Roman catholicism

Is the Roman Catholic Church the one true church founded by Jesus Christ?

The simple answer is that Jesus Christ founded the church which began at Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost and continued in the lives of those who truly belonged to Him and put their faith in Him, no matter what their relationship was to any particular leaders in the visible church structure.

Sadly, institutional church leaders transformed the expression of Christianity from what it was in the days of the apostles - a family of royal priests who knew God personally, to a kind of hierarchical religious institution which came to dominate the people of God and wrote the history books of  read more »

Does the Roman Catholic Church represent the true Christian faith?

"Let it be known to you all ... by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead ... This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:10-12)

"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all." (1 Timothy 2:5,6). read more »

Does the Church Speak for God?

Some people believe that their church speaks for God - that if the church has spoken, God has spoken. Others reject organised religion totally and trust more in their own inner spirituality for guidance. How can we know what God is really saying? In this article I give my own perspective on some of the very important questions people must look at if they seek to find God's will in the midst of the spiritual confusion that exists today.

Does the Church Speak for God?

By God, I mean the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. If atheists are right, the question itself is foolish. read more »

Kings AND Priests

"To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 1:5,6)

Jesus not only washed us from our sins in His own blood, but He has also lifted us up to two very important offices. The believer has the potential to operate as BOTH a king and a priest to God. One of the fundamental revelations of the Reformation was 'the priesthood of all believers' but I believe the Reformers themselves had a very limited idea of what this means. read more »

My Experience with a Mystical Priest

David Gray shares his experience with a mystical priest who was channeling a Padre Pio spirit.

In April 2002, my aunt invited me to meet with a mystical Catholic priest from India with whom she had been consulting for help with relationships and other problems. She told me that she believed this priest had some supernatural power to foresee the future and to identify problem areas in people’s lives. I decided to go because I was rather depressed at the time and my faith in Christ was not yet very strong. read more »

Ignatius - Bishop of Antioch - Alleged writer of many False Roman Catholic Doctrines

If you want to find the origins of some of the extra-biblical doctrines and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, you ought to check out the alleged writings of good 'ole "Saint" Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch. Recent popes have emphasized the importance of the writings of St Ignatius. He is seen as a kind of bridge between the Apostles and the Roman Catholic church. The integrity therefore of this "bridge" ought to be carefully evaluated BEFORE you entrust your eternal soul to it. read more »

Dealing with Roman Catholicism

Roman Catholics who believe the doctrines of their church authorities believe that it is impossible to have a saving relationship with Christ without the Sacraments of their Church - such as the Mass, Penance etc. True or false?

If Roman Catholics truly believe that God's grace only comes through their rituals administered by their priests with "Holy Orders" then are they preaching another gospel? And if they believe the wafer they administer is fully Jesus Christ, are they preaching another Jesus? read more »

Other Religious Options

Many Ways to God or Many Errors in the Name of Religion?

Many people in the west believe "there is something out there" while others affirm with conviction that they know there is no God.

Eastern religions teach that "everything" is God and through meditation we can come to realise our inherent divinity. Those in the Judaeo-Christian traditions believe that the creation is not part of God at all.  read more »
