God’s presence

I am currently on a partial 40 day fast and today is my 16th day. I have been reading the bible and praying throughout every day. The problem is I feel so far away from God, I don’t feel his presence. I feel so discouraged because the main purpose of my fast was to draw closer to God and grow spiritually but I feel like hes taken his presence away from me, I don’t know whether I should continue or just stop.

Please pray for me.

What do YOU think?

  1. The first time I worshipped/praised God, he prescence came all over me. He talked to me and I loved it. You’ll feel on cloud on nine. TRUE Worship/praise invokes the presence of God.

But when worship/praise, speak his name, saying, “Jesus Christ I worship you,” and tell him why. Worship is for who he is, praise is for what he’s done.

Just like you wouldn’t want someone liking you just for what you’ve done, but you want them to like you as a person.

Worship/praise from your heart for like 20-30 minutes. Alternate between holding hands up to God and bowing down and laying prostrate to worship.

God will make his prescence manifest.

Just keep on doing it. My life has changed drastically from praising/worshipping God. If you do it sincerely, and lead a submitted and obedient life, the Holy Spirit will descend in manifest way. God inhabits the praises of his people. That’s a verse you should look up. Psalm 22:3.

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. John 4:23

Yes, he is looking for you, a true worshipper. How awesome! Try it and you’ll be a believer.

Dear Yeukai – it’s not always about feelings, but about faith. By faith, draw on the Lord, being fully persuaded that He is God and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If you’re obeying Him in all things, just know that He has a big smile on His face as He looks upon you.

When Jesus was faced with the crucifixion, He did not “feel” like going through such agony, but by faith He carried out the Father’s will. We must use faith too, particularly when the going gets tough.

    Luke 22
[41] And he [Jesus] was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
[42] Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
[43] And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
[44] And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

  3. Thank you all for your encouraging words, sometimes even when you know God’s promises to us-It is still difficult to keep going when you feel like hes not there with you. But when someone points them out to you and encourages you, it really makes a difference so thank you guys. I love this website, the support and everything, it’s amazing. And I love you guys 🙂 I am not going to give up, I will press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Phillipians 3:14). @ Lookinforacity & jspring, I totally agree with you guys that I may have been expecting God to respond to my prayers and fasting in a certain way and I expected an immediate breakthrough but I have realised that its not about me but about him-his will not mine. @ Michael, thank you for your prayers. @Lilly- N- Valley, each time I feel like giving up I will remember to go just a little further.

May the Lord bless you all!

Can decide whether you should press on. If you made a promise to the Lord regarding the fast, I would encourage you in Christ to fulfill the vow you made. Either way, my brother I shall pray for you!

      Even now.
Father God, please give your servant, Yeukai wisdom and strength. Please bless him and send your angels to protect him. Not our will but your be done. Amen
God bless you brother, you are not alone

  4. Lily -N-Valley says:

When you feel like quitting set a goal to go, ‘Just a little further,’
God will never leave you or abandon you. That is His promise and He is not a man who can lie.
Play some worship music and praise Him, when you feel like giving up. But do not give up.
Remember ..just a little further. And you will meet your goal by going just a little further each time you feel like giving up.

I have found over the yrs., that the quickest way to come into Gods’ presence is by doing His Will.
What I mean is, when you are doing His Will, that is exactly where He is.
From your post you sound as though you started this fast in order to have a closer walk with Him.
But now you are feeling discouraged, far away from God and that you don’t even feel His presence.
At this moment you just need some encouragement,
    Some scriptures for you.

    Things God does
    Joh 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    Heb 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    Things we do
    Heb 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    Jas 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

    1Pe 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

We cannot coerce God into responding the way we have said in our hearts that He should.
God hasn’t withdrawn from you, it is you who wants Him to respond to you the way you want Him to.
Change the thrust of you Fast, start praying for everything you can think of. Friends, Family, City, Country,
Ask Gods’ forgiveness for the sins of your Country, take this opportunity you have to intercede, as the prophets of old did, stand in the gap.
Read the prayers of the Prophets, get an idea as to what they prayed, because they were praying in the Will of God.
Die to yourself, your wants, needs, hopes, desires. When we get our eyes off of ourselves then God can work on us.
Put yourself on the alter for His purposes.

    Be Blessed in you fast

  6. Father, bless Yeukai with a powerful sense of your presence. Even more than that, I pray that Yeukai will get revelation of Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Honor this fast Lord in Jesus' name.

  7. Continue doing your fast & pressing in. Sometimes there’s not immediate breakthrough that you may see in the natural sense but there’s a lot more going on within yourself than you may really understand spiritually. The Lord will test you on whether you’ll be faithful unto Him, even when He doesn’t seem to be there with you. This is where He can lead you into deeper revelation of His Word & cause you to walk in fulfillment of His Word in your life. Afterall, this is what walking by faith is…believing without seeing & doing what the Lord tells you to do whether it feels comfortable or helpful, or not. There’s a deeper thing going on here and you’ll see by your persistence in seeking Him more will make you stronger in Him. The Lord may seem to pull back sometimes in order that you seek deeper & want more of Him. The Song of Solomon gives a good example of this love story. So, continue to fulfill the Scriptures through your obedience in Him – Heb. 13:5; 1 John 5:3. Remember, even the Lord Jesus thought the Father forsook Him on the cross, once His mission was finished, but you see, even better He glorified the Father in being true to His Word – the Father didn’t, He had something greater planned. The Father & Son by the leading of the Holy Spirit have something greater planned for you in this process. Pursue in expectation (Phillipians 1:6-11).
