Praise God for men like – – – Ed Freeman

You’re a 19 year old kid.

You’re critically wounded and dying in the Saw Grass of the Ia Drang Valley.

November 11, 1965.

That day LZ – X -Ray, is the hottest LZ in Vietnam.

Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 – 1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from within less 100 feet away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the Medi.-Vac helicopters to stop coming in.

You’re lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you’re not getting out. Your family is 12,000 miles away, 1/2 way around the world, and your never going to see them again.

As reality starts to fade in and out, you know this is your last day on earth!

Then, over the noise of the battle, you faintly hear that all to familiar sound of
a helicopter. Looking up you see an unarmed Huey. But … this can’t be real there are no Medi-Vac markings on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you.

He’s not Medi-Vac ( it’s not his job,) but he’s bringing his Huey down into the middle of that deadly machine gun fire.

Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come in, He comes anyway!!

As he drops his Huey in and sits there in the midst of Hell on Earth, they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he Takes you up and away through the gunfire, out of the Valley of Death, to the waiting Doctors and Nurses.

And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!

He took you, and about 30 more of your buddies out who would never have gotten out.

“Medal of Honor Recipient, ED FREEMAN”, died ( Sept.- 02 – 2009 )
A man that was willing to lay down his life for his friends?
“NO” strangers!

May God Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn’t hear about the passing of this Hero did you?
Of course you didn’t, it was more important that there was no end to the comments made about another persons death, someone that wore 1 white glove.

Medal of Honor Winner
Ed Freeman
age 80,
Boise , Idaho.

The American Media, ought to be ashamed for neglecting to mention this man and his deeds for his fellow man.
While making such a big deal about another persons death.
