That We May Walk Worthy of the LORD

” that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10)

No one is able to walk (or live) worthy of the LORD (Colossians 1:10) in their own strength. We must depend on the Holy Spirit for this. To be specific, Paul said in verse 9 that he was praying for these people that they would be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding THAT they may walk worthily of the LORD. In order to live worthily of the LORD we are going to need to know what the LORD wants us to do. If we don’t know what the LORD wants, how are we going to live the right way?

Its not just a vague understanding of what the LORD wants that is necessary, either. We need to be FILLED with such knowledge, and WITH ALL WISDOM and SPRITUAL UNDERSTANDING. We need as much input from the Holy Spirit as we can possibly get in order to be able to walk (or live) worthily of the LORD. I hope this creates a spiritual hunger in you as it does in me.
