Hearing God’s Voice

I once attended a 3 day seminar with The Happy Hunters. Charles & Frances Hunter went throughout the country putting on “Healing Explosions” where you spent 3 days learning about healing the sick and then on the final day, the doors were opened and the public came in to hear the Hunters minister. Finally, everyone who needed healing would come to those of us who had finished the training and we would pray for them.

During one of the training sessions, the Hunters son-in-law was speaking. About half way through his talk, he said, “Anyone who wants a special blessing from God, get out of your chair and come down here right now!” I was sitting on an aisle seat, so I jumped up and went down there. There were roughly 1200 people in that training session and only 12 of us went up front. He stopped talking and looked at me and said, “Can I help you?” I said, “You just said that anyone wanting a special blessing from God to come down right now.” He responded, “I didn’t say that. I didn’t say anything like that.” I started to go back when one of the others said he heard him say that, too. All 12 of us heard exactly the same thing. He said it must be a miracle of hearing and that if God called us for a special blessing, then to recieve it. When I got back to my seat, my wife and my pastor both asked if I had really heard that. Imagine the wonder of it. 1200 people in an auditorium and only 12 people heard God’s voice. And we were scattered all over the room, not sitting in just one place.

Later that day, we had a practice session, where we practiced what we had learned so far. I had carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. It was so bad, it took two hands to hold a cup of coffee. My doctor said I needed surgery on both hands to correct it. But Doctor Jesus did it with a touch. The young man that He used to perform the healing touched my forehead and spoke healing into my hands. I went down and laid on the floor and started to laugh uncontrollably. I couldn’t stop laughing. This went on for almost 20 minutes. When I finally stopped laughing and got up again, my hands were completely healed. My pastor then told me that he had heard of Holy Laughter. I guess it makes sense. Prov. 17:22 says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine”
