 6:12-15 say “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” 

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

This makes it very clear on how to be in His perfect will: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  Your emotions can tell you what your heart is thinking at any given moment. We need to line up with the Word of God, making sure we are in His will for our lives, so that our feelings follow the Gospel truth.

We often hear people use the word “grace” who accepts those modern Bible translations says that grace is simply “unmerited favor”. You are given favor where you don’t merit it; the concept that none of us in the human race deserve to be saved because we are all wretched sinners.  But because of what happened on the cross we are able to enter Heaven.  The Bible says, “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” That means, live every day the best you can, and when you mess up have a heart to heart talk with Papa God in Jesus’ name. Ask for forgiveness, receive that forgiveness, and keep on moving forward.

To put it simply: Grace means God is talking to us, helping us see the truth, and working with us; Mercy: is really time to figure out what He’s saying.

Putting this all together, we can be perfect this side of heaven, when we believe the Word and apply it to our lives.  By loving, forgiving, and confessing, staying clean before our Father in our heart, soul, mind, and spirit. We then have our identity as a true believer.

James 4:8 ^“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

 Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”

The psalmist here is saying there are two wonderful qualities, qualities which are very rare amongst men and women today—the qualities of wisdom and understanding. The psalmist points out that each of these have a moral foundation. The foundation for wisdom is the fear of the Lord, meaning a true reverence for the Lord.

The foundation for understanding is following the Lord’s precepts. So it’s fear of the Lord, expressed in obedience that is the key to true wisdom and true understanding here.

We can observe a distinction between wisdom and understanding verses education and cleverness. There are many educated, clever people who do not appear to have much real wisdom or understanding. Cleverness appears to be a matter of the mind, but wisdom is something that goes much deeper than just being clever. How many people are highly educated and because of that win high political offices or some other important leadership role and in many ways act and do things that make them into a fool. The Bible even says the fool in his heart says there is no God. We have leaders who do not believe the Bible and act the fool. You can watch them everyday on the news.

I heard Derek Prince once talk about an American president who once said that if a man is a thief and uneducated, he may steal a railroad car, but if you educate that man he’ll steal the whole railroad!

Just having cleverness and education are no substitute for the moral foundation of wisdom and understanding which is the fear of the Lord and obedience to His precepts.

If we are a child of God then let us act like one.

 Matthew 10:7-8 “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.                                                         8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

Again this all depends on which vision we believe and follow. When I have chosen to trust the Lord, I have seen people healed and miracles happen—even when they did not have faith for it. Our faith trumps anyone’s unbelief.

Remember the story of the men who let their sick friend down through the roof in Mark 2? It appears it was their faith—not the sick person’s faith—that made him whole! We can have faith for others, if their faith is not where it needs to be. I have prayed for people who were even reluctant to let me pray and the Lord healed or blessed them anyway. Mark 16 says signs and wonders will follow those who believe.  All things are possible with God. It seems someone has to believe for someone to receive.

We do read in Matthew 13:57-58 “And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”

Where Jesus didn’t do many miracles it was because of their unbelief.

We have to see what that really meant. It meant they didn’t believe who Jesus was. He was “that local carpenter man’s son” so their attitude of who Jesus was meant they simply did not bring their sick out to him. Only a few sick people were healed here.

Now keep in mind that Jesus Christ of Nazareth had no failures in anyone He prayed for. There was not one case of someone not being healed because they simply did not have enough faith to be healed as is so often taught in many churches.

The fact is everyone he prayed for was healed even in the garden where he was betrayed when one of Jesus’ followers cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest. Jesus put that man’s ear back on his head and healed him before he was taken to a mock trail and crucified.

Jesus healed everyone who came to Him and He is the same Jesus today. If you are willing to meet the conditions according to the Bible you will be healed; you will be restored because nothing is impossible with God.

Meaning – With God you have something to do. The Lord wants to work WITH you to accomplish this. Your job is to keep the commandments and in this way you love God.

I just happened to find 23 times in the Bible in my study time where it is stated that Jesus “healed them all”, or and he “healed everyone”.

Just hang in here this is important for you to hear and see.

Matthew 4:23 “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”

-Matthew8:14 “And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.                    15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.”

-Matthew 9:35 “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”

Matthew 11:5 “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”

Matthew 12:15 “But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;”

Matthew 14:14 “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”

Matthew 14:34-36 “And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.”

35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.”

Matthew 15:30 “And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:”

Matthew 19:2 “And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.”

Matthew 21:14”And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.”

Mark 1:32-42 ^“And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.

34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.”

Mark 3:10-11 ^“For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.”

Mark 6:5-6 “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. (Jesus spent time trying to teach them because they did not understand who He was so they did not even bring out the sick to Him to be healed).

Mark 5:56 “And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.”

Luke 4:40 “Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.”

Luke 5:15-17 “But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.”

16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”

 Luke 6:17-19 “And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.”

Luke 7:21-23 “And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”

Luke 9:11 “And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.”   

Luke 17:17 “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?”

Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

It simply was not because their unbelief hindered or limited Jesus’ powers that just can not happen. If someone taught you that sorry, they were misinformed. If God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrew 13:8) I rest my case. But wait there’s more if you act now. Not only do you receive the healings but you get the blessings as well. Call now. Angelic operators are standing by. Just get radically saved. Amen?

When we study the lives of God’s people in the Bible and in recent times, we see that that those who manifest God’s power have always disciplined themselves to cast down imaginations that exalt themselves against the Word of God. Notice it does not say cast out here, but cast down.

Your feelings are attached to your thoughts.  I think it’s a problem when people repress or deny their feelings. But behind feelings can be a lying spirit giving you that evil thought. Not every thought you have is your own.

The Word of God is the final authority all the time. Papa God and we are in charge here, not the devil. The devil continually tries to get his ungodly images to be exalted above the Word of God. The moment you bite into his bait, he starts to reel you in like a fish. Did you ever see a fish fight for his life to break the line that hooked him?

If your imagination gets empowered by your faith in the wrong things, that can then become a reality. The word exalt means to magnify, to make something bigger than it is. Too many Christians magnify the devil’s thoughts of defeat, rather than exalting the Word of God. Come on, it’s true, isn’t it?

The first place it all starts is in your mind. Every day there is a war being fought for your imagination, and some people seem to overlook that fact. Each moment you get to decide if you will think like the Lord or think like the devil.

You have to choose; no one can choose for you.

1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

Casting down imaginations involves refusing to accept the devil’s thoughts for you. It’s really up to you; only you can be victorious over the enemy. Jesus is not going make you into a robot to ensure you make the right choices here.

If you are truly saved as we stated earlier we are covered by His grace. Spiritually we are able to take our seats in Heavenly places and have become joint heirs with Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

However, we are still dealing with working out our own salvation daily, while we are still here with fear (reverence), and trembling (Philippians 2:12). And so is laid down the personal responsibility of every professing person calling themselves a Christian for continually reading, understanding, and obeying the gospel.  It is only by the love, grace, and mercy of Papa God that we are saved through Jesus Christ of Nazareth, but he has also given us responsibilities in this process. Suppose someone will not obey the Lord in working out his own salvation. Will God continue to work when you refuse to permit Him to? You have the power to choose what you will do. One who will not use his God given power to work out his own salvation will be held accountable before the Lord.

I certainly do not mean to imply that we are to try to take credit for our own salvation, as Papa God was concerned the Israelites would do in the days of Gideon. Judges 7:2 “And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.”

It is therefore our assignment before Papa God, when we learn that something we are doing violates His law in any way to repent of it and no longer continue to do such things; also, to help teach others this as well. That may require us along the way to denounce doctrines and practices we have in the past held close to our hearts like celebrating Christ-Mass or any of the Pagan holidays like the goddess Easter. If the Bible warns us about following the way of the heathen to not do like they do, it seems like a good idea not to even go down that path.

What if someone has one person somewhere in their life that they simply do not really forgive from their heart, how will they enter into Heaven? The Bible clearly says Papa God can not forgive you if you do not forgive others. What if they appear to be a really good Christian and say all the right things, still we are not their judge. Only the Lord knows and searches our hearts.

Matthew 7 tells us this is a narrow way and many will not enter in because they did not take this matter seriously even if they helped cast demons out in Jesus’ name. There will be those who hear our Lord say depart from me I never knew you who worked iniquity.

It may also require us to disassociate ourselves with some of those who still hold to these “commandments of men”. Matthew 15:9 “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

For by receiving one into our house who does not abide in the doctrine of Christ we share in his evil deeds. 2 John 9-11 “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.                                                           10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:         11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

It would appear then that the Apostle Paul had begun to work out his own salvation earlier in his life. He came to a point when he had to make a decision. Was he going to do what he knew was right or was he going to continue to follow the teachings that he had received earlier in life that he now knew was definitely wrong?

Was he going to admit before Papa God and the world that he had made mistakes here? Obviously the Lord got hold of Paul in a powerful way.  The incident on the road to Damascus certainly got his attention and Brother Ananias who was fearful of dealing with Paul at first obeyed the Lord and went and taught him what he needed to do from there (Acts 9, 22, 26). That must have been a rather difficult time for Paul because he had to make the decision to leave behind the entire world for the Gospel’s sake – no one else could do that for him!

Was Paul now 100% holy then? When he talks about the things he wants to do he is not always doing and the things he does not want to do he finds himself doing because of the sin that dwells with in him (in us)?

It really takes a very courageous person someone who is willing to be bold in the Lord to admit that they have made mistakes and then to make corrections in their life to repent of those things.

Just as it suggests a great deal about one’s character who is willing to risk his own popularity in order to lead another to salvation.

At the end of the day, we are individually accountable to Papa God for searching out and complying with His terms of obtaining the promises.

2 Peter 1:10 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:” 

We have scripture after scripture that indicate that sickness and disease are not from God. Also there is evidence that it is not always necessarily brought on by generational iniquity but that God would be glorified. It seems that many churches believe healing is for today yet their emphasis is almost exclusively faith based. They may be chasing after signs and wonders instead of signs and wonders chasing them.

They seem to often misquote some scriptures to discount generational iniquity as the reason for disease and sicknesses and therefore repentance and sanctification is minimized. People are not getting more holy and many people say they lost their healing that attended a healing line. Forgetting if the devil can put sickness and disease on you he can take them off of you if it serves his perverted objectives to take you off the narrow path of holiness.

John 9:2 “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Not many people catch that in this statement is the acknowledgement, once again, of generational sin re: “this man or his parents.”

John 9:3 “Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

In this statement is the acknowledgement of something that is not often discussed, which is ‘corporate’ sin. Because we know sin came into the world through Adam and Eve. Everyone since has had to deal with it at some level on a day to day basis.

The sin here wasn’t personal, and it isn’t saying it’s generational; it was simply a fact of life that these things can occur on this planet in its present fallen state.

The statement is presented here “who sinned, the man or his parents…” For the man to have sinned he would have had to do it in utero because he was BORN blind. How many babies do you know who can sin in the womb?

Psalm 58:3 “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”  

The idea here is that someone could be born already bent on evil, like a young Adolf Hitler in the making; someone with more evil in them than most with a sinful Adamic inclination.

Jesus here was addressing the thoughts and concepts of the time. Being who He is, He just blows us away with a few words. Some Jews at this time believed pious souls were re-incarnated as a reward, and the wicked were put into eternal prisons to be forever tormented. According to Historians like Josephus some Jews and Asiatic nations believed souls came back into bodies as a penalty for sins committed in a pre-existent state.  They thought physical infirmities were the results of sins before birth.  Like the Hindus who believe things like epilepsy was from poisoning someone or blindness comes from murdering of a mother.

Jesus is saying here, no, that did not happen, (the man did not sin prior to birth) nor did his parents sin. Therefore, by the process of elimination we are left with the one path of reason here for this blind man’s situation, which would be simply that being corporate or the original sin. Personal and family sins are not necessarily the cause of imperfect reproduction then at least in this case.

Satanic power would be the cause here, that we study about in places like Ephesians 2:1-6 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;                                              2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:                         3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.   4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,                                                                      5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)                                           6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

Acts 10:38 again tells us Satan is the one who put diseases on people. Luke 13:16 tells us Satan had bound that women for 18 years that the Lord healed.

The issue of illness being connected to sin had already been dealt with, in places like Matthew 9 where a paralytic man’s friends brought him before Jesus; Matthew 9:2 “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.”

This statement caused quite the stir being that certain scribes considered this a blasphemous statement, only God can forgive sins! To which Jesus replied: “For whether is easier, to say, “thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say; Arise and walk”. Either one is easy to say.

But that ye may know that the son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed and go unto thine house.”
And he arouse and departed to his house.”

If sickness was not due to sin, Jesus would not have initiated this encounter with the words “son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven thee”. When those there who were witnessing this exchange questioned Jesus, he rather blew them away by doing both, because he first forgave the sin(s) and secondly he instructed the man to get up, take his things, and go home.

Always remember this that rebuking all evil stuff is rather futile, if it has a legal right to enter through our own sin or generational iniquities that we have not dealt with yet. That is why we spend so much time teaching first before we minister and pray for someone.

There are certain denominations that use John 9:3 to try to prove that disease is for the glory of God. They do not like it when you point out that Jesus healed the blind man. What was for the glory of God the healing or the disease? Did Jesus interfere with Papa God by healing this man?

Those denominations want to disagree with us that behind disease is a sin issue.

In AMEW it is stated that 80% of all incurable disease has a spiritual issue with corresponding psychological and biological manifestations. In the new book I wrote with Linda Lange, What was I Thinking, we state it’s 87%, although I know a doctor who does brain research who thinks it’s as high as 95%.

However in this Scripture this man was born blind, but it wasn’t because of his sin or his parent’s sin. The Pharisees asked Jesus a very correct theological question because they saw in the Torah that disease in Deuteronomy 28 beginning in verse 15 through verse 66, very clearly says that all manner of diseases or curses are a result of not being a doer of the word. When we are not a doer of the word, we are really in sin because its transgression of God’s commandments.

Now this opens up an area that shows us that sometimes disease is not because of a direct sin issue.

In James 5:14-16 it says if there be any sick among you let them call for the elders of the church and they shall anoint that person with oil and pray the prayer of faith and the prayer of faith shall save the sick.  If they have committed any sins it shall be forgiven. Well how can you be forgiven of any sins unless you deal directly with the Lord?

We read in Scripture where Jesus had just ministered to someone and healed them and then he makes this important statement “… go your way and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you.” John 5:14

We need to step back here and get some perspective and see the big picture. It’s not always just black or white, but there is the possibility that a person’s problems could be because of a genetic defect. It’s possible then that people can have diseases and not be committing the same sins.

Exodus 20:5 tells us the iniquities of the fathers shall be passed on to the third and fourth generation. How many times have we dealt with someone who carries the same problems and diseases their fathers and grandfather had? That’s what doctors are looking at when you fill out those forms about your familie’s history of diseases. But they don’t call them curses do they?

The bastard’s curse is ten generations. Deuteronomy 23:2-3. Again Papa God does not have any bastard children. He is still going to love you even if you get here through some sinful act of iniquities.

Jesus said concerning this man’s blindness that it wasn’t because of his sin or his father’s sin; it is that the glory of God might be manifested through him. That doesn’t mean that the disease was for the glory of God as is often taught in certain evangelical circles because if that were the case then why did Jesus heal him? In this particular case, Jesus healed the man of his blindness. Jesus always healed people, and still does. The glory of God was not the disease but was the healing.

Now this is a very important scripture to study because it indicates we need to stay in balance here. As we are looking at all these scriptures today from Papa God’s instructions to us to the elders anointing the sick with oil, we see there is also a balance needed here.

It is certainly true in many diseases that we see and deal with in ministry most seem to be found through the research we have with roots to diseases; in the AMEW, etc.

Many of those diseases we have the roots for now seem to line up here and give us evidence in all the case histories of peoples lives and in Scripture and in the study of science and medicine. That is how it works.

We see the connection between the way a person thinks, speaks, or acts and specific diseases now. The way people think, speak, or act needs to line up with the Bible. If a person’s thought life is not corrected spiritually and they continue to think, speak, or act in a certain way that is contrary to revealed truth in the word, that is a sin issue. That is trouble brewing.

For example, if the Lord tells us that we are to forgive our brothers and sisters from our hearts and we choose do not obey that commandment, then don’t be surprised if a disease comes because of bitterness and unforgiveness.

Even secular scientists and doctors are now seeing the connection between forgiveness and health and unforgiveness and disease.

I read a secular book recently where they were dealing with a certain healing modality and at the end of the book it said if stress, a modern word for a spirit of fear, is not dealt with there is not much hope of recovery no matter what healing modalities you choose.

Certainly in this scripture John 9:3 Jesus cannot be saying that the man and his parents had never sinned. That would violate Scripture.

1 John 1:8-10 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

I think Jesus is saying here they simply did not commit sins which would have brought this man to be born with blindness.

We can also consider the Pharisees could have been interested in punishing them for any sin indicated here. Still the Lord wants us to search out a matter and learn the truth. Proverbs 25:2 “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”

Sometimes truth can be used as a weapon. Like a religious spirit can do. Truth is truth, but the Bible says the letter of the law kills.                  2 Corinthians 3:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

If you do not speak truth in love you’re just a noisy cymbal crash.

The Lord wants us to walk in love following after His Holy Spirit. We are one union and one body. Ephesians 4 tells us about being fitly joined together because we are members one of another.

I can bring you truth individually and personally. Yet here we are to be a corporate body that we together are called the body of Christ. In that way we are no longer standing alone, but you are standing corporately as if you were a single being.

In Ephesians 4, Christ is the head, but from here on down may not be Christ. The parts of the body may not be exactly as it should be. We could have autoimmune diseases. That’s when the body attacks the body. But the immune system is supposed to attack the enemy and destroy the viruses and the bacteria and destroy the cancer cells. Papa God intended that that part of the body be dedicated to identifying invaders and destroying them. But in disease profiles, the immune system ignores the true enemy and attacks the body parts instead and either eats and destroys them or interferes with their activity.

This is sadly a picture of many places in Christianity today. There a real enemy out there on the loose, an autoimmune disease on the loose. Instead of the body caring one for another, they’re attacking with spirits of accusation and division making, schism and bitterness, and all kinds of goofy political churchy things to cause the body not to be the mirror image of God and reflect the Glory of the Lord.

What we should look like collectively. We have need of individual sanctification and corporate sanctification, but will never have real corporate sanctification until we as individuals get individually sanctified.

The Apostle Paul is not just talking about us as individuals, but the corporate body of Christ which stands as if it were a single individual in the earth.

Ephesians 4:26-32 “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:                                                      27 Neither give place to the devil.                                        28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.                                              29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.                                                     30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.                                                 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:                       32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

We have really two types of anger — righteous indignation. Jesus showed that when He turned the money changer’s tables upside down and said my Father’s house shall be called a house of prayer. Jesus did not just flip his lid here. It took some time to fashion a whip and to come chase those merchants out of the temple.

Anger is wrong when somebody is made a personal victim. There’s where it becomes sin; there are many forms of anger. But, the next thing is be angry and sin not, if you slip into anger as a sinful act. Then what you do with it determines if you truly going to act like a child of God. Because it says let not the sun go down upon your wrath.

That means you may have crossed the line where anger is now sin, but because you are a true believer you are going to forgive from your heart before the sun goes down. Amen?

Let us pray together.

Papa God nothing is impossible for you.  I thank you for hearing my prayers and providing for me, giving me those things I want and those things I am in need of. For causing the sea in front of me to part like you did for the Israelites,  whenever I feel or find myself trapped in a situation, I ask that You bring me and my loved one’s safely through to the other side; while my enemies are not allowed to follow me as I follow after you. Thank you, Lord, for the faith to remove any mountains in my life that need to be cast into the sea that presently stand in front of me however and whenever they appear. I command them to go in Jesus’ name.

Thank you for reminding us and demonstrating to us all the time that you are more then able to take care of all of us. That nothing is impossible with you. May we never forget all your benefits; that if we confess our sins, you will forgive us of all our sins and wash us clean from all unrighteousness. That we can cancel out all the sins and iniquities of our generations all the way back to Adam; that you heal us from all diseases because nothing is impossible to ou Lord and I worship you and praise you now in Jesus Christ of Nazareth’s name. Amen.

Now just receive this. Now, Lord, as one of your representatives I ask that you bless each one here today in every good thing and I take authority over any unclean spirit that would try and hinder their blessings from overtaking them and chasing them down in the all powerful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen and Amen.
