Benefits of Fasting and Prayer
For those who inquire as to whether fasting and
prayer may be profitable for them, I want to explain in
detail how fasting and prayer can benefit a Christian’s
life. There are many misunderstandings concerning
fasting and prayer; therefore, many do not fully
understand Its true meaning and relationship to the
Christian life.
Practical faith is rooted and grounded in the Scriptures. The Bible shows us the basic pattern for serving God and teaches us the proper approach to fasting.
FASTING AND PRAYER IN THE OLD TESTAMENT
God's chosen people, Israel, always had a special relationship with God. Israel's history is exemplary of men today. In times of ease God is often ignored or forsaken, but in times of distress and difficulty we earnestly seek His face.
Christianity is a religion of personal experiences. It is a spiritual movement, not a lot of theories or "isms." It is a movement of life, truth, the Holy Spirit, and love. The important thing is to have a personal, real experience. Through the right relationship with God we can recognize and understand the Lord's will. There are many ways in which we can experience God's blessings. I recommend fasting and prayer as the most powerful of these.
Throughout church history many people have
experienced miraculous power through fasting and
prayer. Today, Christians who come before God in
fasting and prayer may find the same power others
have known in the past.
I thank God for the opportunity to proclaim His
living Word and to be a small part of His great program. I am humbly grateful for the moving of His
Spirit. As I share my experiences of the great power of God available through fasting and prayer, I desire that others may know joy and power as they kneel before the Master.

I found a copy of this old presumably out-of-print book by Dr Ja Shil Choi, the late mother-in-law of Dr Yonggi Cho, who is the pastor of the massive church in Seoul, Korea – Yoido Full Gospel Church. Dr Choi was the founder of Prayer Mountain in Korea.
This book deals with the power of God that may be released through fasting and prayer. It contains many wonderful testimonies. I saw no copyright notice on it, so I have taken the liberty of publishing it here on this site to inspire the current generation with wisdom from a great woman of God.

During church services in my Baptist church, my pastor would always say while preaching that someone who is on the right path with the lord, and has a true spiritual relationship with the lord will always be ready for death at any given moment and won’t be afraid.
