I’d like to Go and Preach the Word of God

You know, in my 20’s I used to be a preacher of the gospel. Not having the responsibility of family, it was pretty easy to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel”. I did that as much as I was able and I believe the results were fruitful.

Now that I am in my mid 40’s, blessed as I am with a lovely wife and two gorgeous daughters, the same desire to preach and bring the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to people still burns within my heart. But I am not going any more in the same way to the lost and dying. Two Scriptures come to mind:

Romans 10:14  How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
Romans 10:15  And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, WHO BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!”

and

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  (Matthew 9:36-38)

I regularly get emails from needy missions in Africa and Pakistan especially, people who would love me to come out at my own expense and preach, and give money, and support their projects. I understand that, its just that I can’t do it right now.

Folks, it is no longer possible for me to “send myself” in the financial sense, because I am responsible for the support of a family. God did send me before I believe, and also moved on people to help financially afterwards. It takes a gift of faith, a Word from God, at the very least. God will not send unless the prayers necessary are going to be there.

There has been a huge trend towards outsourcing in the last two decades, and I think we have also outsourced the preaching of the gospel to the lowest bidder for the job.

I’ve done what I can do to reach people by setting up this website and a small Christian TV network.

Please let us pray that God will send out workers into His harvest field. I am available, but if God is not willing at this time to send me, or others like me, maybe its because there is a lack of the prayer Jesus commanded us to pray, and therefore a resulting lack of people willing to give/send. Clearly this requires more than human sympathy, it requires the action of God. I mean to say, I am really thankful for all I have, and for what the LORD has allowed me to do in the past. I have to put all that behind me now for the time being.

Maybe I can tell myself that I am really “called to business” or something like that. I’m sure there will be no lack of people to tell me about Paul and his tents.

Its very hard to get away from the sense of call if you have it. Its hard to get excited about making money through giving people what they want in this natural life. Its a lot easier to succeed if you are passionate about the thing you are doing.

I invite you to build a faith community together with me. Join my social media channels and let’s connect, especially if you want freedom or fullness in Christ.

My Telegram has a ministry channel. On Tiktok I have many videos and new ones regularly.
