Matthew 8;11-12

It’s about the faith of the centurion Jesus says
– “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with abraham, isaac, and jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

What I am confused about –
1 – Jesus is talking about a feast in heaven?
2 – If they are already in heaven, why are they getting thrown out into…
3 – The place of weeping and gnashing of teeth isn’t hell, it’s hades? right?
4 – Why is this relevant to what the centurion is talking about?

    Hi Joshua

    Mat 8:10
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
    Mat 8:11
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
    Mat 8:12
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus was speaking to the people that were following, not the centurion in verse 10 that He didn’t find his kind of faith in Israel,
then in verse 11 He told them, that there would be a lot of Gentiles that would be gaining the kingdom,
lastly in verse 12 He says the Jewish Nation are the children of the kingdom which will be cast out

Jesus Christ came as the Messiah to the Jews, they did not know who He was, and would finally reject Him.
That is when the kingdom was opened up to the gentiles of the world.
    Paul speaks of this.

Rom 11:15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? (Read the whole chapter for better understanding).

Jesus spoke about the people (Jewish Nation) of that time.

    Mat 23:36
Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
    Mat 23:37
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
    Mat 23:38
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
    Mat 23:39
For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. (Read the whole chapter for better understanding).

Just for clarification, there isn’t any mention of a feast, and you shouldn’t make the assumption that they or anyone was in Heaven, that is a common assumption, but you need to read the scripture in it’s context.
Jesus came to bring the kingdom to the Jews, they rejected Him as their Messiah, the kingdom was then given to the Gentiles, and you can walk in the kingdom today, (IF) you walk in the Spirit.

    Luk 17:21
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.

I hope this helps clarify things for you, be blessed.
