1 Peter 2:2, 5, and 9, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ… that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
“Hazel” had been a born-again Christian for many years.
St. Luke 9:23, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
St. Luke 9:62, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
For a while, “Hazel” begged God to take her on a further journey in the Holy Spirit.
St. Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
Psalms 119:1-2, “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.”
Psalms 63:1-8, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.”
“Hazel” had some intentional sinful ways, but was tired of walking dishonorably in the faith.
1 Thessalonians 5:22, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Proverbs 4:23-27, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”
Ephesians 4:22-24 and 30, “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”
Then one day, “Hazel” was awakened in the early morning, from the belief that a voice from within, whom she identifies as being the Holy Spirit, told her to pray in order to prevent unwanted situations.
Ephesians 2:2-7, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
“Hazel” knew that whatever plans God had for her, the Holy Spirit was about to lead her to fulfill them.
St. John 4:20-22 and 23-24, “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; …Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
From that, “Hazel” prayed to God, for the Holy Spirit to help her cease her intentional sins of choices.
Colossians 3:1-4, 8-10, 12-17, and 23-25, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”
After “Hazel” began to walk faithfully in the Lord, she noticed that her own spirit became sensitive to the very sinful things that she previously used to tolerate. Things also appeared different to her, and she believed that her eyes in Him became clearer. It had also became apart of her character to stay prayerful outside of her home too. She often prayed for others who appeared to have dealt with specific issues that she desired to pray to God about. She both silently and secretly done so for strangers on the street who she spotted.
1 Timothy 2:1 and 8, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; I will therefore that men pray every where, …”
“Hazel” eventually realized that for a while, she had been repeatedly wakened throughout the nights and the early mornings. During those hours, her thoughts automatically went to people she knew, some situations, and knowledge for her to know. Afterwards, she prayed about whatever and whoever was on her mind. She believed that her prayers prevent undesirable predicaments for situations and people who she kept in her thoughts and prayers too.
Ephesians 6:10 and 18, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
James 5:16, “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Around the same time, “Hazel” noticed that she had moments when she experienced some disturbances while she both tried to sleep and slept for the night. During those nights and early mornings, she woke up angry, depressed, and argumentive. To her knowledge, she sometimes had negative dreams before she awakened to those unpleasant moods.
“Hazel” had incidences when she believed that she was kept her awake for a few hours, and found it hard to go back to sleep. Neither nobody nor nothing came in her thoughts to pray about, as her mind stayed blank throughout those nights. But whenever she finally was able to go back to sleep, she had nightmares, false and misleading revelations, and mockeries of her present problems. The dreams were back-to-back and nonstop in a row during those single particular nights. She concluded that her peace was disrupted before the day was to begin.
In “Hazel’s” further growth in the Christian faith, whenever she had moments when she believed that the devil tried to harass her and others, she rebuked him in the name of Jesus.
St. Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Whenever needed, “Hazel” prayed for angels to minister to her and others, also in the name of Jesus.
St. Matthew 4:11, “Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”
St. Matthew 18:2-5 and 10, “And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”
Hebrews 1:13-14, “… the angels … Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
Upon “Hazel’s” development in the Lord and growth in the faith, she sought to learn when knowledge and revelations were from His Spirit, her own thoughts, other people’s assumptions, as well as information from what she believed was from the devil.
1 Samuel 18:10, “And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.”
Jeremiah 23:16, 18, 21-22, and 25-27, “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? Who hath marked his word, and heard it? I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, …”
1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-15, “For such as false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; …”
St. John 8:44, “…the devil, …abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
Jeremiah 23:28, “The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully…”
