Of course we should be concerned about information-gathering by top-heavy Government. However, even if the United States becomes some fascist totalitarian dictatorship, that in itself will be no indication that ours is the final generation - because other empires have risen and fallen - and yet the world has gone on. "Newspaper Exegesis" isn't a good enough hermeneutic to conclude things that the Bible wasn't intending to tell us, viz. the day and the hour of Christ's return.
Government Surveillance
The question is: at what point will the government seek to persecute believers? At that point, you might want to consider throwing away your mobile phone, quitting the internet and leaving your home forever. If we are going to be active for Christ, the government will know if they care to know. So don't be fearful. Here we don't have an enduring city. The poor blighters who are serving the devil only have maximum 10 or 20 years to enjoy ANYTHING. We, on the other hand, are receiving a kingdom which cannot fail.

This could possibly something that God does, and not us. Without reading into the context and into it more throughout Scripture, I cannot tell you. However, if you want to do a study on it here are some tips. Read it in context, read the whole chapter and book. Put it together with other Scriptures and passages and work it into the rest of the Bible. Then you will see what it is and what it means. If you do this you may also find out whether it was a custom of the early church or whether it is something that we never did. Maybe it has something to do with the first or second resurrections in Revelation.
I'll leave it to you to search if you feel led to.

As you are aware there are a great many lists showing contradictions in the Qu'ran (just Google "contradictions in the Qu'ran"), in a like way there are many Muslim sites which parade lists of contradictions they see in the Bible.

Arguing these things stimulates the mind but does not satisfy the heart. I became a Christian, not because I understood every part of the bible but because the Bible contains the Revelation of God's only Begotten Son, Jesus!
For surely without Jesus, I could not grasp any part of the Bible; without Jesus I found myself separated from God, always talking to God but never experiencing God working and speaking within my spirit.
All mankind is steeped in sin and because of our sin, we are prevented from knowing God spiritually in a personal and direct way. Jesus has by his sacrifice on the Cross paid the full price for this sin. Those who believe that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God and cleave to his sacrifice on the Cross are reborn clean and free, becoming true children of God.
Those who walk with Jesus are free Shak, free to worship and experience God through each day and night.
Shak, no matter how well composed a sacred book proves to be; whether it contains errors or not, without the message of "Jesus Crucified for my sins" for me it has to be worthless- for I remain dead, doing evil and praying futilely.

In reading your post, rightly or wrongly, I get the impression you have not personally taken the time to read the Bible on your own. It is easy to get a verse here and there and jump to the conclusion there are errors. This is like someone taking your words and telling you what you mean and then getting angry at you because they refuse to let you explain what you were really saying.
Coming from a muslim background, I can easily see how you have mistaken many of these verses. For example, you write: "the holy bible it says "a

Have you ever repeated yourself Shak? This is a simple restatement of what was done and is furthered with the statement the animals that had been made, were now brought before Adam.

You bring up an excellent topic. Good and Evil. How did they begin and how God views it. God created all things very good. That included man's ability to choose. If we choose Him, He will hear us and we will find Him, If we reject Him, when the course of our sin catches up with us, God says He will leave us to reap the fruit of our labors and will not hear us in that day.
Today is the day of salvation. If we seek Him now, before it is too late, He will be found of us. I beg you brother to seek Him with a sincere heart. We must not call Him a liar while holding to our very limited understanding of His Word.

If you read the passages in their proper order, it helps. God tries our hearts, and because He tries our hearts, He knows our hearts. Again, if you have children, you learn as you watch them develop. You see how they respond to circumstances and you know their hearts. The Lord knew the hearts of the men being chosen for service because they had given their lives to Jesus and had forsaken the false gods of their day. He knows your heart too, my brother, and He knows if you are seeking to find Him, or seeking to hide Him from others. I do not know which it is, and perhaps you do not either, but HE does, and He loves you.

It appears that you have taken points from someone else and have not examined the scriptures for yourself. Nowhere in the passage does it say adultery is allowed. Also, this is Moses speaking and there is no reference telling Moses this is how to handle the circumstance.

The Bible teaches God does not dwell in temples made with hands. It is clear that the Lord desires to live in your heart and mine. Notice this passage for what it says. God does not say "I will dwell in this temple." God says He has "chosen this place for a place of sacrifice," and, "my eyes will be open, and my ears attent unto the prayers that are prayed in this place."
It is easier to ask a question than to answer one. Briefly on the next points. Jacob wrestled with a man, and proclaimed he had seen God face to face. Sometimes the Bible as an historical record is stating what was said or done, but not saying it is accurate to what actually happened.
The question about the historical age of Ahaziah is a good one Shak. Because I do not have an answer for it right now, at this moment. Looks like a simple clerical error with no bearing on how I should live as a child of the God of love who has created the heavens and earth.

Its hard in that state; even to a point of suicide somtetimes..But i rebuke such toughts in the name of Jesus CHRIST AMEN...Listen bro....There are so many scriptures out there but all cant be true cause they all contradict each other. The bible is a combination of the Jewish Torah(Old testament) and the Life and teachings of Jesus(New testament). This is the only book which has accurate prophesies and the meaning of our existance. What am I to do
Michael is right. The 91st Psalm can be used to claim protection from danger. There are many, many testimonies of people who have used it and found great protection in times of physical danger.
You must have the internet access, or you couldn't be finding this site! So I would also suggest you look up everything on the internet you can find about the 91'st Psalm.
(This should not be used as a substitute for actually reading the Psalm for yourself!)
But it can be an aid and help build your faith when you read testimonies of other people who have been in danger and were protected by the Lord through his holy word.
How to keep faith while going through hell
You need to call upon Jesus daily for salvation and meditate on God's Word in your spare time and while you are on duty. You can't afford to join your friends in any ungodly activities.
You are obviously in a horrendous situation and I don't want to lecture you at all about it. Just put your hope in Jesus. Call out to Him! Remember that all the evil that ANY men do IS NOT THE WORK OF GOD - but the work of men led by evil spirits. Read Psalm 91, go into God's presence and believe it. Whatever takes you away from closeness to God's presence, turn away from it. You don't really know for sure if you will come back in one piece unless for God's protection, therefore live for God. Who cares what anyone else thinks? They can't save you on the Day of Judgment.

I am have been spending time reading many things on this site. I am a Camerounian in a family of four, I don't believe in purgatory but don't know how to dissuade my mom, brothers and sisters from believing that it exixts and that souls can be saved after the fist death (the flesh on earth.Each time I try to bring up the topic so as to make them understand the realities of hell, it always ends up in them saying it is because I moved from catholism that I am saying that. They stand firm on the belief that after someone is dead, those alive can pray for his/her soul and the person can be saved. Please help me make them understand that this is not true.

My brother Billo had a mental retardation, the doc he says he ain't gonna live past 30. Everyday me and my family pray for Billo, we also thank the lord for each day we are gifted with HIM. A couple weeks ago we took Billo out for a walk and a miracle happened! He talked to me, he talked to me as if he were a normal being, he spoke to me he said, "Praise the lord Dalton! praise the lord and God bless you and momma and everyone who has prayed for me for I am saved!" My brother Billo did not recover from his mental retardation, it was nothing Billo did, our good lord cured my brother Billo! He is saved! PRAISE HIM THE ALLMIGHTY!!
What's wrong with being Muslim?
Why haven't any of the great televangelist who raise millions of dollars to go preach to Muslims all over the world respond to General Powell's question, What's wrong with being Muslim? Why is it that the lukewarm church in America sees nothing wrong with being Muslim? If nothing is wrong with being Muslim or Hindu or Buddust then we should leave them alone and not try to convert them to Christ.
Why we don't attack Islam directly
Perhaps most prominent evangelists don't reply directly to the question "What's wrong with being muslim?" because to answer it would promote religious strife and still not help precious muslim people find faith in Christ.
Of course there is plenty of things wrong with being muslim from our point of view - for one thing, being a muslim guarantees that you will REJECT SALVATION by REJECTING the only Lamb of God (the Lord Jesus Christ) who takes away the sins of the world and delivers us from the WRATH TO COME. In short, being a muslim guarantees you a place in eternal HELL, unless you repent and renounce it.
One thing is we as Christians tend to run away from painful realities and not live as if they are true, because the consequences of embracing truth CAN BE PAINFUL at times in many ways.
But just telling muslims that their religion is bad won't help. It just offends them. They have to see it themselves, and it usually happens as a result of their own reflections and the work of God's Spirit, not because you or I try to ram the unpalatable truth down their collective esophaguses (throats).
The awful truth about Islam and its origins is documented
at websites like http://prophetofdoom.net/ but if you take a look at the comments you will find not a lot of muslims appreciate these things being pointed out.
If you meet a big angry dog with a bone in its mouth and you want to get the dog to drop the bone, what would you do? Would you try to yank the bone out of the dog's mouth by force? You'd probably get bitten yourself. All you have to do is throw down on the ground a big juicy hunk of meat. The dog will then drop the bone of its own accord and go for the meat.
In the same way, we present Jesus Christ who is at once Savior from sin, Divine Friend, Lord of Creation, Healer, Deliverer from Demons and much more. If muslims are favored through the preaching and demonstration of Christ Jesus to understand who Jesus is, they will of their own accord drop the poisonous bone of Islam, with all its hate, violence and deceit, and embrace the love of God. But just telling them that the belief system they and their loved ones cherish is ALL WRONG will probably get a counterproductive reaction.
Lets face it, as Christians we can demonstrate that Jesus is alive, that He does miracles and so on. We have the goods. We need to be wise in the way we do spiritual warfare. We don't have to seek to be antagonistic. There is enough scope for people to take offense with the Gospel without us also attacking people's beliefs directly.

God is moving through the hearts and words of many on this site. It has been a wonderful experience for me, I have encountered wonderful testimonies that have filled my soul with such a love for Our lord and Father. I always wondered what people meant when they say 'I am in love with the Lord', and 'my Father in heaven is my real father'. I knew God was great, really great but now I can feel something more, much more than I ever expected. I now know what that feels like, and it's great and the wonderful thing is it's there for all who wish to seek it. Some of the beautiful testimonies and words on here have helped bring me closer to God and have given me upliftment in times of need. The information and help and prayer shared between brothers and sisters is truely wonderful. I have had miracles happen though the love and blessings of the Lord. The other day, my son woke up around Midnight with a bad fever and about loosing his breath by coughing continually.My wife got scared and kept asking me what to do, I told her don't do nothing. When I realised the situation about deteriorated,I laid my hand on him for about a minute or so and prayed.I can tell you Jesus is the same today and forever.Before i finished praying and rebuked that fever along with that bad cough , my son fell asleep and all diseases were gone. I was astonished to see Jesus uses a sinner like me.
Jesus is real, by his stripes my son got healed.
