3. Over five hundred eye-witnesses
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep. After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one untimely born. 1 Cor. 15:3-8
What if five hundred eye-witnesses at one time saw Mohammad walking around alive after he had been dead for three days? I think they would tell the world. They would feel an obligation to let everyone know this. Or if the same thing happened to any of the founders of the world religions what would their followers do? They would tell the world that their leader died and was dead for three days and then God raised him back to life.
Based on the evidence of many reliable and credible witnesses whose testimonies all matched, who would rather die than change their testimony, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is historical fact. And we also know for a fact that every other man in history who claimed to have a message from God is still dead and in the grave. Why didn’t God raise any of them back to life? It’s because they were sinners and not the only begotten Son of God.
