The Power of Your Words

God has put creative power on the inside of us, and that power is released by speaking words.

Enduring hardship for the Glory of God

I grew up as an only child in a very dysfunctional home. My father was mentally ill and drank to medicate himself. He beat my mother. My mother was obese and a gambling addict. They divorced when I was 4. As a teen and 20 something I turned to alcohol for fun and as a way to escape from the problems in my life – funny, I didn’t consider the heavy drinking a problem. I got involved in the occult and ran with the wrong crowd. I had been to church as a child and heard about Jesus but never really understood anything other than the main fact that Jesus could get me to Heaven.

Are You Lukewarm?

In a previous blog, I likened the kind of relationship God wants to have with each of us to that of a couple just starting their relationship. However, we so often become complacent as the relationship continues. Other things occupy our mind and time, and though we don’t care less for the other person, we do not give the relationship the time we once did. We take for granted our partner knows we care. Today’s divorce rate testifies to the grave error in this way of thinking. Even if you are at this point in your relationship and still surviving, don’t you miss that spark?

Visual aid to those who don’t understand Jesus

I have been trying to post how I try to explain Christ Jesus to those who ask. This is my visual aid: Take a Bottle of dark Cola of any kind and a Clear class of water, the water is to represent Jesus, Clear truthful Pure, light and refreshing. The bottle of Cola is You. Full of sin & darkness nothing can clearly be seen through it the truth of it is it isn’t like water at all.

I was wondering….

I have recently noticed that my family has a problem with cussing & corse jesting. I know to some people this may seem like such a small issue or even a non issue, I find it a very foolish viewpoint to see things like swearing and makeing jokes that are dirty in nature as a non issue or a non problem. It is a stumbling block to many. Once you start seeing it as No big Deal then we become lax in so many other areas. I even find myself sickened to my stomach when I hear people speaking in a dirty way.

We need God in Every part of our lives!

Lately all I see & hear from Kids, TV, & Professed Christians, that we are all gay and that Love should be accepted no matter if its man with man or woman with woman. I just want to clarify what I understand God to say about this subject. I know in Genesis that God could not find a mate for Adam and that Adam was both Male & female So god caused Adam to go into a deep sleep And Took thE woman out of Adam.

Introduction

I remember this day very well because something supernatural happened to me. I had just started opening my Holy Bible to find where to read. Suddenly, my heart caught an invisible fire. It was as if the room temperature had suddenly been increased. Had the house caught fire? No, there was no visible smoke or fire in the room.

I realised that this was the mighty presence of the Holy Spirit.

How to Overcome Temptation

Satan will try to get me away from being filled with the Spirit, by offering in my mind temptations which appeal to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life.

What should I do when I am aware of temptations?

1. Look to Jesus Christ. Try to force the mind off the temptation by looking to the Lord and His Word.

2. Immediately seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

3. Endeavour, if possible, to flee temptation.

4. Pray for the Lord not to lead me into temptation.

5. Use spiritual weapons where possible – speak the Word, praise God etc.
