Marriage Supper of the Lamb and The Second Coming

I have been studying rapture to determine it controversy timing. To me the rapture(catching away is of no question,it will really happen).God have provided it in his Book of books, the Bible. While in observation I found there will be marriage supper of the lamb as the verse below shows,

Revelation 19:7-9
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

And after this I see Jesus coming for second advent for Armageddon or “Heaven fowl’s supper of the great God”

Rev 19 from verse 11
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Who are this saint and how do they come to heaven for the marriage supper of the lamb? Your participations are highly appreciated.
Note: Don’t forget to back up what you say with scripture please!!

What do YOU think?

  1. Rev. 21:9&10 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

    • Who is the real bride then? Some say the Church is the bride of Christ. Other says that we (the believers) are the living bride of Christ, and He as the bridegroom will come to take us, yet another say that New Jerusalem is the bride of Christ, which is already in Heaven. In addition to that Saints are at the wedding supper of Christ. Biblically, saints had always been referred to the True Believers of Christ which implies to us.

If we believers are the Bride of Christ then why do we pray to Him, calling ‘Our Father in Heaven’? How can a father and a bridegroom be the same person? Bride means wife so why do we think that God will marry Church, if it is material Church then still it holds no meaning and if you tell we are the living Church, than also it doesn’t apply as I had stated earlier. Well God created human to have fellowship with us, then why do you think God will marry New Jerusalem, as New Jerusalem is shown as a land. How can God marry land and it materials?

      • Dear Anurekha,

The relationship we have with our Lord is many faceted, it has different dimensions to it – just like many of our other relationships. A husband can be your husband, he can be your leader, in some ways he will cover you as your father once did. He will instruct as a teacher, and he will also learn from you as a student. It is no mystery that God can be our Father, in that from Him our life comes and through Him all blessings flow. He is our Husband in that He covers us and protects us as we follow him. He is our Lord as we submit ourselves to his righteous and just commands.

Ephesians 5 shows how our relationships as husbands and wives are a clear physical representation of the spiritual reality of our relationship with God. “The husband is the head of the body, even as Christ is the head of the church.” In context, husbands are told to take the literal example of Christ in laying down his life for the church, and we are to apply it in our physical marriages.

“The Church”, as your note alludes, is a spiritual organism, not a physical organization. God is spirit and he desires those who worship him to worship in spirit and in truth. The Church consists of true believers who may happen to fellowship in different organizations and denominations. God looks at the heart and knows who are his own.

There will always be more questions than answers in this life, because we see through a glass dimly. The New Jerusalem comes down and has specific measurements and dimensions – this is not simply the church. There is more to it than that.

        Blessings and Peace,

  2. evstevemd says:

Thank you sister but I cannot still understand what saints are! Just to add another question that still lingering in my mind: Who are participant in this supper? Why the supper?
Just my questions on subject! Thanks for your response

Tit 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sober

  3. Well, I can’t contribute much to your question. But would surely like to point to some verses in Bible which says of the saints.

Psa 145:10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you!

Dan 8:24 His power shall be great–but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints.

Mat 27:52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised,

Act 9:13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.

Act 9:32 Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.

Act 9:41 And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

Act 26:10 And I did so in Jerusalem. I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority from the chief priests, but when they were put to death I cast my vote against them.

Rom 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Php 4:21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.

Php 4:22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

Rom 16:15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.

1Co 1:2 To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:

1Co 14:33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

Eph 3:8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

2Th 1:10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

All these verses are from ESV version.

If it is enough for you to know who are the saints then it is a pleasure for me. Or in case if you want more reference to this word SAINTS do let me know. I’ll be glad to help you to find it in whichever version you want.

From my part, I think SAINTS refers to the people who are in Christ or say believers of Christ completely dedicated to Him. So of course it is a blessing for them to be at His Marriage Supper. But if all the good people are saints and the wedding gown in said as the righteous deeds of the saints. Then afterall who is wearing that. Who is the bride here?
