God Is A God Of Power

God is a God of power and He wants to demonstrate his power for you and through you. From the Old Testament to the New Testament the Bible shows you God’s willingness to use his power for his people and through his people. In the Old Testament God divided the Red Sea to free his people and they walked across on dry ground (Exodus 14:13-16). Joshua told the sun and moon to be still and they did, God himself hearkened to the voice of a man to deliver them in battle (Joshua 10:12-14). Elijah called down fire from heaven to prove he was the only true living God and that Elijah was his servant (1Kings 18:31-38). Elijah also called down fire from heaven and consumed member of the kings army twice at Elijah’s request (2Kings 1:10-12). And in Daniel 11:32 it says they that know their God will be strong and do exploits.

In the New Testament Jesus said “ye shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8). That power is to do the works of Jesus to demonstrate God’s goodness and power. Like when Jesus told his disciples to- heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast of devils (Matthew 10:8). And Jesus said signs would follow them that believe (Mark 16:17,18). What kind of signs would follow them? Signs of power. God wants to demonstrate power so that people would have faith in his power (1Corinthians 2:4,5). God wants to do great things for you and through you so expect great things to be done by the power of God.

Thanks for the refreshing comment. God doesn’t change. He’s the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, so we CAN expect great things by His power. He is awesome.
