Promises to Abraham and to us
ABRAHAM’S SEED You are a child of Abraham. God’s promises are yours when you start believing them. Go back to the original promise

WE BELIEVE in the everlasting punishment of the wicked (in the sense of eternal torment) who wilfully reject and despise the love of God manifested in the great sacrifice of His only Son upon the cross for their salvation – Matt 25:46; 13:49,50; Luke 12:47,48; 2 Thess 1:8,9; Rom 6:23; Rev 20:11-15.
“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness” – 1 Peter 3:13; Rev Chapters 21 and 22.
Introduction
Hebrews 11, speaks to us about the great faith people, one of which was Abraham. He obeyed God implicitly when asked to move out into something new. The underlying motivation for Abraham’s unwavering trust in God, was an understanding of the topic we will be discussing in this lesson. Abraham had a revelation of “the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God”, v10.
At the time of writing, there is a war on between Israel and Lebanon. A lot of people are suffering – Christians, Moslems and Jews. There is tension between Iran and the USA and it is believed that the conflict could escalate. Apparently a islamic terror plot to blow up some airplanes in mid-air has just been foiled, and security measures are being tightened everywhere. The economies of the world are looking shaky, and fear and anxiety are on the rise.
It is at times like this that many of us long for the return of Christ.
Here are some of the common results of occult involvement and/or failure to honor one’s parents, as compiled by Bill Subritzky of Dove Ministries

God the Father sent Jesus into the world for a reason. The Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.” Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. One demon sensed this when he cried out through a man in the synagogue, “Have you come to destroy us?” (Mark 1).
In order to overcome the devil’s works, Jesus needed to overcome severe temptation. This he did firstly in the wilderness at the end of his 40 day fast. He did it by saying, “It is written” and following it up with a quotation from God’s Word.
“… knowing that you were called for this purpose, that you may inherit a blessing. ” (1 Peter 3:9)
It is really important to God that YOU inherit a blessing! Its not something to be ashamed of or to apologize for. On the contrary, it is central to God’s purpose for your life! The Scriptures declare it, and so when you as one of God’s people are blessed, then God Himself is glorified.
God wants you to be blessed, even in ways you have never known before. We can get more of an idea of God’s purpose when we consider one of the main reasons Jesus died on the cross and suffered for us.
In the evangelical/pentecostal churches there are actually two different versions of gospel being presented by people who would claim they take the Word of God as their authority in faith and practice. I want to draw your attention to the fundamental issue in question here, because it has to do with your ETERNAL SALVATION.
Moody Abraham
Psalms 40:5
Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works, which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward.….if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
I was born and brought up in a small village in South India. My parents named me Moody. Even though my father was a schoolteacher, he spent most of his time preaching to the people about the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. My parents taught me about the love of Jesus Christ and the importance of living a life that is pleasing to Him.
I am not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, because the Spirit of Christ dwells in me. (Romans 8)
In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
God has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)
I am chosen in Him to be holy and without blame before Him in love. (Ephesians 1:4)
In Him I have also obtained an inheritance. (Ephesians 1:11)
