We are the Children of the New Covenant, and yet it seems we are often oppressed by the reality of a wilderness that is quenching the passions for genuine revival. God’s servants are flaming fiery spirit. Those that stand up under severe persecution and their gold is tried in true fire. Their fire is not strange fire concocted by the new age positive self band. Such false prophets deviously make every excuse to be lavished upon by wealth and pleasures. They shoot arrows that zero in to one target, your pocket. It is a gospel for the greedy not the Gospel to the needy. These could never mouth those resurrection powered words, “Silver and Gold have I none,” Nor could they utter “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!”
We hear them proclaim, “Miracles, miracles, miracles, come and see. Then preach, prosper, prosper by me, me, me. How different was the mighty prophet Elisha! He refused to accept payment for a miracle and rebuked such a one with a humbling request. It stung the pride of this noble called Naaman from Syria so much that he threw a tantrum and would have rather died with his leprosy than wash in the dirty river.
Well they might scold the humble virgin for daring to contravene their doctrines when she uttered the heavenly prophecy, “Luk 1:53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.” The Church that the Holy Spirit said was rich in the Book of revelation was very poor of natural things, but the Church that was wealthy, was in a wretched state, and had expelled the Christ that died for them, till He begged to come in again. I have never heard the blab it and grab it band preach from texts such as in 1 Timothy 6:3-11,
“1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
They might just skip those verses and pick up verse 12 to help establish their point.
I was more than happy to listen recently to a book of a missionary that visited America. He seemed to be an outstanding statesman born in the divine plan of God for Asia. I was changed when I heard this humble servant describe the degenerate state of the Church in the west compared to the great need of the Gospel to Asia.
I would be greatly surprised if it does not move your heart when you see such messages in this website as “tears of the Saints”. Shut your ears for a while to the colorful prophets of Baal and heed the true Gospel. Let it challenge you to a genuine response. Take your decomposing riches and cast them into the kingdom of God, that is the true Gospel expansion and be more concerned with the prodigal’s return than an investment return.
Asia and many, many, third world countries, need your ability to support them, to provide them with the tools of evangelism. Let your hearts be torn and your pockets open to the cry of the poor and then you will experience Isaiah 58 revival and allow such a revival to come and satisfy your hunger for God.
Though the Luke warm Church would exemplify many in the Western world the problem is not at all unique to the West. The nature of greed and hunger for wealth is a basic human trait and when it is prevalent in any Church then the result ends in Christ being excluded. He is ever seeking re-entry into the individuals of such Churches. The call is clear, go or send, through the resources you have and be rejoicing in the fruit of souls receiving salvation from the horror of sin and eternal hell.
God bless and move your hearts!
