The Perfection Factor

The Perfection Factor

Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. KJV
Php 3:12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus. ERV

“The Perfect” as the bible uses it of men, does not refer to the sinless perfection.

Old testament charaters described as perfect were oviously not sinless ( Gen. 6:9; 1 Ki 15:14; 2 Ki 20:3; 1 Chr 12:38; Job 1:1,8; Ps 37:37)

A lot of Hebrew words are translated as perfect. However, have you ever asked God what he his thoughts are on perfection? His thoughts of perfection usually are defined as either completeness in all details or to reach a goal or acheive a purpose.

There are 3 stages to Perfection

1. Positional Perfection. Which is possessed already by those who have believe in Jesus Christ (Heb. 10:14)

2. Relative Perfection. Which consists of spiritual maturity (Phil. 3:15), especially with those things concerning the aspects of the will of God (Col 4:12), love (1 Jn 4:17-18), holiness (2 Cor 7:1), patience (James 1:4), and every good work (Heb. 13:21).
Matureity is acheived progressively, as it is written in 2 Cor 7:1 “perfecting holiness.” and Gal 3:3 “are ye now being made perfect?”
It’s accomplished through gifts of ministry bestowed “for perfecting of the saints (Eph 4:12).”

3. Ultimate perfection. Perfection in the soul, spirit, body, which Paul denies he has (Phi. 3:12). This will be realized at the time of ressurection of the dead (Phil. 3:11).
We will not gain sinless perfection in this life (1Pet. 1:15-16).

So it’s our choice how we live our lives. God gave us all free will. Do you want to live a life of sorrow or endless failures? Or choose Jesus, then follow the blue prints he left for us to over come tempation? Striving to obtain that Ultimate perfection at the resurrection when Jesus returns. The choice to recieve the things of God depends on the factors you know about him. How much time you spend learning from Jesus threw the holy spirit reading, studying, and listening to scriptures in the bible
