Life is falling apart before it even begins
Please help me. I have been dealing with the sin of sexual imorality. I haven't had sex
but the actions and thoughts that keep coming at me and breaking me are leading me to it. Im only in high school i still have the rest of my life ahead of me I don't want it to end with one mistake. In church i have been having many prophecies and they seem so wonderful and great, but I dotn know if i will ever reach them if i dont get past this problem. It has been going on since the 5th grade!!!! and im sick and tired of
it but no matter what i do i cant keep from looking at images and doing things that i
know i shouldnt be doing. I dont want to hear its normal. Its not normal to be looking at pictures and doing sexual things over and over again. If its not ok with the Lord then its not ok with me. I have prayed prayed prayed time and time after again but
i just cant seem to shake this terrible habbit off. Sometimes im able to stop looking at pornography or masterbaiting for a short period of time BUT THATS NOT ENOUGH. I have been dealing with this since the 5th grade!!! and i dont like it. The devil has knocked me down so many times to the point where i stopped reading my bible then stopped going to church. I feel like all hope is lost but im trying to hang in there with the last bit of faith i have left and im putting it into this paragraph im writing. I was born from my mom and dad having unprotected sex. I know my dad and i talk to him but we dont get along. I dont want to end up the same way my parents did and i dont want my kids to go through what i had to go through. SO PLEASE HELP ME I CANT HOLD ON MUCH LONGER!!

Another who questions the ability to get through the same thing
I dont know if anyone will see this post but i hope that everyone could pray for me because i am so lost.writing this brings tears but i hope that expressing it will help.I think that my desire to be changed might be tainted with selfishness.Im not sure if I will leave god once i am cleansed.I have been fighting my sexual lusts since elementary school.I would really like someone to help me find a place to start with my freedom.

Hopeful. I don't see how you could leave the One who cleanses you, after you are cleansed. For it is only by His power and love and grace that you shall remain cleansed. When He cleanses you, then you will know that it is HE who has done it and not yourself.
To get free of sexual bondage, I strongly recommend Pure Life Ministries They are geared to help you overcome. We will also pray for you in our daily prayer groups (which you are welcome to join - just pm me and I'll get you plugged in!).
There is so much reason to hope. I struggled and fell for years and years with these issues - but now I am FREE! You can be too, and it is God who wants to enable you to be so!

Keep at it, it took me at least a week of crying and praying for Him to do exactly what you are crying and pleading over, to save you and free you. This sin has left you broken, and He will make you whole, completely whole. We're praying for you.

Studies "have shown no differences" in the frequency of clergy sexual abuse "by denomination, region, theology, or institutional structure."
Thus, "the problem of clergy sexual abuse is not just a Catholic issue - the problem extends to Protestant denominations as well."
Penn State professor Philip Jenkens reported that between 2 to 3 percent of Protestant clergy are pedophiles.
His same study reported that less than 1.7 percent of Catholic priests are pedophiles.
There is simply no reason to think that clergy child molesters are solely a Catholic problem.
Insurance companies receive from Protestant churches each year about 260 reports involving allegations of sexual abuse committed against minors.
This is MORE than the annual number of 228 abuse incidents reported against Catholic priests.
That reality is particularly noteworthy because Catholics keep track of even "credible accusations," which Southern Baptists don't even bother to determine or keep records on.

I did not realise that the Protestants were as badly off ,
when it came to child / clergy abuse.
I truly believe that much of the problems with traditional
churches is that they don't want to change , and they don't
give the Holy Spirit a chance.
Frankly , when hard core drug addicts can get delivered
in a span on a few minutes in Evangelical prayer meetings ,
I dont see what prevents the 'clergy' in traditional churches
from getting delivered from these 'activities' of theirs ,
in similar meetings.
I am quite sure that if some of our really anointed Evangelical
preachers went and preached to these undelivered bretheren,
of ours (the clergy in the Catholic and Protestant Churches ),......
more than 50% of them would be delivered.
This instead of hordes of psychologists and researchers ,
producing reams of paper , ......which dont quite solve the problem.
After all Jesus came to set prisoners free , ...right.
Not only , prisoners who are behind iron bars ,........
but prisoners who are into grevious sexual sin ,.....
like these child & women predators and homosexuals
within the church.
Both the Pope , the Archbishop of Canter
bury and their counter
parts in other denominations ,....are more interested in
protecting their organisations , ....than in preaching the
good news of Jesus Christ.
Excuse my saying so , ....but frankly ,
half their minds are dominated by Satan.
We need to pray the Lord , that the Leaders of the Church
both Traditional as well as Contemporary , walk in the way of the Lord

my thoughts on the subject
It is very easy to think that all or most of the problems with paedophiles, child abuse, and homosexuality is mainly in the traditional churches and the simple solution is that they should come to an evangelistic or charismatic church and they could be set free by the power of God. We might think that they don’t want to change, but may be have some responsibility to reaching out to them. Many in traditional churches are not saved, however they are a lot of them as well that live a God fearing live before the Lord Jesus.
Unfortunately these things are happening in charismatic churches just as well, I personally think there is not much difference. We believe in the supernatural but we also need to remember that we worship a holy God. For God is no respect of persons. Last week I watched a television documentary called saving Africa’s witches children. One preacher confessed while being interviewed that he has murdered 120 children whom he believes to be witches(this was all done in the name of Jesus, the gift of prophecy and deliverance) Picture were shown of little children that had there behinds burnt with fire to extract confessions. I was once a member of a church in UK where the Pentecostal pastor was accused of rape and sexual assault by more than 10 women in the church. He went to jail.
So the problem is everywhere
How can we help traditional churches?
Things we can do about it
a. We can pray righteousness be exalted in our nations and holiness to prevail in the church.
b. We can intercede for people that are bound by these sins even if they don’t ask for prayer. God reigns in the affairs of men, personally I have seen many people changed by simply praying for them over a period of time.
c. Being a good example to people in these churches. Many times people turn off Pentecostal, charismatic and Word of faith churches because of all the hype, sin and greed they see. It is only when we get our own house in order that we can minister effectively to the catholic and traditional churches. Jesus said “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
d. Show them love and compassion
e. Pray that they God open their eyes to see truths in his word. God can give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation, just as much as he can give us. The teaching doesn’t necessary need to come through us.
f. Let’s walk in humility towards them. Let’s remember that God does not love us more than them.
g. We also need to be accountable and to hold people who sin to be accountable for their sin. In some churches some people especially charismatic leaders think that they are accountable to no-one for their actions. Gross sin should never be swept under the carpet. We need to stop having a man fearing spirit. The bible guidelines for confronting a church leader of sin as i understand it is found in 1timothy 5v19-20
Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses. 20Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.

It is horrifying to know that some pastors have murdered
children !!!
(Seems no better than the Catholic church of the middle
ages , burning 'witches' at the stake.)

The problem is exactly this...it has became an organization with a splattering of gospel in it.
It seems that in every church denomination things are swept under the rug and sin is not dealt with. Sometimes it is swept under due to the $$$ brought in. Other times the leadership is so charismatic that it over rules the dealing with sin. Sometimes sin is swept under the rug to protect the sinner from gossip ...There are probably many reasons why sin is not dealt with.
I believe that God chastizes those whom He loves. People seem to forget this. With chastizement from the Lord you will go through a time of grief over what you have done but you will also pull closer to the Lord ..There will be times that you feel far from Him but you must continue on....After going through chastizing you will be taught a very valuable lesson and by going through it (remember that the Lord is with you each moment of the chastiment) and you will not return to the sin.

I grew up with the Catholic Church , ....believing that it was
the only true religion in the whole wide world ,
the Church of God Almighty.....;
then I found it was rotten on the inside ,
with all the paedophiles , closet homosexuals
rapist priests and sexually active nuns ,........
Went over to the Evangelicals ,.....who have their own
versions of the same things ,............
with the emphasis on money ,
money and more money ,........
the prosperity gospel , ....
and a dash of fake healings ,....and faked
ressurections ,(Todd Bendley style .......)
all telecast on GodTV , ......
Phew ,..........and now once again , I don't know where to go,
and whom to believe ,...........
I am not asking for a one or two line scripture ,........
but does any one know of a major church denomination ,
which is worth following ,who have their doctrine right
and whom the Lord himself would certify as worthwhile
........preferably one that is present in India.

The question is, which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Did these teachers come into the Church, and lead it astray?
Or did the people want more, than God had to offer?
Either way it happened is irrelevant, because the outcome is the same.

Finding a church

The most important part of our Christian life is being obedient to the Lord and living in purity. This is much more important than church membership or attendance. This is not to say that one should not attend church.
There is no perfect church and as long as there are people in the church, you would probably be able to find in the church. We need to look only to Jesus and not to a preacher, or denomination or even non denomination. This way we won’t be too disappointed if they fall into gross sin or error.
In finding a church my counsel is to ask God to lead you and place you in the church of his choice for you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and he shall direct your paths.
You do seem to have some level of discernment; however I feel that you need to guard against developing a critical spirit. Don’t put your faith in big time preachers, the bible says have faith in God. If there is no good church around you it might mean that you have to stand alone for a while. Also pray that God gives you godly Christian friends that you can have fellowship or pray with.
Sometimes periods when we are alone and have no one to depend on are the best times that God uses to mature, strengthen, correct and refine us. Let this period where you are looking for a church also be one where you behold the beauty of the lord.
I have never been to India, so I can’t personally recommend any church; I would to visit on a missionary trip one day in God’s timing. I have given the website of an English evangelist to India. Finding a Church...
Keep searching for a church. Don't give up and you are not a lost sheep if you do not attend a church. A lost sheep is someone who has given up on God...
I left the AOG after 26 years with them. I also attended one of their colleges. The reason I left was my pastor endorsing things that were not of God and bringing people in that had attended Lakeland so called revival which was nothing more than self being exalted.
I would have never thought that I would ever say no to the AOG but I was very angry for over a year and I had to force myself to attend. Since I have left my church, many others have left my former church and according to Springfield, Missouri (headquarters of AOG) the AOG has lost 50 % of its people in the past several years.....
Another reason I left was the greiving and the limiting of the Holy Spirit. Only certain people were allowed to use their gifts and they had to be in the pastor's little clique. I have had people who still attend this church come to me in tears over the greiving of the Holy Spirit. They know that the Spirit is no longer in this church. Then on the other hand I have had those in leadership met me in stores and not even acknowledge my presence and when I spoke to them in a greeting they looked at me as if I were the devil. My former church is on the road to becoming nothing more than a social club.
I am now attending a non-denominational church that is doing the things that we are suppose to do, pray for the sick, give to missions, do deliverance, think of others more highly than self, witness, preach the gospel, baptize, teach, etc. The atmosphere is so much different and the first time I attended a great peace came over me.
Do not give up my friend for God loves you and He will lead you to the church you are suppose to attend.
Another thing sometimes our church becomes an idol in our life instead Jesus who is suppose to be most important in our life...

Recently he came to my town ,.....
There were a couple of preachers swearing by him,
and several other preachers swearing at him.
One preacher told me that gold dust came into her hands
during his meeting ,.......
and some one else told me that he was a close associate
of Todd Bentley ,.......and took part in the Lakeland "Revival"
and needs to be avoided at all costs ,......

John 8:7 was used as a weapon against a another Christian and not for edification ....
Are we to not alert or warn others about dangers that lurk out there or are we to be silent?
Will Christians be silenced by other Christians by using John 8:7 when they speak out on sin???
All Christians must expose sin for what it is (death and contrary to God) and not be silenced or ridiculed for exposing sin.

You need to put things into a more clear perspective.
From the sound of your words, your desperate. Believe it or not, that is a good place to be.
If this did not bother you, you would really be in trouble.
Psa 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

By a more clear perspective I mean, (define for yourself, the SIN of sexual immorality).
Can you find that as "A" sin in the Bible?
What I'm trying to get across to you is, you are beating yourself up with this problem. Put it into a perspective you can then deal with.
This is the true perspective.
There are no degrees of Sin with God.
All Sin, is a stench in the nostrils of God.
All Sin, requires a death penalty.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to diminish your actions, I'm only trying to get you to understand, you are not unique to sin. Your not the only one that does bad things, but now with the understanding of what I have just said about sin, what makes your sin more heinous than anyone else's sin?
There is a person that is a kleptomaniac, half way through the act of stealing something, they feel guilty, but because of the thrill they derive from this act they can't stop, afterwords they can't approach God again asking for forgiveness, because they are addicted, knowing they will do it again, plus they have asked so many times in the past.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Now, after everything that has been said, we come to the question.

Dear Journey. You are right. Sin is not normal it is abnormal. It brings forth all the fruits you are dealing with.
I want to commend you for keeping yourself from sinning with another person. That is a big step. I have family and friends who know who I am on this board, but I am here to encourage you and to tell you the truth. YOU CAN BE FREE! Thankfully I although I had exposure to pornography, I was able to keep myself from getting into it and hooked by it. However, the sin of masturbation plagued me from my teen years into adulthood before I finally became free.
This may seem a strange question, but have you been baptized with water and in the Holy Spirit? We need God's power to overcome. Sometimes I would get stuck with the feelings of, "I'm not good enough to ask God to forgive me again," or, "I am too unclean for God to want anything to do with me."
These are lies. Jesus came to set the captives free. He came for you Journey, to set you free. You are not there yet, but you are closer to being there, than you ever have been. Your desperation is a sign of it.
