RSS beats up Bible school students

DAVANGERE, KARNATAKA, INDIA :– A group of 30 Hindu radicals from the Rastriya Swayem Sevaks (RSS) organization, attacked 18 Bible school students, who were on an evening walk at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, August 21.

The problems for the students began as they were walking and, suddenly a stranger approached Pastor Ganga Naik, one of the Bible school teachers, and enquired what they are doing in this area.

War looming in the Middle East

AUCKLAND NZ :- A New Zealand born Jewish family is travelling throughout New Zealand, with a mission to raise the awareness of Christians to the Middle East situation.

David and Josie Silver, along with their son Stefan, are speaking at about 40 churches and seminars over the next month, warning that the situation in the Middle East is deteriorating fast.

Both Mr and Mrs Silver are from Auckland.

Christian Girls abducted, forced to convert

Faisalabad, Pakistan – Two Christian girls, little more than children, were kidnapped from their families recently, forcibly converted to Islam and then married off to strangers. Both of the kidnaps took place in Faisalabad, the third largest city in Pakistan, and both were completely ignored by the police.

Hyderabad: A Pastor has been arrested in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh for allegedly creating nuisance in the area. His crime: He has been conducting prayer services at his residence.

Pastor K Moses of Good Shepherd Prayer Fellowship, a resident of IV Phase, Kukatpally Housing Board of Hyderabad, was taken into custody on 19 August 2007 at the instance of one of his neighbours residing in the same building.

PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN :– The Christian residents of the Pakistani city of Peshawar, the provincial capital of North-West Frontier Province, have received letters, asking them to convert to Islam or else face suicide bombing.

Pregnant Evangelical Relief Worker Re-United With her Husband

KABUL :– The kidnapping of an evangelical development worker from Germany in Afghanistan has found a happy ending. Approximately 36 hours after she was taken hostage in Kabul 31-year-old Christina Meier is safe, in good physical and mental condition and re-united with her husband Thomas.

Matthias Floreck, director of the Christian relief and development agency Ora International in Korbach, Germany, described Christina Meier as a “very strong person”.

House Church members beaten by Hindu Extremists in Bangalore

JAKKUR, BANGALORE, INDIA :– A group of 50 Hindu extremists attacked a church that was meeting in a home in Bangalore, India, on Sunday, August 19.

There 30 worshippers in the house church when the thugs burst in and beat up some of the congregation who come from different language groups including Keralites, Tamilian’s and Kannada’s.

This incident took place on 11:30 AM as members as this branch church of the Indian Pentecostal Church of God were meeting. The attackers rushed inside the house, locked up all the doors and bolted them.
