Salvation to Be Revealed in the Last days #2

Salvation to be revealed in the last days Part#2

Guys this is what I like to tell everybody, the Bible will interpret itself. You do not need a commentary because the Bible will shed a lot of light on the commentaries. Hopefully if you do not know already, this will teach you little bit about how to study the Bible. Turn to 1 John 4:7- Beloved, le us love one another, now that right there will take care of most peoples problems. That means your husband, because your husband is a one another. It means your wife, your x-wife. You know I have preached this before and had people at the end of this call up their x-spouse up and repent to them. I have seen that happen. 7-Let us love one another for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. So how do know God? The one who loves knows God. If you do not walk in love and if you don’t have love then you do not know God, and God is trying to bring us to a place of total perfect love. That is how you know that you know God. Now we have talked about eternal life as knowing God and we saw that if we love we know God. I would recommend to everyone to memorize the book of first John, Turn to 1 John 2:3-5 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. Would it not be good to know that you know Jesus? Well you know if you know Him then you know that you have eternal life, because knowing Him is eternal life. Let me reword that a little. So how do we have assurance that we know God? Well we saw it said to walk in love, and how do we show God we love Him. We keep His commandments. You do not know God if you do not keep His commandments. Well I was taught that I did not have to keep the commandments. Well then somebody is lying in here. Somebody is lying if we do not have to keep the commandments of God. Because this is how we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. Well you say I was taught you don’t have to do that. I wonder just how many people who are still reading this up to this point, where taught that eternal life was not dependent on keeping the commandments of God? I bet probably half the people or even more have been taught that. 4- the one who says I have come to know Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in Him. 5- Whoever keeps His Word, which is what? It’s His commandments. The love of God has truly been perfected. You see right there that keeping His word and walking in love go hand in hand, by this we know we have come to know Him. If we love one another right? Love and keeping His commandments appear to be the same thing so John says whoever keeps them, the love of God has been perfected, and by this we know that we are in Him. Are you guys starting to get the picture what eternal life is. Eternal life is knowing God. Knowing God is walking in the love of God, and how do we know we are walking in love? We keep his commandments! You can not walk in the love of God without obeying God because when you obey God because His commandments are eternal life. Do you see guys how all of this says the same thing? So keeping the commandments is not a matter of legalistic garbage that says I have to do this, this, and this, but it means if you love God and you have received Him and His sayings, then you should automatically want to do this. If you do not want to do it; then you have got a problem. You should want to please your Father. Most children want to please their parents.

Okay then, I have had people come to me and say well, I just can’t believe what you are saying because I know there is no condemnation on me because I am in Christ Jesus. Well I say right back to them are you in Christ, and they say I sure am and then my response is then prove it. Because this scripture tells us how we know when we are in Him. That means if you are walking in the love of God, you are keeping His commandments therefore you are in Him, and is there any condemnation when you are doing that? No! There will not be any condemnation because you are keeping His word! If you are in Christ there is no condemnation, but if you are not in Christ you are going to have condemnation all you, and you will be condemned all the time because your heart will condemn you. What is the purpose of that? It I to get you in Him. It is to get you where you should be. 6- The one who says he abides in Him ought to himself walk in the same manner He walked. In other words we are suppose to begin to walk like Jesus. So you say well man, that sounds impossible. Well for man it is impossible that is why you have to die to the flesh. You know the disciples came to Jesus after He said it was hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, and the disciples asked Him. Who can go to heaven? Jesus replied with man it’s impossible. Brother you can not do it. Jesus made it very difficult, and the way He made it difficult was saying you have got to love me back. It is not enough that I love you and am going to sacrifice My life for you, but you have to love Me back by keeping My words. And when you do I will give you My Spirit and my Spirit will cause you walk in My ways. The Spirit of God working in you will give you the power and the love and the desire to walk in obedience to God. The spirit of the devil working in you will try and get you to go the opposite direction and walk in the obedience of the devil. That is why a house divided can not stand. We have to remove any demonic stuff operating so we can begin to walk like Jesus said to walk. Hopefully everybody is still with me so far.

Now watch this in John 8:54-55; we have been talking about coming to know the Lord by keeping His commandments. Let’s see what Jesus says about it right here in the red. I think that John and first John is very interesting because John wrote both John and 1 John. So there might be a lot of things in John that Jesus said that John restated in 1 John. Lets look and see. 54- Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, He is our God; 55- and you have not come to know Him, or in other words you do not have eternal life. But I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him then I shall be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word. That is the same thing we just read in 1 John. Jesus knows the Father because He keeps His word. Jesus knows the Father the same way we Know the Father; by keeping His Word. Do you see it? You may be saying I do not like that kind of salvation . Guys and gals this is the only salvation I know that works. There is not another one. Any other salvation you might have heard is not true salvation. This is a salvation to be revealed in the last days. This for he most part has not been taught in the churches. Anyone out there agree? Have you ever heard salvation taught quite like this? Am I teaching my theology? I don’t think so. This has come straight out of your Bible. I am just reading the Bible guys. I am just letting Jesus say what He says, but it is so amazing to see how easy it is to just skip over this.

Okay let’s take a look at the definition of not knowing God. Anyone have an idea what that might be? It just might be not keeping His word but lets look in your Bible and see if that is true. John 14:23: Jesus answered and said to him, if anyone loves me, he will keep My Word. Now guys I do not see where that is that complicated to understand. I do not think that is complicated? If you love Me then you will keep My Word. 23-and my Father will love him. Well I here all the time and was there previously myself saying I don’t think God loves me. Well we have been reading again and again now if you keep His Word and it says right here He will love you. So if you are feeling that way then something is not right. If you obey your earthly father then you know he loves you. 23- and My Father will love him, and We will come to Him and make our abode with him. In other words They will abide with you. How do you abide in Christ and He abides in you? It comes right here. It does not come any other way. You can not pray it into existence. 24- he who does not love Me does not keep My Word. It is very simple. This should start to be very simple for you guys to start seeing what eternal life is all about. God did not make this complicated. The problem is we have not wanted to hear it. Jut like he told those Jews in John chapter 8. You do not want to hear. I tell you the truth and you do not want to hear it. For those of you who have never heard this before; I am telling you the truth; Do you want to hear it is the question? This will get rid of your harlot spirits operating in your life. This is why the harlot is running rampant in the churches today. 24- and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father who sent Me. 25- These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. Okay, so the definition of not loving God is not obeying His word.

So lets look at the definition of not knowing God. I am just going down the opposite side of this. 1 John 4:8. I read 1 John 4:7 earlier about being born of God and knowing God. I did not read verse 8 because I was waiting to get down to this. So here is the definition of not knowing God. 8- the one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Are you starting to get the picture that we have to walk in the love of God? That we have to love God in order to keep His commandments, and when you keep His commandments God works His love in you. Well you say how does that work? The word of God causes you to do things that your flesh does not want to do. Most of what the word says your flesh does not want to do it. You will not want to do it. When you obey the word and every time you obey the word your flesh dies. Every time you do something that you do not want to do; your flesh dies, until finally you begin to overcome that particular area in your life. You die to anger, un forgiveness, ect. And when you die to this in the end there is nothing left but the Spirit of God and the love of God. Then you start to walk in the love of God. You can not be perfected in His love without obeying the Word. There is no way. It is impossible. It will not come by osmosis. It does not come by being around somebody else who is doing the Word. It does not come by praying the Word. It comes by obeying the Word. You pray then you obey. That is the way it works, but most people do not want to go down this road because it upsets a lot of folks.

Okay let’s look at the definition of love. I am just using definitions here to teach eternal life. You know what a good definition of love is. It is forgiveness. That is the best definition of love there is. If we could get everybody to walk in forgiveness we would have love all over the place. Forgiveness is where the issue is. Jesus says you are to love your enemies doesn’t He. Now if you have an enemy that means that something is not right there. That means they have probably done something against you or they would not be your enemy. So obviously they are not in agreement with you. They don’t like you. They have done something against you. How can you love your enemy if you can not forgive your enemy. So you have to forgive; that is the essence of love and I will prove it to you here in a minute. Love is keeping the commandments of God.

Turn 1 John 5:1-4- Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. People just throw the word believe out there. It means more than giving mental assent to a fact. Believing Jesus is the Son of God, just the fact is not enough to save you. I am not preaching blasphemy here. Remember those people over in John 8,; they believed didn’t they. Until He went down to the next level and then they wanted to kill Him. Believe is a big word. It means whole heartedly submit everything to. That is what believe means. 1-Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God; and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. In other words if you love the Father, then you are going to love His Kids. If you do not love the children of God then you do not love the Father. You may be saying well I got a lot of God’s kids I do not really like; as a matter of fact I kind of hate some of them. Brother, I am telling you that is not good. 2- By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. How many times have I you read the word know tonight. Jesus and or John right here is always talking about how you know, not how you believe. You see we ought to be able to know if we Love the Lord and our neighbor as our self and therefore if we have eternal life. So how do you know you love the people of God? When you love God and obey His commandments. How does that mean you love the children of God? Because when you keep His commandments it is automatically cause you to do exactly what you are suppose to do towards people. Because His commandments are going to cause you to die, and when you die you are going t prefer another person over you and you are going to love them like you love yourself. 3- For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. You can not have the love of God without keeping the commandments of God, because the commandments of God are designed to kill everything in you that does not look like Jesus. That is the way the gospel works. That is why He says you have to lose your life to save it. How do you lose your life? You lose your life when you do the Word. Do you hear what I am saying? You lose your life when you obey this Word because it kills everything in you. It will kill anger, bitterness, being judgmental, murder, lust, adultery, pornography. Addiction, strife, dissentions, factions, gossiping, pride, idolatry, self righteousness, jealousy, adultery, and harlotry. That is how you kill it. When you get rid of all that stuff then there is not anything left but Jesus. Jesus wants to form himself in us. How does He form Himself in us. He gets rid of everything that does not look like Him. It is like the guy who does sculptures out of stone. You ask him what he is doing and he says he is making a horse. So you ask him how are you doing that and he says I am chipping away everything that does not look like a Horse. What does he have after that? A horse! So what is God doing here. He is chipping away everything in you and I that does not look like Jesus. Do you have some stuff right now that does not look like Jesus? Sure you do, so what is God going to do chip it away. He is going to bring along some heavenly sand paper in your life. Relationships, people, situations, and those things will stir up something that doe not look like Jesus so you can chip it away, and then you have to die. This is the gospel guys, and this is that people do not want to hear.

Now lets look at 1 John 5:3- or this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; His commandments are not burdensome. Are His commandments a burden to you? If they are then you got a problem, because they are not suppose to be a burden to you. Why? Because if you love God you are going to want to please Him. This Bible is not suppose to be a burden. Jesus said to take my yoke upon you for My burden is easy and My burden is light. Jesus said the commandments are not to difficult. Do you know why it’s not? It’s because you love God. 4- For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Let me tell you what faith is guys. Faith is believing that if you obey this Word, then God will raise you from the dead. That is what faith is. When you do what this Word says it will kill you then God will raise you back up.

Now turn to 2 John 1:5-6- Now I ask you lady, not writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have heard from the beginning, that we love one another. 6- And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it. So have you gotten a picture yet of what eternal life really is? It is really not that complicated and for the most part I have read straight out of your Bible. Salvation is a ongoing process of saved and being saved. Flip over to Romans 8:1- there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, which we have just shown you what that meant. 2- For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3- For what the law could not do. Look guys a bunch of dos and don’ts is not going to perfect you, but God did sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, 4- In order that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. In other words you will fulfill the law because we know that the perfect law of love is to love God with all your heart, and your neighbor as yourself. That is it. That is the law. So you fulfill the law when you walk by the Spirit. You do not fulfill the law by trying to keep a bunch of rules. You keep the law by keeping and the commandments of God by walking according to the Spirit? What does that mean? It means the Spirit of God is going to spank you, and tell you what you are doing wrong. It is done the Spirit living inside of you, not by rules written on tablets of stone. The Spirit leading you is going to tell you to do things that is not even on a tablet to help out someone in need. He mat tell you to empty your pocket book to somebody. Do you see that on there? No. Do not focus all your attention on a bunch of rules but focus your attention to having a relationship with God. That is how it all works. Now look at verse 12- Now brethren we are under obligation not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. Brother now here’s the deal, if you walk according to your flesh and try to make your flesh submit to a bunch of rules you will be under condemnation all the time. You will never feel like you are walking right with God, and you will never feel accepted by God. If you don’t die to your own flesh you are going to have nothing but problems in the days ahead, and I will show you why. 13- if you are living according to the flesh you must die. If you walk according to your flesh nature you will die; that means do not go to heaven, do not pass go, do not get out of jail free but It means go straight to hell. Now I am not trying to condemn anybody but I am telling you the truth of this situation here. You have to understand it is not complicated. But you don’t walk by the Spirit you can not fulfill the law. So that means you better get full of the Spirit. It says that even Jesus went into the wilderness full of the Spirit. You know what He did when He was full of the Spirit. He overcame all the temptations of the devil. When you are full of the Spirit you can overcome the temptation. When Jesus came out of the wilderness after overcoming the temptation it says He came out by the Power of the Spirit. We can’t have the Power of the Spirit until we get full of the Spirit, and we can not have the Power of the Spirit until we overcome the temptation of the devil. Then the power comes and signs and wonders will follow you. That is the way it works. For if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Did it say by rules, regulations, or churchianity, which I am not sure is a word, you put to death the deeds of the flesh. Does it say by denominationalism, does it say by charismanism. No! It says if by the Spirit, you are putting to death the deeds of the body you live. That is eternal Life. 14- For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. You want to be a son of God then be led by the Spirit of God and you will become a son of God. What does the Spirit of god lead you to do? Put to death the deeds of the flesh. How does it lead you to put to death the deed of the flesh? It leads you to obey the word of God which leads you to put to death the deeds of the flesh. The Spirit of God is going to tell you; wait a minute, you just said something evil to your wife. Repent. I don’t want to. Okay then, take another lap around the mountain. Live in bondage for another year. I let you live in it for another two ears and see how you like that. I let you live with the frogs, and the fleas, and the flies, and the gnats for a while and see how you like it. I guarantee you He will do it. He will give you a test and you do not pass it and you do not want to do it then take another lap for about another year and see if you can pass the test then and repent. It is a very simple thing, but if your heart does not want to do this then you will not come to this place, and you will think I am a idiot. Those that are being led by the Spirit; these are the sons of God. 15- For you have not received the Spirit of slavery leading to fear again. You no why most people can not do this because they have a spirit of slavery that has never been dealt with in the first place because you where afraid you where going to lose something, or no one taught you the need for deliverance. So because you have not dealt with the stronghold or slavery issue it then is free to make you afraid to die because you are it’s slave. but Paul was telling the people of God here who knew about deliverance from demonic strongholds that they had not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry Abba! Father! 16- The Spirit of God is going to bear witness with your spirit that we are children of God. 17- and if you are children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if we indeed suffer with Him in order that we may be glorified with Him. That means if we suffer in the flesh and cease from sin, which means we put to death the deeds of the flesh that is how you become a heir.

Is this helping anyone? Turn to 2 John 1:7-9 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. You see Jesus Christ is suppose to come in your flesh. He came in the flesh and He wants to come in your flesh, and the deceiver says He can not do that in you. In other words you can not walk according to the Spirit and walk the way Jesus walked. We are suppose to walk Like He walked. It does not mean you are going to be perfect. Turn to 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. We all have sin, but if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. How can Jesus forgive us if we do not sin, but you are not suppose to habitually walk in sin, but if you do mess up then God will forgive you. Okay now back over to 2 John 1-8- Watch yourselves that you might not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. In other words when they teach the word of God, be careful that you do not lose what we taught you because someone will come along and try and steal that from you. Satan will try and come steal it. Remember the sower and the seed? 9-Anyone goes too far and does not abide in the teachings of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in His teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. What teaching of Christ? We have been reading it over and over. Didn’t Jesus say if you keep My commandments then the Father and I will love you and We will both come make Our abode with you, but if you do not abide in that teaching then you won’t have the Father or the Son. 10- If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not gie him a greeting; 11- for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds. That’s scary!

How do you receive love? Do you know how many people I deal with that do not know how to receive love? A whole lot of people. Do you want me to show you why? Turn to Luke 7:37 Jesus has gone to eat at a Pharisees home, and This is the story about the woman who was more than likely a prostitute. I doubt she was a card dealer at the local casino. When she learned that Jesus was reclining at the table of the Pharisees house. She bought a costly bottle of perfume and standing behind Him at His feet weeping she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she kept wiping them with the hair of her head and kissing His feet and anointing them with perfume, and when Pharisee who invited Him saw this. He said to Himself if his man where a prophet, then He would know who and what sort of woman this was touching Him and that she was a sinner. Jesus said to Him, Simon! I have something to say to you, and the Pharisee said say it teacher. A money lender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denari and the other fifty and when they where unable to pay, and he graciously forgave them. You see it takes grace to forgive. There is a good grace teaching. You are saved by grace. He graciously forgave them so which one of them will love him more. I suppose the one whom he forgave more. You’ve judged correctly. He turned to the woman and said. Do you see this woman? I entered your house and you did not give me any water for my feet. She has wet her feet with her tears and has wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but since the time a came in she has kissed my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil but she has anointed my feet with perfume. For this reason I say to you her sins which are many have been forgiven, for she has loved much, but he who has been forgiven little loves little. Well if you don’t eel like you have been forgiven then you won’t love. So you won’t feel forgiven, because you don’t forgive, and if you don’t forgive then God won’t forgive you. So the issue with not feeling the love of God is because you have not forgiven. Because God does not forgive you. Because when you forgive He forgives you. Isn’t that right? But when you keep His commandments the He comes and makes His abode with you. So you will know that. If you do not know that, then you know what you have got? More than likely you have un forgiveness operating in you. You will have un forgiveness towards somebody, somewhere down the line, and you have not dealt with some un forgiveness. Because if you forgive then God forgives you, and if you have been forgiven much then you love much. Just like this woman here. She did not have a problem with un forgiveness or not loving. She was not afraid of rejection from those Pharisees. She went right in there and said to herself I don’t care what anybody else thinks about me, because she knew she had been forgiven. Therefore she loved much and nothing else mattered to her. So when we get to that place in our life then we are going to have the love of God working in us. For she loved much and he who is forgiven little loves little. You will never be able to be forgiven much until you forgive much. Remember the Lord’s prayer, forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. So if you forgive those who sin against you then God forgives you. Why? Because forgiveness and love is the same thing, and you always reap what you sow.

Guys here is what it boils down to; You can not violate the word of God and make it work for you. This Word works, every time. It is just like the law of gravity. Every time you jump off the roof you are going to hit the ground hard. It is a law. He says my law is forever settled. This thing is settled brothers and sisters. You can not change it and you can not get around it. You can not do it any other way than this way, or it will not work for you. It will never work any other way. You can not love much until you know you have been forgiven much. Forgiveness is the way you walk in love towards everyone who wrongs you.

The definition of forgiveness is assuming the debt that somebody owes. You can not cancel a debt without first assuming the debt. Because every debt has to be paid. So if somebody owes you a thousand dollars then it cost you a thousand dollars to assume the debt. So to forgive someone their debt then you would have to pay the debt for them. But it was their fault, but you still pay it. Nobody likes to pay for somebody else’s debt. You may be saying, I should not have to do that. I don’t deserve that. Look guys, all un forgiveness is trying to get what you deserve or what you feel somebody else owes you. So if you want to get what you deserve then God will make sure you get it. It is better to have mercy and forgiveness than to get what you deserve. Because if we want to get what we deserve we will get the payment back, but we will also get the other stuff back that we don’t want. Does this make sense to anyone? So assuming the debt is how we forgive the debt. In Matthew 18 you remember the guy who owed ten thousand talents and the master forgave his debt and assumed it like it was his own. Turn to Isaiah 53. Another thing about assuming the debt; do you know what it looks like? You look like the devil. When you assume the debt you look like the criminal. Nobody likes that! Do you think Jesus like it? Look at Isaiah 53:3- He was despised and forsaken of men, a Man of sorrows acquainted with grief, like one whom we hide our face. Surely our grief He himself bore, and our sorrows He carried yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken and smitten of God and afflicted. In other words when He was on the cross. People said, yeah He deserves that. God did that to Him Because He is guilty, but He paid your debt and my debt. So when you pay the debt you look guilty because you assume the debt. Brothers and sisters it hurts to assume the debt and go to the cross for someone, but that is how Jesus forgave us. In other words it kills you. This is the message of the cross. This is how you walk like Jesus. This is what people do not want to do. I don’t want to look like devil. I don’t want to look guilty. We ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted, but He was pierced through for our transgressions. He was crushed through for our iniquities, the chastening for our well being came upon Him, but by His scourging we are healed. Do you see what it takes to forgive. True forgiveness means you assume it, and you may being saying my goodness, I don’t like that! Well this is the gospel. I don’t know any other way. This is how you become like Jesus, and this is how you have eternal life working in you. This is the straight and narrow path Jesus spoke of that leads to life. The bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, and Paul was speaking I forget the passage right now that the people had not resisted yet to the point of shedding of blood in your striving against sin. In other words, You have to shed blood; it will cost you to forgive. True forgiveness will hurt. I have had to pray for people that had been abused or molested and it killed them to forgive because they had so much hurt and pain, But when they forgave I watched Jesus set them free of the bondage that had been destroying their life. Jesus was oppressed and afflicted and yet He did not open His mouth in His defense. I am going to stop there. I have not quite covered half the information that I have on this subject of salvation to be revealed in the last days, but at least I feel I can stop here and you will have a good understanding. God Bless you all as you put to death the deeds of flesh in your life and choose to be led by the Spirit.
Your friend in Christ

  1. Hmm, I agree with what you are trying to say fully, in that true salvation leads to obeying the commandments of God, loving God and Jesus, living for Jesus, relationship with the Father and the Son, and knowing them. However, I think unintentionally, there is a bit of confusion on how this is accomplished. Yes, by the Spirit. But before the Spirit is able to work these things in you, it is by faith. This is the thing … it is all by faith. By that same faith in which we were rescued by the power of God by faith in Christ, it is that same faith in God that will accomplish what I have said above. The scriptures listed below I think make that clear.

The question is wether that faith is genuine. If it is it will lead to the above. And I believe there is a lot of deception in these days in this
area, with many believing they are saved, but under deception. So just saying a prayer and going on with your life without knowing the Father or the Son and seeking to please them is not salvation. So this does not contradict the scriptures you have used Corey. But genuine faith will not result in this. And genuine faith will not result in staying in the deeds of the flesh, it will result in the deeds of the flesh being put to death in your life and you being conformed to the image of Jesus, through the working of the Spirit. I think that’s where the confusion may come in on the above teaching, is how to accomplish obeying the commandments of God? Just do them … How do you walk in the Spirit and put to death the deeds of the flesh? Just do it … no it is by faith in God, faith in Him for these things. It is by faith … a living and active faith.

‘This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect in the flesh?’

    Galatians 3:5

‘Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith

    Galatians 2:15-16; 19-21

‘We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing a that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified … For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.’

    Galatians 3:11-12

‘But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for the ‘just shall live by faith” ‘Yet the law is not of faith, but the man who does them shall live by them

    Galatians 5:6

‘For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision not uncircumcision avails any thing, but faith working through love’

    Ephesians 2:8-10

‘For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.’

    Colossians 2:6-7

‘As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and build up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.’

Ok whew, I think thats enough scriptures 🙂

So basically yes, true salvation will lead to obeying the commandments of God and living for Him, knowing Him, loving Him, being built up in Him. But in the sight of God no one will be justified by obeying commandments (law), but by their faith (genuine) in Christ. One will not be able to boast about the law to justify you before God because ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.’ (Galatians 3:10).

However it is possible to have a false faith or salvation where it is not a ‘saving faith’ i guess is the best word, where you do not know the Father and the Son in a living and active faith (a faith that produces the desire to please God, produces love for Him and being conformed to be like Jesus), but are decieved to think you will be saved because you said a prayer or ‘believe’ or attend church or a number of other things. Many will say to Him on that day Lord Lord … and He will say He never knew them (Matthew 7:23). So we should test ourselves to see if we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Faith that leads to knowing Him and being in Him.

My intention here has been to bring clarity and dissipate confusion, I hope you would agree with what I’ve said here Corey 🙂

    Corey, please explain yourself here.

Our salvation does not depend on our obedience to God’s commandments. Salvation is given as a FREE gift (Romans 3 & 4). We have to repent which means acknowledge our sins and have a desire or heart attitude to obey God’s commandments(Titus 2:11-14). Then we can receive forgivness for our sins. However, even our repentence (in itself) doesn’t give us salvation. Christ’s death on the Cross alone, His work only brings us salvation. Otherwise you are intimating that we have to work for our salvation. Even our obedience to God after we are saved doesn’t keep our salvation in heaven.

I understand that you cannot truly be saved without desiring to obey God’s Word. However our sin nature keeps us from being perfectly obedient every hour of every day. We still fail and sin. Every time we sin after having repented and accepted Christ we are still washed in the blood of Jesus. There is no condemnation of those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1). Yes we need to turn from that sin and keep short accounts with God you cannot wallow in sin day in day out and not find your heart being hardened once again against the Lord. However, we are still saved and out Eternal Life remains intact during that time of failure to obey God.

If my eternal life/salvation was dependant on my obedience I would be dammed to hell at some time each day. However that is not the case. You need to read the Bible in context as a whole not grasp at one scripture here and there and make a doctrine of it.

This kind of teaching you have put here once again ensalves people to LAW to the bondage of religious teaching. Like the circumcision group tried to do to the Gentiles. You are adding to salvation, gospel plus. It’s not enough Jesus died for your sins on the Cross you have to be totally obedient to God as well. You set up Christians for failure, to be totally crushed by the fact it is impossible for any man/woman to achieve. Only Jesus could lead a sinless, fully obedient to God life for he was born without sin. For the rest of us we need to love God and desire to obey His commands. We do the best we can each day, but God says if we continue in our faith, in His word He will enable us to become more and more able to obey Him.

I’m really down right now. It is affecting I know my ability to be fully obedient to the Lord in some areas where I am weak. Not that I go out of my way to be disobedient. I don’t need to have some one heap guilt on me. I would dearly love to be perfect so as not to dissapoint God and certainly stop being aggravating to my family (I’ve been a bit short with them lately). I will in time get out of this slump, I always do. Even when I do get out of this I will still manage I’m sure to sin somehow, I’m not perfect or sinless. I don’t need to be told wrongly my salvation has been compromised. Otherwise I might just give up and say why bother being a Christian at all I’m obviously not good enough for the Lord.

Please take a good look at what you have posted here and rethink what you are trying to achieve through these posts on Salvation. Because it hasn’t given me HOPE to hang on until Jesus Comes.

Now I’m not making any excuses here for my sin. If you are saying only perfectly obedient people have eternal life well that’s me and many other Christians I know damned to Hell.

I apologize for not responding sooner,

I do not have much time so i will try and make this real brief. Commiting a sin and practicing sin are two totally different subjects here. We are not suppose to practice sin, but in no way does that mean we will not mess up from time to time and sin. Practicing sin is habitual sin. Lets take lying for example. If you have a habitual habit of lying that is practicing sin. It’s like this. Emmit Smith was a very good running back in the NFL for many years. He was known for his sure hands and very rarely fumbled the football in a game. Defenses where always trying to strip the ball away from him in a game and every once in a while they where successful in forcing him to fumble.

Now let me ask you this. Did Emmitt Smith practice fumbling the football? No; he did the exact opposite in practice. They had ball stripping drills for the defense where they would try and strip the ball away from him. Emmitt would practice holding onto the ball at all cost, no matter what. That is what he practiced. He did this for hours and hours every week so when he got into the game he would not fumble. Now did he mess up occasionally and fumble in a real game? Absolutely! Did he fumble on purpose? No way!

If we as Christians are sinning on purpose there is a real problem and salvation is in serious jeopardy. Now I meet people all the time that habitually fall into the same sin over and over like drunkenness, or masturbation, or outburst of anger who are really trying not to do it. They still keep doing it however. That is a demonic issue that requires whole heartedly crying out to God for repentance admitting this sin issue is way to big for you. You can not stop without the Lord stepping in and doing something supernatural for you. That demon of anger is way bigger, way stronger, and way smarter than you are! You need God to intervene for you and drive out that demonic stronghold operating in your life that has enslaved you to a habitual sin and has you in total bondage.

Once repentance has occured then someone can come and addess that demonic stronghold and send that demon to the feet of Jesus for judgment and that demon has to obey you. It may want to fight you every step of the way and it may go kicking and screaming, but we have been given authority to tread over the powers of darkness. Jesus then will judge that demonic stronghold and cast it into the abyss, and guess what. Then you are no longer in bondage to that paticular sin any more in your life. You are set free! Then you no longer will have the torment in your mind telling you that you have to sin in that paticular area.

Does that make sense? I wish I had more time but I have to go now!

God bless you and lead you to overcome all sin that you are in bondage to.
      Corey
