Death and Darkness, Life and Light: The Separation

A common accusation leveled against God and the Christian faith is that a loving God would not send people to hell. God replies in Zechariah:
Shadows of Darkness Now Falling on Beasts and Men You are not an animal. The worldview of evolution lies when it says that you are.
There is a rather intriguing and mysterious passage in the Bible found in the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 11, in which Paul seeks to correct some of the abuses that were happening in relation to the Lord's supper. Paul's main concern seems to be that this celebration of the Lord's Supper should be done in a way pleasing to God. This is because Jesus Christ Himself commanded it to be done. And Paul writes:
I was surprised recently when the Holy Spirit drew my attention to the words “the bottomless pit”–surprised because I had not been thinking of anything remotely connected to this phrase. Why had he brought it to my mind? I knew this description was used in the book of Revelation, so I opened my Bible and concordance and began looking into the matter. This is what I found.
THE BOOMERANG GOD
“The Lord is famous for the way he punishes the wicked in their own snares!” (Ps. 9:16 TLB).
Yes, very famous indeed. It is a hallmark of God. When you see someone receive on his own head the very evil he foisted on someone else, it is immediately recognizable as God’s retribution upon that evildoer: He gets what he dished out. That is the boomerang justice of God. Here are a couple of ways it is described in the Bible:
“As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head” (Ob. 15).
There is a very interesting passage in Luke 12:42-48 concerning servants of God and what Jesus will do to them when He returns.
The gospel promises release from the guilt of sin along with the power to escape sin's tyranny and live a clean life.
The gospel does not promise that you can keep on sinning wilfully and God will not see it.
In the Book of Revelation, it becomes clear that Jesus is fully aware of the sins and weaknesses of people in His churches, as well as their strengths.
Let's look at the seven churches one by one.
The Church in Ephesus
America was hit on 9-11. Was this a judgment from God? Have a look at this video, and how America’s leaders take up the words of the Bible which express the sentiment of defiant humanism, rather than humble repentance before God. Hear this video to the end, it is amazing.
It was with terrible sadness that I learned yesterday of another huge earthquake hitting the New Zealand city of Christchurch. It has only been 2 months since we left that city and we have many dear friends there. The first earthquake last year had no fatalities but this one looks to have many dead and injured.
I want to share a few things about our time in Christchurch that left me quite disturbed and concerned when we left. But I want to be sensitive because of the terrible sadness associated with this new quake.
