Gifts Of Healings And Miracles

An article by Evangelist Todd Bentley

The bible declares in Mark 16:18 they will lay hands on the sick and they  “will” recover. The bible also declares in Matt 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. In the book of Hebrews 13:8 the bible say’s Jesus Christ the same today, yesterday and forever. If Jesus is the same today as he was two thousand years ago why are all the sick not healed? If God is a God of divine healing and forgiveness is for all, then healing is for all. Why are some healed and still others seem to suffer?

I hope in this article to share with you the difference between miracles and healing, How to war for your healing? And give you hope and encouragement. As you wait with faith and patience you will inherit your promise of healing.

I know many who dispute divine healing because they don’t understand the operation of healings and miracles. Many that have been called to a ministry of healing have pulled back from the gift of God because of discouragement. What happens when you lay hands on the sick and they are not instantly healed? What do you tell them?

First I want to talk about healing. The bible makes a distinction between gifts of healing and miracles because they are different; a healing is progressive and a miracle instant!

In Mark 16:18 the word "will recover" suggests a gradual recovery, they  will "get well". Another word that we see often used in scripture for healing is “therapy” and it is translated the cure or process.

We live in an instant world. I love instant miracles we have witnessed many hundreds if not thousands, but at the same time I thank God for healing. When someone is not healed; I do not tell them “ you never had enough faith” I want to encourage them, it may be the process of healing, or you may need to contend a little bit longer. I know that without faith it is impossible to please God, but if you don’t have enough faith I will let God tell you.

Healing is like a seed. The bible declares in Mark 4:3,4 behold a sower went out to sow. “And it happened, as he sowed that some seed fell by the wayside; the birds of the air came and devoured it. Jesus goes on to explain that the seed is the word of the kingdom and the birds “satan” come to steal away what was sown in man's heart.

Sometimes healing begins in seed form. As the word of the kingdom in healing is preached the healing begins. You can't see it! It is a seed. When you sow a seed you don't dig it up every day to see how it is doing. You trust that as you water that seed with continuing in the word of God and what the bible declares about healing you will receive a harvest of health. Prov 4:20-22 declares: My son give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings {word}. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

When somebody is not healed they can leave a miracle service discouraged, in despair and feeling rejected by God. Where the process of healing may have begun the devil comes and takes the seed of healing and destroys your harvest. I want to encourage you to stay in the message of the word of God concerning divine healing and continue to wait and believe God for the manifestation of your healing, even though you may it not be able to see now. It may be a seed. A mighty miracle has begun.

When somebody is not instantly healed it does not mean that it is not God's will or they did not have enough faith. When Jesus came off of the mount of transfiguration he was met by a man with an epileptic son. The bible goes on to declare that this man had brought his son to the disciples and they could not cure him. If we were to base our theology on the ones who were not instantly healed to support much of the churches unbelief in divine healing. What about when Jesus came he healed him? Was it God will even when the disciples were not successful? Our experience does not change God's will.

The bible declares in Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he who comes to him must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Faith is diligent. It keeps on asking, seeking and knocking until the door is opened. In Luke Ch 18: 1-8 we see the parable of the persistent widow receiving from God because she continued day and night in her request. Sometimes your miracle will take diligence. When someone is not instantly healed in one of our meetings I ask them to come back, again and again and again until they are healed.

The bible declares that these three remain faith, hope and love, many died not receiving the promise. We contend for our breakthrough and healing till we die. People ask me how long do I war? And I say, "many died not receiving the promise” The bible never says give up faith and hope the devil does.

Look at the life of Elijah. Though Elijah knew it was time for the rain to fall he still in fervent prayer upon the mountain had to birth and call it forth, 1 kings 18:41-46.

Do you know God wants to heal you?

Though Elijah saw nothing he persisted in fervent prayer calling the rain {healing}If you are expecting to receive a mighty harvest of healing even as it was with Elijah you have a word from God on Divine Healing; you need to call for healing and though you see nothing, call for healing and believe God, seven times Elijah persisted and he saw nothing. You may go to every miracle evangelist and see nothing but my friend it's coming.

I hear the sound and I know in my spirit IT IS TIME!!! Climb up on the mountain and call for the healing, call for the miracle. When the rains first began to come for Elijah the cloud was but the size of a man's fist, but it grew to the place where Elijah said to Ahab get your chariot going lest the rain stop you upon the way. When your healing comes you may not be instantly healed, you may only partially recover at first, but as you continue to keep on watering the seed of healing in your heart and hold on to the promise of healing you will receive your breakthrough.

Sometimes we have to contend for the promise of God. Let's believe for miracles but if you are waiting for the manifestation of your healing I want to encourage you to continue to press into God and be full of the healing word. The bible declares he sent his word and healed them!!!!

We want to pray for you as a ministry. If you would like us to stand with you as you believe God for your harvest of healing. I want to ask you if this teaching has blessed you and you know someone who may need a healing that you would consider passing it along to your friends.
