Sin Is A Choice

Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? 2 Samuel 12:9

To despise is to look down on with contempt or to regard as negligible or worthless. Despise is the very heart of sin. To despise is to be aware of what God’s Word says but willfully reject it.

However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.” 2 Samuel 12:14

There is a cost to every sin. Sin is a choice. You can break the unholy alliance of temptation & sin by rejecting temptation. Temptation arrives first and sin follows when one accepts temptation.

When God’s redeemed willfully choose to walk in disobediance it defames the Father’s name & makes the enemies of the Lord show contempt. {verse 14}

Against You, You only, have I sinned & done this evil in Your sight– That You may be found just when You speak ,& blameless when You Judge…Psalm 51:4

All sin is in front of God..There is no hiding your sin from God. True repentance accepts that God’s judgement is just.

So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.”
And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die..2 Samuel 12:13
Forgiveness is immediate in relationship to repentance. Repentance first & forgiveness follows quickly. Repentance is joined completely with forgiveness. They cannot be seperated.

Then David comforted Bathsheba {after death of first-born son}, his wife & went & lay with her. So she bore him a son, & he called him Solomon. And the Lord loved him. 2 Samuel 12:24

Grace is shown upon David & grace shines brightly on anyone who is forgiven..The person is now justified because of God’s grace.

Much more than now been justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him..Romans 5:9

Justified –just as if I have never sinned & the justified are not disqualified!..

Sin is a choice …Believe the Word of God for it alone shall show you a path away from sin
