I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 1:18-20 NLT
In my many years of living, I’ve become convinced that every person, subconsciously or otherwise, looks at him or her self and comes up with some evaluation. “Do I come out well in the balance of the positives and negatives of life?” We need to because our self-image has a lot to do with how we deal with the issues of life.
People in this world are beaten down but how does our Father want Christians to look at themselves? I’ve known several Christians that put themselves down at every turn. “I’m just a humble servant of the Lord,” they say.
What? Why do we verbally degrade ourselves when the apostle Paul prays that our hearts be flooded with light? He also prayed that we understand the incredible greatness of God’s power. So, the light of God floods our hearts and His incredible greatness brings us alive. It enables us to weather whatever storm this life hurls at us because Christ lives in us..
We need to get this. We are not just little kitties. We are lions because Christ lives in us.
