Using what you have
So you know that the Lord has called you to serve Him. You know He has anointed you. But you want to know where to start in your ministry and how to see that anointing grow. You may wonder why not everyone who is indwelt by the same Holy Spirit see amazing things happening in their lives.
The points I am going to make in this chapter are so simple that you will wonder why you have been wasting your time up until now. The Bible says in Acts 10:38: …
When the Holy Spirit comes on you, a damp squib, a WlNh-out, will become a stick of dynamite. The impossible Will become possible.
I Samuel 8:4 tells us that Israel wanted a King:
So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a King to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”
Samuel was displeased, that the people did not recognize the LORD as their King.
Dear Friends,
For my baptism, instead of standing up and giving my testimony, I felt God inspire me to put it in the form of a slideshow. The words/saying that came to me was “A picture is worth a thousand words”. I pray that it will inspire and encourage my fellow brothers and sister to hand their lives over to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, in hope that they will let Him guide their lives and shower them with peace, power and prosperity.
This page is designed for Christians. It needs to be recognised that
we all need to grow in every one of the basic areas of Christian life.
The most important thing to the Lord is our heart attitude. Because the
Lord works on each of us individually, we need to follow His leading on
all things. Hopefully this page can be a tool in His hands though for some.
If you lack power in your Christian life, it could be due to a lack
of knowledge, or to a lack of obedience.
WE BELIEVE that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the bestowing of the believer with power to be an effective witness for Christ. This experience is distinct from, and subsequent to, the New Birth; is received by faith, and is accompanied by the manifestation of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, as the initial evidence – Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4,5,8; Acts 2:1-4; 8:15-19; 11:14-17; 19:1-7.
Introduction
WE BELIEVE the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4); a memorial of His sufferings and death (1 Cor 11:26); and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor 11:26), and is enjoined upon all believers “until He comes”. Luke 22:15-20; Matt 26:26-28; Acts 20:7.
Introduction
As we saw in our last lesson, an ordinance is the outward sign of an inward work. We believe Jesus only established two ordinances for us to observe.
WE BELIEVE that baptism, by single immersion, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is enjoined upon all who have repented and have believed in Christ as Saviour and Lord, and that it is symbolic of our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection – Matt. 28:19,20; Acts. 10:47,28; 2:38,39; Rom. 6:4,5; Col. 2:12; Mark 16:16.
Introduction
An ordinance is an outward sign of an inward work. The word ordinance literally means “something commanded and enforced by the proper authority”.
Water baptism is commanded by Christ. This article seeks to show from a biblical perspective What It Is, Who it is For, and seeks to bring a balanced perspective in the light of the confusion that has existed on this issue throughout the history of the church.
