Why I Believe we are now in the Final Generation before Christ's Return
I believe Jesus Christ will return some time in the next 30 years at the latest. I DON'T believe this simply because there is a great increase in occultic activity (which there is), or because governments are stripping away the civil liberties of people in the name of fighting terrorism (which they are), or because Satan is trying to unify the nations under one global empire (which he is). Neither do I believe it simply because there is an increase in earthquakes and natural disasters, or because false prophets are rising up in the church and deceiving many, just as our Lord predicted (see Matthew 24).
I believe Jesus Christ will return soon because NOW, for the first time in history, we are within striking range of preaching the gospel to all nations and people groups of the world, in a meaningful way - in their own languages and with the demonstration of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:14: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and THEN the end will come."
Even if MOST professing "born-again" Christians don't care about the salvation of anyone else except themselves and possibly their close relatives, THERE ARE ENOUGH CHRISTIANS IN EVERY COUNTRY WHO DO CARE. There are enough Christians who believe in the mighty power of God which is necessary for the effective preaching of the gospel. And also, we have mass media, television and the internet with which we could reach the whole world with the true gospel if a few of us united our purpose and resources for the task.
The "One Laptop per Child" project is very interesting. I believe that within a generation every child on earth will have access to wireless internet and a computer, by which they could be reached with powerful gospel presentations.
This being the case, let us not build our castles on earth. Let's sell our castles, if we have them, and invest the money in mass media gospel projects, helping widows and orphans and financially challenged pioneering pastors ("apostles", if you will) in areas where the gospel is just beginning to take root. The truly wise people, who understand God's ways, would rather invest what they cannot keep in order to gain something eternal they cannot lose.

Teenagers
I've been reading your blog about end of the world nearing, curses, spiritual warfare, etc.
I am so worried about our teenagers!!! We are still sort of set in our ways. Not much, inf anything, can sway my belief in Jesus Christ, but my 15 yr old son and so many other teens are so agressive and are so "anti"-religion. He told me ( many times) how he doesn't care about where he goes when he dies or isn't sure about God for that matter. I anoint my house and TV and PC & Hi-fi with oil and block negative influences through it, I pray that all doorways will be closed via influences of friends. I still feel so worried and helpless. I know I must trust in God, but I'm his mother....I feel I should do more!! I must protect him. I've put myself in the gap for him..any advice?? Any prayers will help, not just for my teenager, but so many...
Bless you, great site!
Karin's son
Karin,
God is faithful. When I met and married my husband he wasn't a Christian and I wasn't walking with God. Since we've been married his mom has re-dedicated her life to God. His father and step mother are now involved with the church. I would have never thought this could happen! I continue to pray and I'll pray for your son.
Totally agree
My wife has also rededicated herself since the birth of our first daughter. She had problems conceiving. We prayed very hard to God and when she found herself to be pregnant, our life changed. Have absolute faith!
Cheers,
Ed
Getting your teenager saved
Nothing worthwhile is easy. As well as living the Christian life before your teenager, the other thing you can do is FAST and PRAY and SPEAK THE WORD. It takes the intervention of the Holy Spirit to deal with cases like this. Also realise that God is just in condemning wickedness, whether it be in people far away, in us, or in our own beloved families.
If your son wants to be a prodigal, you might have to be like the Father in Luke 15. Your son is no longer a child, and will soon be an adult. If he doesn't repent, you'll have to let him go and make it on his own in his own house when he comes to majority. Your prayers will still have an impact if you continue in them. Real life and real responsibility have a way of making people better over time.
For end times, be heavily
For end times, be heavily reading Revelations and seeking Jesus. Here are some verses :
(Deuteronomy 28:64, 30:3 Jeremiah 29:14, 30:3 Isaiah 43:5-6, Ezekiel 36:24, Amos 9:14-15
People won't believe the signs -(2 Peter 3:3-4, Matthew 16:1-4)
Increase in persecution of the Christians (Matthew 24:9, Mark 13:9)
Signs and Wonders in heaven (Mark 13:25)
---Important--- **Two prophets preach in Jerusalem for 1260 days. They have the power to bring famines and plagues. They are killed and lie dead in the streets for three and a half days while the wicked of the earth rejoice in the streets and exchange gifts in celebration of their deaths. On the third
day they arise striking fear in the hearts of the wicked. (Revelations 11)**
Armageddon. The nations of the earth gather to fight Israel at Jerusalem, at Armageddon in
the valley of Jehoshaphat. (Revelations 16:16)
End Times
My Question is if the one laptop per child is a reality that might happen in the next 20-40 years. Is this reality limited to the wealth nation on the earth or is it possible for every nation on earth to participate. If it is possible, what about the poor nations on this earth, is there going to be a large scale change or large scale distribution of wealth to all nations on the earth. Because the last time I look laptops are pretty expensive and so is internet service. My wife use to live in the philippines and most of the country is very poor, it a struggle just to put rice on the table and we have a ministry in this country and the last thing that on their minds is a laptop, for alot of filipino it doing their best to make sure their children do not go to bed hungry, maybe that might be a concern for the Christian living in wealth nations,"just a thought " Another thought if this is a reality, will the governments of the each nation be involved or will their be one government in charge. ( one world government ) just me thinking out loud
Blessing in Jesus
'World Series' Eschatology
It's funny how End-Times preachers in developed countries think it must be the fulfillment of prophecy and the 'End of the World' just because gasoline prices rise, and a hurricane destroys part of a city, or a conspiracy to meddle with the Constitution is unveiled; when meanwhile, elsewhere in the world, millions and millions of people have already died in far worse disasters - yet End-Times preachers never considered it to have any eschatological significance. It's like the 'World Series' sporting event - no other country participates, yet it's still called the World Series.
Missions, Not Technology.
First of all, I will definitely say I am not a very smart person, nor will I claim to be. But I will say, that in one generation, not every child on earth will have access to the internet. I recall a news story about an airplane finding an undiscovered tribe of people in the Amazons. These people were aiming their bows and arrows at the airplane, ready to take it down. Its not technology that will bring the gospel to people like these, but people willing to go into these dense jungle areas and preach to them. And if we just happen to stumble upon a village in the middle of the Amazons, who knows how many more undiscovered villages there may be. It could be decades before we find them all, perhaps sooner, but with all the technology we have in 2008 and we JUST NOW found these people, I say it will take quite a little bit. And so in my opinion, giving children laptops is good and all, but if everyone in the world is to be preached to, it will take some explorers and missionaries who want to go on adventures and find every single last person. Just my two cents.
Reaching every last person with the gospel
Will not be achieved through technology alone, but those who are reached will definitely be able to reach every last person. Personally, I think virtually everybody will be on the internet within 20 years. Its just an opinion though.
