What Does It Mean to Use the Lord’s Name in Vain?

For many years it’s been taught that to use the Lord’s name in vain means to swear with His name. And yes, that is not appropriate & should not be done in a Christian’s life but there’s a lot more to it than this. The Lord stated in His 10 commandments not to use the Lord’s name in vain for an even greater reason – don’t use His name for your own selfish reasons.

Self -Pity: Something to Be Overcome By Christ’s Power

I want to address a growing issue in the Church that is holding individuals back from growing into their full maturity in the Lord & thus hindering others from attaining the true Gospel of Jesus. The issue is self-pity. Below I am posting an excellent article that everyone should take the chance to read through (rather lengthy but definitely worth the time to read) so that they can examine themselves in this area.

The Mature Nature is Stripped of the Carnal – Full Examination Unto God

This is an important time right now in which the Lord is sifting between the wheat & the tares or the sheep & the goats. This brings me to the Scripture, “Examine & test & evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith & showing the proper fruits of it. Test & prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize & know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you-unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial & rejected?” (Amp. Version).

I have felt led by the Holy Spirit to post this link to a word that has been recently shared with me. I know others are in similar situations and are wondering if they’re hearing correctly. I know the Lord will lead those that He has been speaking to about this, to it, and they’ll be blessed by it. I have moved several times myself and am preparing to move again soon, when He says. Don’t go by the sight of your eyes, but by His Spirit, in faith…let Him reveal to you who He is, by your obedience.

Judgment Is Not Bad

I have seen recently a lot of discussion about God’s judgments. We all have to remember that God the Father is the Judge of all things, and when we hear the word ‘judgment’ it doesn’t mean something bad. In the eyes of the Lord His judgments are what He uses to bring forth His kingdom. Now, the Lord may allow for certain circumstances to occur that may appear to our natural minds or the world as being ‘bad,’ but the Lord is doing and performing these decisions based on what HE’S trying to accomplish for His kingdom (Rom. 8:28).
