Why praise saints?

I know the majority of us say that we are Christians but I still want to ask this.
From what I believe(I could be completely wrong).Catholics praise and look to saints for strength even though they say that they follow God.
Isn’t it wrong to praise the people rather than God.
If e them all their gifts and abilities and tollowed God.
How come Catholics look to saints rather than God?

What do YOU think?

    We are to look to God, and not to men, but this is what the Catholic Church teaches. They (and most other churches) are corrupt in parts of what they believe and do. If you go to church, find one that teaches love, not prosperity. And no man-made rules, traditions, and doctrines. Jesus said “Love God, and love one another”. Paul said we are to have no other burdens placed on us except this and
    Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
    29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

    Yet churches practice tithing (we are to give from a cheerful heart, not as an obligation). Tithing is an OT Law, and we don’t live under the Laws, we live under grace. Yes, we are to give, but if one is living hand to mouth, it isn’t a cheerful heart that would give 10% of their income, it would be a burden. Give 1%, give 59%….just give with joy.

    Church membership…it was never even intimated in the bible. If I, as a believer (or even a non-believer), go to a church I had never been to before, I should be able to expect the same treatment as anyone who is a regular there. We are members of the Body of Christ…no other membership required.

    Communion and pot-luck lunches/dinners…it’s a no-no. 1 Cor 11
    20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.
    21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
    22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

    There are MANY more things God has shown me to draw me out of the church, but these few are enough to show you for now. When I start thinking I want to have a “church family” again, God tells me “I didn’t bring you out of there for you to go back in.” The bible tells us that there will be wolves in sheeps clothing within the church. As much as I love wolves, I’m not going to crawl into a den with them 🙂 I won’t compromise His Truth, His Way, to be a part of an organization. The bible tells us not to “forsake the gathering of yourselves together”, but it doesn’t mean we must gather 1-3 times a week in a particular building. Jesus said “Where 2 or 3 are gathered in My name, there am I in the midst.” We can fellowhip and praise God anywhere, with 2 or more, and He will be there.

    There was a report on the news the other night about pastors and priests who don’t even believe in God anymore, but since they aren’t trained to do anything else, they remain in the church…teaching the blind sheep. There is no way that someone who doesn’t believe in God can teach someone to fully trust in Him. Amen?

    Be careful.
