Fear

CASE - Mrs J.M, 28 years, Housewife, Hobart.

12 months before consulting me the patient had been gripped by an inexplicable and devastating fear whilst motoring across the Tasman bridge in Hobart. Since that event, she was in no way able to even contemplate driving across any bridge without extreme panic reaction in her body.

She was otherwise a happy mother of three children and had never suffered from nervous disorders.

This phobia not only prevented her free movement to the Eastern shore of town but created a secondary anxiety. Why me?

There was no obvious reason for this psychological storm and Mrs. M. had been in no way involved in the Tasman bridge collapse several years before. Counselling and therapy in these conditions is not only difficult, but highly unrewarding.

What would take months of painstaking desensitization to fear took only ten seconds to treat. She was willing to allow God's power in the Name of Jesus Christ to drive out the fear and usher in peace.

Needless to say, she can now cross any bridge when she comes to it.
