The Power of Our Thoughts

The Power of Our Thoughts
All of our perceptions and the way we respond to them happen quickly. In fact, our reactions to any stressful situation are initiated during the first few seconds of a stress encounter. We all have to deal with a certain number of them each day in this present world. How we think affects how our bodies handle those encounters because how we think often dictates whether we keep our peace or lose our peace. If we lose our peace and our joy, we are opening a doorway for sickness and disease to enter in. If we learn to develop good habits to help us manage those difficult times we are all going to face now and then, we will help minimize any sickness and disease from entering in.

Isn’t it amazing how powerful words can be? Let’s say someone corrects you about something you said or did, and because you are still dealing with spirits of accusation and rejection, it could cause your day to be ruined if he or she says something that makes you feel bad. That’s what this book is all about—teaching you to stay in peace in every situation that comes your way.
Perhaps you have been falsely accused of something or had a misunderstanding that resulted in something being blown up out of proportion. Often the words spoken will begin to try to torment you, keeping you up at night, or even manifesting in bodily symptoms.
The Scriptures say that what a man thinks in his heart, so he is:

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee (Proverbs 23:7).

What we think does, in fact, matter. We need to understand that our thoughts matter more than we really even completely understand at this time. As research into the brain and how it functions continues, more and more evidence is showing that thousands of chemical changes occur with every single thought, and we really only know about some of them. We need to know that our thoughts will manifest in good or bad actions—and in good or bad health in our bodies.
We are to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ so that we display Christ! As we think Christ-like thoughts in our heart, we become Christ-like.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Does this mean you can use your thoughts to get freed from health, family, and business problems? Yes, it does! John 8:32 says that when you know the truth, you can find freedom.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
