Evil spirits entice people with sinful temptations. When yielded to, temptation result in corruption and eventual domination by evil powers.

As well as this, we could consider the false gods, philosophies and religious movements with which people are led astray.

As well as this, there are other spirits which work to bring destruction to people’s lives in different ways.

This article seeks to list many of these evil powers. It cannot be exhaustive.

Sin can be divided into three categories: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. (1 John 2:16). To love these things is to love the world, and to love the world is to love these things. We are warned: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in Him” (1 John 2:15).

The lust of the flesh has to do with giving oneself over to the desires of the body, being ruled by bodily desires. Included here are things like drunkenness, sexual sin,
