Think Like God, Act like God – part 2

As you establish your life with God in prayer and meditate upon His Word, you spirit will start to come alive, or be quickened to God’s Word. As you go about your day, His Word will come to your mind as you encounter different situations. I use these opportunities to pray the Word. In this way we become aligned with God and we start to think like God and talk like God.

This is the beginning of how to ‘walk in the Spirit’ every day. Our opinions and thoughts start to ‘give way’ to God and His Word as He is elevated to first place in our thinking and talking. At first it will feel contrary to our feelings, but after a time, our feelings will come in line with God and His Word. Our fruitfulness as Christians is dependant upon us learning to make Christ Lord and bringing our thoughts ‘captive’ to His Word. Isaiah 55:8 “for My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways.”

It’s important to come to God’s Throne of grace with His Word in your mouth! Isaiah 55:10,11

Says, “So shall my Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to me void. But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Talk the answer, not the problem. Allow God’s Word to sink into your mind and heart.

God’s Word is our contact point with Him. The Bible says to put Him in remembrance of His Word by placing a demand upon His ability in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 43:26

God is our source of everything. Remind God of His promise to you. Jeremiah 1:12 says that God watches over His Word to perform it! Our petitions which we present before the Throne of grace must be linked to God’s Word for it to produce results. Prayer is not to be a religious form with no power. It is to be effective and accurate and bring results!

Moses reminded God of His Word in Exodus 32:13 when he said to God, “Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Your servants, to whom Your swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

God responds when He hears His Word spoken in faith by His people in prayer and intercession. Come boldly to the Throne of grace with your petition, but build your petition upon the Word of God.
