I am new to this site. I have a problem with pride and lack of humility. It is affecting my relationship with my daughter, husband and the rest of my family. I keep falling in to the same trap of cold shouldering and making them feel bad when I am confronted with my problems. I don’t want to lose them, but I keep pushing them away. My Dad did the same to me and my family – still does. I know I need to humble myself and give it to Jesus, and when I do things go alright until the next bump in the road. I need your prayers and advice.

What do YOU think?

  1. michael says:

You are afflicted with a spirit of rejection which you got because of the treatment from your own father. This has affected you emotionally.

First step is to fast and pray and seek God for a revelation of HIS LOVE to you. When you RECEIVE and welcome the love of God in your own heart (which is sometimes easier said than done because the grip that evil can have on our hearts) then you will be able to love and receive your own family with warmth.

In the presence of God you need to verbalize words of forgiveness to your own father and choose to forgive him. Ask God also to help him to change, but your forgiveness of him comes before him changing.

I think pride comes in as a way to deal with the pain of being rejected by those who ought to love you. Prayer and fasting and meditation on God’s word, as well as listening to soft worship music can prepare you to take the steps of forgiving and being forgiven and learning to relate in a warm way to your own family.

You can get deliverance once you have met the conditions. If you are not yet baptized with the Holy Spirit please follow the suggestions on this site which explain it.

Let us know how it goes. God bless you.

As a very young girl (less than 3 years old) my older sisters and I were tossed aside by our parents and adopted by 4 different families. I also had the spirit of rejection on me that caused much havoc in my life. I also thought people were rejecting me due to a very noticible disability but in reality it was my attitude toward them. I would either reject people who got to close to me or do something that would cause them to reject me. After I was saved and was baptized in the Holy Spirit the verses concerning receiving the Spirit of Adoption just leaped out at me. The Bible has a lot to say about God adopting. At times I still have to remind myself when someone rejects me just Who adopted me and what that means. I can cry out Abba Father (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6) and I also use Psalms 27:10..When my mother and father forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me. King David knew alot about rejection and many of his Psalms deal with this subject. And of course our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, knew more about rejection than King David. Remember people can and will reject you but God has promised to never leave you or forsake you Hebrews 13:5…Another translation says God will never forget about you or disappoint you.

    • Thank you for your advice. It really speaks to my heart – I do need a revelation of God’s love for me. I have been seeking that type of love from my husband and it never quite fulfills. I appreciate your input – I really need to get this figured out so I can grow and my family can be free of my manipulation (which is very much like my mother) and continue to grow in the Lord. God Bless, Share
