Wisdom for Life

Here are some principles for wise living which, IF APPLIED, will help you avoid lots of problems.

  • A truly wise person doesn't think he is so wise that he doesn't need to listen and learn from others.
  • It is wisdom to be diligent in getting the facts - relevant knowledge - before embarking on anything. If you are wrong about the really important things - like how to know God - the accumulation of knowledge of right knowledge on lesser subjects will never make up for it.
  • So get knowledge on anything you are going to do, or say, unless you know God is explicitly telling you to trust Him and you are willing to trust that you have a leading direct from Him.
  • A wise person works hard and is not lazy. You only achieve worthwhile things through work. Don't seek to be rewarded for participating in lazy schemes.
  • A wise person listens much and speaks little. When a wise person speaks, he or she uses words carefully. Words are chosen to help other people, and that means trying to choose words in such a way that the other person will hear what you are saying.
  • True wisdom is to hate evil and respect God. God made this world, and is greater than all. So no matter what kind of plan you come up with to have an advantage without God, it will ultimately be regretted.
  • God is wiser than we are, so we should seek to be humble and really listen to what He is saying to us.

Read the Book of Proverbs for some interesting teaching on wisdom from Solomon, known as the wisest man of his time.

Overcoming Fear - when the living God is with you, you don't need to fear!

How to be Healed through Jesus Christ - you can be healed by Jesus no matter what your religion is!
