I’d like to Go and Preach the Word of God

You know, in my 20’s I used to be a preacher of the gospel. Not having the responsibility of family, it was pretty easy to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel”. I did that as much as I was able and I believe the results were fruitful.

Now that I am in my mid 40’s, blessed as I am with a lovely wife and two gorgeous daughters, the same desire to preach and bring the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to people still burns within my heart. But I am not going any more in the same way to the lost and dying. Two Scriptures come to mind:

Confessions for Financial Prosperity

Dear friend,

Should We Make Positive Confessions about Prosperity?

Over the last 25 years that I have been a Christian, I’ve met a lot of different Christian people with a lot of different thoughts and ideas. I’ve been in quite a few different types of churches, with different kinds of teaching emphases. Online also, you will encounter many very sincere and dedicated Christians who believe that anything to do with the “prosperity gospel” is ipso facto HERESY, and so its like “Run away!” I’m sure I’ve also met some real scammers and con-artists who were into “Name-it-and-claim-it” type doctrines.

Be Generous – God is a Giver – Follow God

I was talking yesterday with Rod St Hill of the Christian Heritage College in Brisbane, Australia. He is the Dean of the School of Business there and it really was a pleasure to talk with him.

Handle Money Right, and Hate Mammon if you want to Enter Heaven!

Please read Luke 16:1-14, which is the parable of the Unjust Steward, and some sayings of Jesus on the subject of money and Mammon. I am going to quote from it in this piece, but for your own sake, as this is such an important thing, I encourage you to read the whole thing.

The Danger of Giving to Rich Ministries

“He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.”
Proverbs 22:16

If you are one of the people who has bought into the idea that if you just give “tithes and offerings” to your favorite mega-church and your favorite prosperity preacher you will surely get rich, I need to warn you, on the authority of God’s Word, that you are promised POVERTY and NOT riches by the Word of God. That’s right – he who gives to the rich, WILL SURELY COME TO POVERTY.

Christian TV channels should NOT support false prophets and teachers

As someone who is involved in setting up Christian TV channels, I feel it is important to state that FINANCIAL REALITIES DO NOT TRUMP GOD’S COMMANDS NOT TO BE PARTNERS WITH FALSE PROPHETS/TEACHERS.

In other words, just because a certain preacher can raise a lot of money from people on TV and can pay handsomely for TV time, does not mean that it is God’s will that his or her message be heard on TV.

The influence of Television is Massive. True Christians SHOULD be aiming to get hold of this medium.

The Impending Financial Crisis and its meaning

When I speak about all the great things and miracles of God happening in India, Eastern Europe, Africa and other developing nations, people sometimes ask: “Why don’t these things seem to happen here in Australia?” I am sure people are asking the same questions in America and Western Europe also.

About Tent-Making or Supporting Yourself

We are all royal priests (1 Peter 2:9) and called to some ministry but there are different callings and not everyone is called to major on preaching the Word of God. God is calling many to preach the Word of God to the places where no one has made an impact, but today, as then, many believers prefer to give only to things that benefit themselves and their own spiritual needs.

Invitation to Partner with Us

family

“… remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” (Acts 20:35).

According to God’s Word it is more blessed to give than to receive. When God invites us to give, He is inviting us to be a bigger person. A small person is only concerned about himself, perhaps his family, and those things which directly impact on his own comfort – like the carpet or air-conditioning in his church building or home. A big person however lives for a purpose much bigger than himself.
