Deliverance from divorce

I got married in 1994 according to civil and tradition. I was blessed with four daughters.

Due to conflict and differences which could not be solved we ended up divorcing in 2007 in a Court of Law, even though we continued to stay in the same house. During 2007 while busy in divorce process I became born again by believing in Lord Jesus Christ and I became spiritually thirsty and hungry. I came across a verse saying “blessed are those hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled”. I prayed God in Jesus name for wisdom in all my troubles.

I read Romans 6 and 8 about mortifying deeds of flesh by the Spirit.

I found the following verses which helped me to put to death deeds of flesh in me(that is adultery and many other sins involving my divorce):

Luke 16:18
1 Corinthians 7:10-24
Mark 10:11-12

The I knew I do not need to re-marry, but to obey scripture and go back to my wife. That’s what I deed a year after I divorced and I became married again to the same wife.

Now at least I understand Galatians 5:16 to live by the Spirit. Now only the word of God have a final say on everything I do. I copmletely reject human tradition handed to me by my ancestors.

As I am speaking we have been blessed with a baby boy.

I am still continuing studying the word so that I can help others in similar or worse situation.

I conclude by praying in Lord. Jesus name that the this testimony help many. I also pray that bless this website as it take light to the nations. Thank you Lord in Jesus name. Amen.

  1. Matshepo says:

Prayers can change things. May we as we know the truth that God said it shall sets us free, honour marriages and pray that, may all God revisit the marriage institution

  2. It is so worrying how many of the couples end in divorce. One is wondering if there is something that can be done to remedy the condition?

    • Glenis Goldsmith says:

Hi Matshepo, I believe it is because they are not looking to Jesus Christ, as the author and finisher of their faith and also He is a restorer of relationships, a God of reconciliation. God bless you.

  3. Some people take marriage for granted. My husband get involved in an affair with a girl who was very close to mr in 2012. He left me and the child to stay with her. Later he filled for divorce and I never contested fearing that God is never pleased with divorce, for Godbtreasures marriage. He completed a divorce case and never even considered his own son ever since yet he knee that I am not working. Do I need to go through deliverance after all these?

    • Marilena Fackerell says:

You need emotional healing not deliverance, ask a pastor locally to pray for you, I am sorry to hear what has happened to you.

  4. “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. ” (1 Corinthians 7:20).

Our love must not be cold, but must endure every hardship we face. We need to endure without complaining, rejoicing always in the Lord.

The body of Christ is attacked by moment of error. Divorce and remarriage is increasing daily, with pastors wanting to be acceptable to the congregation. They are afraid top teach the truth. Matthew 18: 22 Lord Jesus command believers to forgive others’ offenses. This is important especially in marriages. “For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. ” (James 1:20).

A person who rush to file for divorce only does so because of a hardened heart and a sinful pride, a rebellion to God’s commands.  If Jesus was willing to suffer for us, even unto death at Calvary, then why can’t we endure the hardships of marriage and suffer as our Lord did?  10. “….. be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. ” (Revelation 2:10).

“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: ” (1 Peter 2:21).

I like circumstances because they give me the opportunity to do the word of God. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ” (James 1:22).

Finally I say: “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).

  5. childofjesus says:

Praise God for restoring you marriage..and for the blessing of a child in your family..May you continue your walk with Lord Jesus Christ in victory !!
