Pet Parrots or Eagle Christians?

(Extracted from "I've got You Covered" – by Stuart Gramenz – pg 74,75)

Some church goers have felt more like pet parrots than eagles. As we know, the owners of pet parrots gain great pleasure out of hand-feeding them and showing them to others. As a result of being caged, they are confined in their activities and, because they can't enjoy the natural pleasure of flying, other things are placed in a cage to keep them amused. They are also trained to talk, but can only repeat what their owner teaches them to say.

“I Have my Own Religion” – an Australian excuse for refusing to hear the gospel

I just returned from the local park where I felt to go and give someone the message of the gospel. Honestly, your chances of getting the message through to a total stranger are in my view almost as good as getting it through to a close relative who is gospel resistant. Some people for YEARS won't can't manage to communicate the gospel with the latter. On the other hand, I've met many people who were quite willing to politely listen.

Personal Revival Manual – Catch the Glorious Fire

This book was written by Paul Quadros, a man of God who has been involved in church planting, pastoring and evangelism for many years. He has been a senior elder within the vast New Life Movement International Trust in Mumbai churches. Having known Paul closely and personally I would highly recommend his ministry and writings. He is someone who has demonstrated great love for God, for people, for the church and for lost souls and has a wealth of experience in serving others.

How does God think about evangelism? How do you think about it? Do you agree with God?

Jesus said in John 4:35: “Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! they are ripe for harvest.”

I did some research to see what did this saying mean in the Jewish culture and found the following. After they planted the seed, there was four months between the sowing time and harvest time.

Some people Desperately Want Forgiveness – Who will tell them?

Are you not Evangelizing because you are “not called”?

“‘Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there.

Study or Go – How long should We Wait?

“Do you realise that we are only told one time in the Bible to wait – and again I’m talking New Testament – one time. Jesus said, “You wait in Jerusalem until you receive the promise of My Father. Ain’t that right? Now, someone says, “See we ought to wait! No, no, if you’re going […]

Doing Evangelism like Jesus Christ

I encouraged people from the United World Mission when I worked in Romania as a church planter. They had some excellent materials concerning their vision of “Saturation Church Planting”. Each module builds on the next and has sections on The Church, Christian Character, Prayer, Bible Study Methods, Evangelism.
