Power over Demons

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).

How to Get Free

FIRST THINGS FIRST!

1. You must be truly born again! This takes place when God’s spirit convinces you of the reality of Jesus Christ and you respond to God, saying in effect, “Yes, I was wrong. I need you as my Savior and I want you as my Lord. I’m deeply sorry for the way I have lived without you. But now, I give my life to you. Come into me, Lord Jesus.” Without the foundation of a true born-again experience all attempts to break free of satanic influence are ultimately doomed.

The Big Lies of Satan

The biggest and most fundamental lie that Satan and his demons promote – both to believers and non-believers alike is this: that there is something more important right now than seeking relationship, intimacy and communion with God through Jesus Christ and the fulness of the Holy Spirit. We could call this lie the lie to promote distraction from relationship with God. If someone persists in an undistracted relationship with God for more than a few days Satan’s losses already will be immense.

How Curses Come and Demons Enter

Curses take root in the same way that demons enter. It may be that in the case of some curses, demons don’t go inside the person, but somehow attach themselves to them anyway. The important thing in either case is to destroy the legal ground through which Satan’s demons get access to afflict, harass and torment people.

Clearing Up Some Misconceptions

First of all, its important to say that the position that a Christian can have a demon in them IS NOT the same as saying a Christian can be possessed by a demon or an unclean spirit. The word “possession” implies ownership. We belong to Jesus, we have been bought with a price, and therefore, no one should be arguing that a Christian can be possessed by demons.

Secondly, the Greek Word “daimonizomai” has been incorrectly translated with the word “possessed” in many Bibles.

Can Christians Have Demons or be under a curse?

What you don't know and don't believe in CAN hurt you.

The Kingdom of God

The central message of Jesus Christ was the message of “the Kingdom of God” or “the Kingdom of Heaven”. This message, when understood, is the most relevant message for the needs of humanity. It is a highly attractive message, and will produce the greatest results of any message one could give. This message must once again become the central theme of preachers and teachers in these last days.

When the message of the Kingdom of God is given correctly, the results will be dramatic, just as they were for our Lord and for the apostles of our Lord.

What Jesus did in Spiritual Warfare

God the Father sent Jesus into the world for a reason. The Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.” Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. One demon sensed this when he cried out through a man in the synagogue, “Have you come to destroy us?” (Mark 1).

In order to overcome the devil’s works, Jesus needed to overcome severe temptation. This he did firstly in the wilderness at the end of his 40 day fast. He did it by saying, “It is written” and following it up with a quotation from God’s Word.

Demon Activities

1. They tempt people to sin, by putting various kinds of
imaginations in the minds of men and women and speaking words of deceit (Genesis 3:1-6). Satan even tempted Jesus, and Jesus revealed to us the way to overcome temptation by using the Word of God (see Matthew 4:1-10).

2. They deceive (2 Corinthians 11:14). They especially lie about God, blaming all the evil on God. Many religious leaders are deceived by Satan. As long as we remain deceived on some important point, Satan’s demons have something they can work with. They can return to it, like rats return to rubbish.

3.

Demons and Fallen Angels

Demons are disembodied spirits that are at work virtually everywhere in the world today. They are evil in nature, and are obedient to Satan, their ruler. In the Bible they are also known as “evil spirits” or “unclean spirits”.
