WARNING TO CHRISTIANS: The Great Apostacy of Narnia!

Dear friends, family, and pastors,

Thursday evening I was reading a "Christian" news article that was excited about the release of "The Dawn Treader".  They were upset that the lead actor who is the voice of Aslan stated that he viewed the role not as a Christ role but as a mentor or guide role such as Buddha or Mohamed might also fulfill. They had a reader poll on this, but the poll only gave three options as to why readers thought this guy was essentially 'out to lunch'. None of the options stated, "I agree" with his assessment.  I emailed them and then posted a warning on Facebook. These movies are flat out evil and demonic. C.S. Lewis was a philosopher more than a Christian, despite his pedigree and honored status in the dying churches of the west.

Prince Caspian and "The Dawn Treader" are spiritual poison. Jesus is not Aslan, and Aslan is NOT Jesus! Read the following quotes (two of too many to use) from Prince Caspian and judge for yourself:

"...the girls had waked to see Aslan standing over them and to hear his voice saying, 'We will make holiday.' ... Bacchus [the Roman god of wine, madness and debauchery] and the Maenads—his fierce, madcap girls—and Silenus were still with them.... Everyone was awake, everyone was laughing, flutes were playing, cymbals clashing."[1,p.277] Prince Caspian

"...all night Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes." [1,p.283, The Complete Chronicles of Narnia]

Does Jesus have fellowship with pagan deities, whom the Bible labels as devils? Does he call to order their lust-filled festivals? If so, then Aslan is Jesus! If not, who the devil are you opening your mind and heart to?

Does a holy and righteous God, who has made Himself abundantly clear about his hatred for witchcraft, etc. want us to open the pathway to curious arts... to our children? Does He who says, "I will set no wicked thing before my eyes," desire that we watch a vivid technicolor, dolby enhanced rendering of these things clearly designed to transport us into another world?

Deu 18:9-15 "When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

"For ALL THAT DO THESE THINGS* are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. THOU SHALL BE PERFECT** with the LORD thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, THE LORD THY GOD HAS NOT SUFFERED THEE SO TO DO.***"

*ALL means no exceptions. Aslan does these things and partakes in them and answers when the children call using magic horns and such. Therefore Aslan himself is an abomination to the Lord.

**THOU means "you" and it means me, who is a "you" to God who wrote this. SHALL BE PERFECT means spotless. In this context it means we are commanded to remove these abominations afore listed from our lives and not be soiled by them. We cannot set them before our eyes as "entertainment" and not have them go into our hearts and minds - this is confusion, and God is not the author of confusion. "I will set no wicked thing before my eyes..."

*** God does not suffer (allow) us to do this under any circumstance. We simply do not have HIS permission. My children have all kinds of good reasons why there is nothing wrong with doing certain things, but when I say they do not have my permission, all of their reasons turn to rebellion if they persist.

Verse 15 states, "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;"

Jesus Christ is that Prophet. He came to confirm this word. It is unto HIM we shall listen, not Aslan. The God who wrote "this is an abomination" was sending a Prophet who represents Him and thus represents His Holy hatred for the things Lewis uses to 'preach the gospel,' if indeed that was Lewis' intent in the Narnia series. If that was Lewis' intent, it is a false gospel indeed. As such it is accursed as Paul has spoken, for the Gospel according to Aslan is that of universalism, which Lewis himself believed in real life...

"Lewis dedicated his autobiography (“Surprised by Joy”) to Bede Griffiths, a former student of his who became a long-time friend. Griffiths founded a “Christian ashram” in India. He said that Hindu temples are a “sacrament.” And he(Lewis) said, “No one can say in the proper sense that the Hindu, the Buddhist or the Muslim is an ‘unbeliever.’ I would say rather that we have to recognize him as our brother in Christ.”  In this, the Voice of Aslan, Liam Neeson, is TRUE in his interpretation of the heart of C.S. Lewis.

How BLIND are we that we overlook the obvious? Witches are evil... always. Half man/ half beast are the stuff pagan legends (not Christian ones) are made of. Children blowing mystical horns to summons Aslan from afar? Spells? Mystical seers? Another obvious is Why is Disney (the Magic Kingdom) the one promoting this?

When I believe God needs the devil's kingdom to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I will cease being a Christian. My God has FULLY equipped His Church to preach the Gospel with signs and wonders following. Narnia has made a mockery of the decaying church in America who sells White Witches of all things to promote their ministries! They cling to Narnia and pee on this mystical movie to anoint it as 'Christian' as though they do not have enough spiritual resources in the form of Divine Scripture and the Holy Spirit to win the world to Christ!

My brothers and sisters, this is a grievous sin and a stench in God's nostrils. This is not about me and my interpretations of anything. This is about as clear cut as it gets in God's Word. I beg you to read the following links and bring them to the Lord in prayer. We have missed it BIG TIME!  Let's repent and take a stand before we hand our children off to fantasies that lay them open to demonic assault and the pursuit of Harry Potter's world. Many churches have advocates in their midst for the Narnia series. I believe it is the Pastor's place to draw a clear line here for their churches. There is GREAT DANGER in Narnia. God has warned and he will not overlook this. We must not give place to the devil, for he will most assuredly use it to bewitch us further.

May God grant us repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, that we may escape ourselves from the snare of the devil.

Sincerely, Tim

P.S. - It will take less time to read these links in their entirety than it will take to watch one of these movies. Please do so before you allow your family or congregations to see such things. If we feel the need for a Christian allegory, then let's read "Pilgrim's Progress" to our children.

what about..

what about harry potter then? Sad i would like to know whether is there a danger in reading harry potter too

Harry Potter is far worse than Narnia

For all the criticisms of C.S. Lewis and Narnia, the Harry Potter series is out and out witchcraft with little redeeming value. It is far worse and was authored by a witch.

Thank you

Dear Timothy,
Although I don’t participate on discussions, I often read your comments (and others, too). I want to say thank you for your thoughtful and edifying comments. I don’t feel qualified enough to respond to questions, but, like many members of this site, I enjoy reading and learning from all sides of the discussion. This morning, burdened by my 14 year old daughter’s preference for “a good witch,” I read your discussion on this particular topic. How can you explain to a young person, both the so called “good witches” as well as the bad ones belong to one and the same source? I told my daughter that they are all evil and she was very offended. To her, the good withes are helping while the bad once are truly destructive. At the moment, we are unable to communicate on this subject and we agreed not to talk about it. I have been praying about this problem in my family. I will be grateful if the Lord leads you to pray for us (for my daughter to see the truth).

In Christ,

YT

Teshomey, Sorry for the

Teshomey, Sorry for the delayed response. My phone lines were out for a day or so due to an accident down the road.

Deutoronomy 18 clearly states witchcraft as a whole is an abomination. The head of the Satanist Church in America, himself stated that there is no difference between white magic and black... they both have the same source.

The devil comes as an angel of light to deceive. All he seeks to do is get us to move our allegiance and total dependence from God to his kingdom. I would say one could call the witch of Endor a "white witch." After all, she was simply trying to help Saul get a word from a prophet of God... what can be wrong with that??? Yet... it was the end of Saul and the Lord took his covering from him completely and let the enemy destroy him the very next day.   Doesn't sound like the end result was "good." 1 Sam 28.

Thanks

Timothy Luke,

Thank you for your response and for further clarifying the issue.

teshomey - perhaps you can

teshomey - perhaps you can share this scripture with your daughter.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. - 2 Corinthians 14

Thank you

Thank you so much for sending this scripture. Obviously, I have been neglectful and clueless when she has been reading all those deceitful comics and story books. Looking back, it all started very young; with children books (cartoons). Now, she thinks it is safe as long as she opt for the "good witch."

Thanks again.

As a committed Christian, I don't agree

Lewis was a master of symbolism and an exceptional Christian thinker. What's so great about the Narnia stories isn't the adventure or quality of the storytelling, but the way in which Lewis' love of Jesus Christ comes through his writing.

Aslan is not a replacement for Christ. He is simply a metaphor in a childs story. Christ himself tells us we must become like a child in order to understand Him.

Many children have grown into adults who have come to faith in Christ, in some part through their understanding of the Narnian chronicles.

How can this be a bad thing?

Lesley

Lesley

You have asked a question, so I shall respond to it.

Many children have grown into adults who have come to faith in Christ, in some part through their understanding of the Narnian chronicles.

How can this be a bad thing?

It can be a bad thing when we violate God's Word to "learn about God." The very first commandment is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Lewis is not just using metaphor, he is using demonic mythologies that are widely known and adored in the Pagan and Wiccan circles. He uses these to preach a gospel whose conclusion is NOT Christian. When Lewis' Narnia concludes, the conclusion is in direct opposition to the clear words of Jesus Christ, who says, "I am The Way, The Truth and The Life, NO MAN comes to the Father except through me." Aslan however, says even a servant of Tash (the anti-Aslan figure) is granted free entrance into Narnia, simply because he basically was "really in his heart only seeking truth." This is the heresy of Universalism that C.S. Lewis adhered to and it is no coincidence (read the source links I have in the blog) that Narnia is dedicated to Lucy, the daughter of one of his best friends who was devoted to preaching universalism.

All who get drawn into the metaphor of Narnia, under the assumption it is Christian, then are bound to be influenced by the conclusions of the author that are not Christian.

In all of this, dare I remind us that Satan comes as an angel of light and that he is a master of making evil look good? Dare I mention that his demonic hosts have the power to bewitch and confuse our thoughts and allegiance? If Satan can do so just enough to make us miss our calling, but still think we are walking in it, then he has won and we have lost our salvation.

To come to genuine faith in Christ (as your post mentions), a person must be willing to follow Christ, no matter what He says and how unreasonable it sounds. Jesus was the Word that made and fashioned the earth and heavens and all principalities and powers... for scripture says, "by Him were all things made and without Him was nothing made that was created."

As the "Rock" that followed them in the wilderness (1Cor. 10:4) Jesus gave the commandments to Moses. He is the one who, knowing the subtility, evilness, and pure despotism of the angels who rebelled, COMMANDED in Deut. 18:12-14 saying the people of God were not allowed to seek after the very things Lewis uses so light heartedly and with the understanding of these things being GOOD and not EVIL.

Lewis was a philosopher. Read his other works and you will see Christianity was a mental excercise for him and there is little to suggest he had an intimate, heart level, relationship with Christ. There are things he has published that show him entertaining the possibility of atheistic evolution, but the main reason for his rejection of it was how he saw the atheists behave - not because he believed in God.

If we begin our faith in the Word of God and hold fast to it alone, we will be on solid ground. Some have come to Christ while being in a drugged stupor... I do not think that is God's endorsement for blowing our minds on drugs however.

I appreciate you asking the question. I hope you will be able to get past the feelings my reply may have generated, and go before the Lord and ask Him if these things are so, and find your answer strictly in the Bible, rather than human reasoning plus the Bible that binds many to justifying these fables.

I do not have a problem with you not agreeing with me, but I just wanted to answer the question posed. I would be surprised were my reply to bring us into agreement.

Shalom,

Timothy

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

This conversation isnt at all about God and salvation any more.We should all know and be mature enough in Christ we cant make any one believe what we believe so give up.I am 100% convinced suicide is wrong but if another christian doesnt believe this where is it my job in the bible to convince others.Enough is enough........Its time to quit trying to convince eash other of what you believe is right. If some one is wanting to complain or try to dispute then pray for them. But is it really any business what one believes to another?I am not going to tell people that condems are wrong when they are convinced their ok.See this is getting to the point its sad to see what christians are complaining about.I have recieved death threats because of my minestry so while your debating I am seeking out God about whos going to be there for my family. So if your that bored to debate this join my minestry so you can feel the way I do............

Covering for TimT

Dear Timt,
I had no idea that you were suffering from physical threats as well as spiritual. What would you like us to pray for, I mean specifically ,if you are able to elaborate. You sound very stressed out(understandably) . I will spend the remainder of the day covering your family( you and the ministry too) in prayer .I will be lifting you up in prayer in the spirit. Please keep me informed, you can send a message if you need to.
Beloved/Kristin

When is your big conference?

It might sound strange

I know this might sound strange but I have peace,I have allot of nightmaresand many are tring to convince me to stop exposing what demonsare doing to people and stop exposing what Satanism is all about but I have weighed the cost and I knowwhat I am doing.God has placewd a destiney and a purpose for my life and my minestry is helping many get saved and restored so if I lose my life because of this than I am ready to go home.I weighed the cost many timeswhat I am doing but I want every one to find the freedom like I have.In the first week of Febuary I am going to expose who I am to a large amount of people at a conferance not at a church so I am a little bit concerned but I must put my life on the line for those that dont know Christ because Christ has given me mercy and Grace what greater love than that for me considering just how evil I was so I lay my life down so people can cometo know the lord Jesus Christ like me.Luke 7:47 MEANS SO MUCH TO ME..........Thanks Tim

Re: Narnia

I would like to expound on my thought which was in my first post to this subject.

I said
"Doesn't it all come down to whether or not we allow the evil to have a voice."
"What I mean is, even if we are mature Christians, and are able to see through the fantasy?"
"If we go to watch such movies, or read such books, aren't we in essence allowing the evil to speak?"

I use the following definitions to clarify this thought.

Definitions are from Strongs Concordance

OBEY:
G5218
From G5219; attentive hearkening, that is, (by implication) compliance or submission: - obedience, (make) obedient, obey (-ing).

G5219
From: G191; to hear under (as a subordinate), that is, to listen attentively; by implication to heed or conform to a command or authority: - hearken, be obedient to, obey.

G191
A primary verb; to hear (in various senses): - give (in the) audience (of), come (to the ears), ([shall]) hear (-er, -ken), be noised, be reported, understand.

Here then is my addendum to this thought, keeping in mind the definitions.

Rom 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to OBEY, his servants ye are to whom ye OBEY; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Taking note of the word OBEY, we see that this word being used in the bible, does not retain the same definition as we use it today. So when someone would read this verse with today's understanding, the verse has a completely different meaning than when the biblical definition I just posted is used.

I use this analogy in explanation, "You cannot un - ring a bell"
So likewise when we open our minds to things we may read in a book, or hear in a movie, we have allowed evil to speak to us, they will forever be in our mind, an innocent seed as it were of entertainment, planted by the enemy, that in and of itself, may be harmless never coming to fruition, never bearing fruit.
But the question is, how many other harmless seeds have we allowed to be planted into our lives, that being combined, these then could become a deadly crop.
I reiterate
"I am not saying that you become possessed, but I am saying you have opened yourself up to evil, you have in essence participated in the evil depicted."
"You become a part of what you expose yourself to".

1Co 10:23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Here is another example of the same thing.
The Holy Spirit cannot bring to your remembrance something that you have never put into your memory to begin with.

Joh 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

But once you have deposited the words of the bible into your mind they can then be recalled at any moment for use by the Holy Spirit.

Mar 13:11
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

Lookinforocity, your key

Lookinforocity, your key statement was "allowing evil to speak to you." When I went to see "The Dawn Treader," this is what I saw and heard; there was a powerful message concerning temptation, and its subtlties and consequences, and the power of our authority to make choices. Also, at the end, Aslan said to the children, "I am known in your world by a different name!" (A direct reference to Jesus... If you are on that frequency) That's what spoke to me, because I was listening to God, not the devil. Someone else may go and see evil and devils, and whatever else; well, then they shouldn't go. Usually these same people are seeing devils everywhere else too, because the devil is following them around accommodating them! (Instead of running from them) The problem comes in when these religious and legalistic Christians come in and become the judges of everyone else's conscience. That's not your job, folks; and Timothy, you're not God's "prophet of the hour," sent to issue us all special "warnings." (Hate to bust your bubble) :) Sure, you can preach the Word, but then let the Holy Spirit do His job!

Twoythal, Please answer these

Twoythal, Please answer these three simple questions.

1 - Does God love witchcraft?

2 - Does God make an exemption for "good" witchcraft, or witchcraft used for "good'?

3 - Are you in agreement with God in this assessment?

You are mocking me and yet you have not answered the basic question that is generating the discussion. If, as I firmly believe, God HATES witchcraft, He has not made an exemption for 'good' witchcraft (how lame a disguise is that of the devil?), then what is the uproar? Why do people who say they love God, run to see things God hates?

What are your answers to those questions Twoythal? The questions are legit, I suspect your answers condemn your conclusions, is that why you avoid them?

You write:

Sure, you can preach the Word, but then let the Holy Spirit do His job!

I am preaching the Word and you are resisting it, and making this about Timothy, rather than about the clear Word of God. Please respond to the questions about the Word of God and we will have a place of discussion.

I have answered your

I have answered your questions, many times over; read my posts and you will find the answers.

To those who are trying to

To those who are trying to say one shouldn't watch Narnia because it breaks God's law in the book of Deutronomy, namely:

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (New King James Version)10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you.

and saying that those who are not convicted of this by the Holy Spirit are deceived. I have only this to ask, are you compelled to be circumcised? Are you perfect in the law? Do you obey every one of Gods commandments without faltering? Do God's people not realise that sanctification is a process that occurs during the life of a believer, so if a brother is maybe not at the same level of sanctification in that the Holy Spirit has not convicted a believer of certain things yet, or has allowed freedom in certain areas, why do you try to bring a brother down and place a burden on them by appealing to the law? This kind of teaching is very close to a distortion of the gospel, at least the one I have read according to Paul in the book of Galatians. Where we have a relationship with the Lord Jesus and God the Father through the Holy Spirit, and where by faith we work out our salvation by the power of the Holy Spirit, and He writes God's law on our hearts, sanctifies us, conforms us to be like Jesus and works fruit in us by faith, while at the same time we have liberty, joy and peace in Christ Jesus. NOTE: I am not speaking of a Gospel without righteousness or repentance by any means, rather saying that this needs to happen through the working of the Holy Spirit by faith.

I have no problem if someone has a conviction against Narnia or any other thing by the Holy Spirit. But to accuse others or say they are decieved or something is dangerous and wrong, ESPECIALLY if this has not been revealed to them by God. You may just be insulting or grieving the Holy Spirit. It's strange that even though I have been convicted of the Harry Potter series and other such things, yet not the Lord of the Rings personally for instance, I would never accuse another brother in some way like saying they could be under a religious spirit, because I don't know that for sure from God and is potentially harmful if I'm wrong.

To those who would say God considers these things evil so how could you partake in them. Have we seriously lost the heart of God? While that may be true in that those things are not pleasing to God, is salvation not a process where God works it out in you, where He writes His law on our hearts, and where He brings us from one level of sanctification to the next by the working of His Spirit by faith? The only thing you can do by compelling someone to stop doing something by quoting Gods law and not by the Holy Spirit convicting that person is bring about a dead relationship between that person and God, and create enmity between them and God because the burden is too great to achieve His law by our own working. As well as steal freedom and joy.

I would just encourage us all to have more wisdom in our words, as well as seek the Lord and His heart, before we type anything on such a serious subject.

I have no problem with a post being written about Narnia and warning others, in fact I think it can be a good thing, what I have a problem with is trying to force people under this conviction and saying if they don't have it they are deceived etc. or getting dangerously close to putting others under a law based system with God. I know over the last few years the Holy Spirit has taken me from one place of sanctification to the next, I would watch or participate in certain entertainment or games that now I do not. The CRUCIAL thing is that this has been by the working of the Holy Spirit, so it has not been a burden to me that causes me to inwardly have enmity or rebelliousness toward God by having to give up things to attain to His law or please Him. Rather it has been worked out in a relationship with God, which is what I believe, according to the Gospel, is what God wants. God looks at the heart. I have already made my peace with people on this post through the Spirit of God, thanks be to Jesus, but wanted to post this generally as felt this is quite a serious matter.

The Nature of a 'WARNING'

Daniel,

It is unfair to compare my warnings on Narnia and Rings, etc, with the 'legalism' (where is THAT word in the Bible?) of Galatians.

I have issued a warning. If I were a lifeguard at the beach and was aware of a rip current, I would warn swimmers. If they said, 'hey, it looks great from here, I'm going in!" then they do so at their own risk.

There is a demonic under current that is plain as day to those who have eyes to see. Should we be shamed to silence? Can we deny what we clearly see? No. Yet, for those who love their liberty, you are free to swim in rip tides and shark infested waters, if you so desire. The consequences are on your head. If you believe there are no consequences, then so be it. Have a nice day!

Hey Timothy, the whole world

Hey Timothy, the whole world has a demonic "undercurrent!"

Then swim with it....

Then swim with it....

"If I take the wings of the

"If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the the night shall be light about me." (Psalm 139:9-11)

Ok, let's go swimming... And let's catch some fish!!

Hey again Timothy I thought

Hey again Timothy

I thought of an example where I hope the position I am coming from will be more clear, which I believe is of the heart of God and according to His Gospel. I'm writing this not to lash out or in unlove but to explain the heart of the message that I think is important.

During Christmas time we (in my family) have a christmas tree up, we put up a christmas tree as a tradition of my parents. God knows we are not putting up a christmas tree to worship false gods. Now my mom is a born again christian, but my dad is not a believer. I've been trying to be a witness to Him over the years through the Spirit and given Him things to read when appropriate and prayed for Him. In reading material for example I got Him a short thin book called 'Why on earth did Jesus come?' for Christmas that gives the basic fundamentals of why Jesus came and explains the gospel. He's finding it interesting.

Now to my point. If I wasn't trusting on reliance on the Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me in things in my life, I could for example, apart from the leading of the Spirit, by my own flesh and fleshly wisdom and understanding, even from my own understanding of Gods Word (Deutronomy), tell my family that putting up a christmas tree and celebrating christmas is wrong and dishonoring to God because it is based in a pagan tradition. I could even go so far as to say they are bringing in an abominable object according to Deutronomy. This is very similar logic to the reasoning of why not to watch Narnia for instance. Now if I was to do that, which the Holy Spirit has in no way convicted me of doing, in fact God would be against me doing that. He hasn't put me under or given me that burden or conviction in any way. Because if I did that, my dad would be so offended, I would completely push Him away from God and He would probably totally give up on looking into christianity in any way because of this 'fanatical, religious christian'. That is what our own flesh and wisdom is able to do, apart from the Lord God. I would endanger the salvation of my Dad because I did something apart from the leading of the Holy Spirit. Now that is not a form of being 'hated' and 'persecuted' by the world that God is pleased with, that's not really standing for righteousness, its doing things apart from the Holy Spirits leading, trying to be made perfect by the flesh, that can put off people from God for the wrong reasons. That is not the heart of God and that kind of 'righteousness' is not from God but is from ourselves, our own efforts, our own wisdom and flesh, apart from reliance on the Spirit of God.

That's the best example I could think of (perhaps it didn't come from me, but from the Lord) to explain where I am coming from, and how important this issue is. Like I said previously, I have no problem with a solid warning about Narnia, but do have a problem with people saying they are under a deceiving spirit if they don't have that conviction or are being led by a false spirit. Just to add to the example, I for instance in no way support halloween, because the Holy Spirit has ofcourse revealed to me the abominations and sick things that happen on this day, and I do not want to dishonor God by participating it. Now for that I have no problem in being persecuted because I am being obedient to God by the Holy Spirits leading and conviction.

Can you please read through this post carefully, and take the time to understand what I'm saying here, because your example of Deutronomy to applying to Narnia could just as easily apply to celebrating christmas or having a christmas tree up in the house. If we are not relying on the Holy Spirit in everything, even in studying Gods Word, we are inevitably trying to be made perfect by the flesh. There is no substitute or system that we can have that can take the place of trusting and relying on the Holy Spirit from beginning to end, by faith - genuinly

Galatians 3:2-3
This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

I mean no offense whatsover in this post.

Kindly
Daniel

URGENT questions for Daniel, and others....

Can you answer me these questions, Daniel?

1 - Does God love witchcraft?

2 - Does God make an exemption for "good" witchcraft, or witchcraft used for "good'?

3 - Are you in agreement with God in this assessment?

I am having an extremely difficult time with those disagreeing with this warning not addressing these core points that are fundemental to this discussion on finding and honoring the heart of God in this matter.

Well, does God love you? Can

Well, does God love you? Can He make something clean out of something unclean?

Not if it doesn't repent.

Not if it doesn't repent.

"For God is not willing that any should perish," yet the world is perishing.

I agree; enough is enough!

I agree; enough is enough! I'm going to go have dinner!! Blessings everyone!

Just also wanted to clarify,

Just also wanted to clarify, incase its not clear, a post can sometimes not reflect the tone its being written in, my intention is not to 'attack' anyone by any means, just think this is a very important issue, so posted this example as I thought it would clarify the meaning of what is trying to be said in previous posts, and I wrote it in love.

Don't worry Daniel

Hi Daniel

I for one, have not seen in any of your posts, and especially the ones in this discussion any anger, or disrespect for other posters, your decorum has been exemplary, you have been an example to others with your restraint.{:>)

3chelon, that was an excellent post, and an excellent example!! I learned years ago (when my children were young) that if you bring them up under legalistic bondage, you can easily push them away from the things of God and into the arms of the world. Incidentally, from what I understand, the singer Madonna was brought up in a legalistic Christian home! Many times when people rebel, they are not really rebelling against God, but instead are rebelling against what they have been taught is God. You definitely had the wisdom of God on how you handled the Christmas scenario! It's all by the Spirit, not the letter; the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

I used to have facebook like buttons all over the site, and I suppose I could have them on comments too, but it was slowing down the site loading times TOO much. If you want to "Like" something, especially a page, you can do so with the Addthis plugin which you can download.

I wasn't complaining about

I wasn't complaining about there not being a like button :) Just liked what I read and figured that was a clever way to say it. Thank-you for the information though!

Roots of Paganism

Did you know that" windows" As in the windows in a house, have their roots in paganism? I guess you can see where I'm going with this.......

I would love to hear the

I would love to hear the story of how pagans came up with windows.... I would have thought anybody with a desire to see outside their home, from the inside, would have beaten them to it! Being a window cleaner does not make me a high priest I hope! :-)

Timothy Luke

I should have been prepared to back that up! :) I remember reading about that when I was looking into pagan roots of Christian holidays, and it stuck with me.
I believe it goes back to the Druids being able to watch for evil spirits. But it has been a long time.I will try and find a source. As far as being a "high priest"
I think you're safe ;)
Kristin/Beloved

I do appreciate the warning,

I do appreciate the warning, in fact I got rid of some things shortly after our discussion, through seeking the Lord. I'm not sure you understood the heart of my post which was that the Holy Spirit takes us through sanctification and some people may be at different places in the Lord, so what I was saying that that doesn't necessarily mean people are decieved or being led by a false spirit, which I think should be said with caution, as it can shake someone's relationship with God in a negative way. That's all I was saying. There's also a danger in suddenly feeling you have to get rid of everything that may have something 'dodgy' in it, apart from the leading of the Holy Spirit. You can start getting fearful that you can't be involved with anything 'in the world' cause you are trying to 'figure it out on your own' without God's leading. That's all I was trying to say.

Hope you understand
Kindly
Daniel

The narnia discussion

Doesn't anyone else find it strange, in a discussion about such things, the very things God has called evil, there are those that would call them good, and entertaining?
The answer to the whole question of whether or not these types of movies should be watched as entertainment can be summed up in the questions.
1) "Can you honestly believe Jesus would go to this movie"?
2) "If you were sitting there watching this movie, and Jesus came in and sat beside you, would you feel uncomfortable"?

Doesn't it all come down to whether or not we allow the evil to have a voice.
What I mean is, even if we are mature Christians, and are able to see through the fantasy? If we go to watch such movies, or read such books, aren't we in essence allowing the evil to speak?
Where then "is" the line drawn?

God created us with 5 senses, that means we can, and are influenced by any one, or all of them, movies are made with this in mind, their objective is the stimulation of those senses.
My point is, when you are in the movie, are you sitting there consciously thinking this is just a fantasy, or I don't really believe this, or are you just sitting there being stimulated. (Entertained)
If you are not consciously thinking about the things you are watching, then your unconscious "IS" being stimulated.
Who at that point then can say what has walked through the open door of your unconscious.
I am not saying that you become possessed, but I am saying you have opened yourself up to evil, you have in essence participated in the evil depicted. You become a part of what you expose yourself to.

If it says:

Mat 12:36
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Shall we not also be held accountable for the things we simply call entertainment?

1Th 4:4
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
2Ti 2:16
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Some have tried to use 1Cor.8 as their justification for watching these types of movies, or reading these types of books. They would say, I am free from the law, but are there any other scriptures that could be used to back up this position, there must be others which would speak far more clearly to this situation.

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
1Th 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Gal 4:18
But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing.
1Th 4:4
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Brother Timothy is not professing Legalism, but he is saying.
Eph 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Gal 4:16
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Just think about it for a second, why has Hollywood produced these movies, because they depict healthy moral Christian values?
"NO", they are doing nothing more than riding the wave of success of the Harry Potter movies, because that is just what an immoral society wants to see.

Be Blessed

Does anyone find it strange

Does anyone find it strange that the heart of God is clearly grieved in Deuteronomy when he shares his absolute abhorrance for witchcraft and we delight in it? Does anyone find it strange that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and some think he has not made friends with the devil after 4,000 years? Does anyone think it strange that Christians who love God, would honor his heart in abhorring false gods the world has chased after, even though they pretty themselves up like a harlot on the wall and call for all to come in to them?

Just wondering.....

I know full well there is

I know full well there is evil in this world and not just in the entertainment industry.

Everything your eyes see in this world is corrupt, nothing is good.

Tell me where can you go to avoid evil in this world?

When you go to work someone there or even your employer is involved in some sort of corrupt or immoral behavoiur. You see it in your Government. So do you not vote because no matter who you vote for, will do something evil. If you do not vote you allow others without a Christian conscience to elect your Government.

Do you not go visit your non-Christian family because they may do or say something that is ungodly? Do you totally ignore your parents if they are non-Christians? The Bible tells us we are to honour our parents and we are to care for them in their old age. Yet to go over to their house and interact with them even though you are contaminating yourself and exposing your children to non-Christian views and opinions.

So how do you completely cut yourself off from the world to remain Holy? Do you stop living?

I don't have a problem with having some entertainment in my life. Like my going to work it does exposes me to ungodly concepts and images. At work (I'm semi-retired at the moment) I had to put up with women wearing tops where you can see their the tops of their breasts, ungodly symbols and images (like that of Buddha) on people's desks, some swearing and even using the Lord's name in vain within earshot; just to name a few things I used to be exposed to each day. I had to try and be godly in the midst of that even though I had no control of what I would see or hear. At one place of work (a computer job for a taxi company) it was located in a hot district (prostitues and S&M shops on the streets). The ocassional things I saw there were certainly far more graphic than what I would choose to watch in a movie or on TV. I certainly choose far less ungodly stuff when I decide to partake in some entertainment at home.

So yes I know Hollywood doesn't seek to produce something for God. I have said all along you should always look to the Bible for God's Truth. Again another person who has not read all in my previous posts here.

2PE 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)-- 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.
Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. 12 But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish.

2PE 2:13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. 14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed--an accursed brood! 15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey--a beast without speech--who spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.

The reality is we are like Noah and Lot having to live in the midst of a sinful and corrupt world. I like a little escapism from that. Right now I am watching an old western series called "The Virginian" (1960s cowboy TV series). It certainly has view and ideas I don't agree with but generally there are no revealing outfits, no sex scences, nothing too violent (the occasionaly shootout of course) and no bad language. It's about as clean as you can get in this day and age. Pretty good for the early sixities when it was made. I don't look for Christian morals in it either. What I see & hear on this show is far less wicked than what I see & hear in a typical workplace of today. Is it tainted with worldliness? Yes but I don't sit here and say to myself that I have to think or act like that. I know my Bible I read it every day.

Now I am not saying Hollywood is a good thing. I am saying I need to live and there are times I watch the occasional TV show that makes me laugh, I need a laugh now and then.

What I am saying is everything in this world is tainted and we have to steal ourselves against the wickedness and corruption. Lot lived in Sodom and Gomorrah and even married a woman from that town YET the Bible says in the midst of living there LOT was Righteous. Lot was grieved and I am rightly grieved, not with just what I see on TV or read in the Newspapers but what I see & hear at my relatives houses, when I go out into the shopping malls and to the doctors office. Everywhere I look I can see & hear evil and corruption and wickedness. BUT I don't stop living. No I live in this world but I try not to be like others who are of this world.

By the way if we are both in Christ you are not my enemy but my brother. We have different views on this but we are not dicussing the basis of Christian faith here. Christ died so we might be Saved and forgiven of our sins.

I can even watch sport on TV which can also be ungodly as there are things on those programs with are not all that Christian to watch. I actually only like tennis but I have seen some football where scantilly dressed young girls a girating & twisting their bodies which is supposed to be some sort of dancing to encourage the football team {yes I was being sarcastic}.

So please don't think I am saying Hollywood is for God. Note I have not seen the latest Narnia movie (I have seen the earlier ones). I am discussing the books which I have read and stated I enjoyed them and had no problem with them as fiction and entertainment. I also stated that parents should teach the difference between Christian fiction and the Bible so their kids are aware and able to discern.

Personally I can see some good concepts and ideas in some movies and TV shows. Not of today but they did have some more Christian based morals many, many, many years ago (when I was growing up and watching some 1950s and 1960s re-runs). "Christian based" doesn't mean they were 100% accurate.

The problem is people are reading into my posts what they think I believe. Please either read my posts fully and ask what you don't understand or ask if this is what I meant, don't just jump to what you think I said. You are not correct and that is not just annoying but actually attacking my character. I will go as far as saying it is now coming down to the level of malicious lies.

By the way I have self-control over my mind. I have watched plenty of cowboy movies but I have never purchased a six gun and gone around shooting anyone. Nor do I think about it in my head.

Your five senses are working everyday. Do you continue to entertain in your head the low cut top that young good looking co-worker wore today? You have to make a conscious decision not to. That is how we deal with what we see & hear around us.

I am not going to apologise for the fact I do watch TV, read books or see the occasional movie (most are very old movies like "The Court Jester" with Danny Kaye very funny if you need a laugh and want to watch a fairly clean movie).

This is not just to Jim but those of you who ahve decided to be my moral conscience you please refrain from doing so. I have one He is the "Holy Spirit".

COL 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

COL 2:20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? 22 These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

COL 3:1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

COL 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

COL 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

COL 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I don't live in this world placing myself under some sort of legal man made rules and regulations I am free in Christ.

I see the danger for children

When I was a child my siblings and I thought it was fun to pretend we were casting spells and play occultish games. I am now ashamed of them.

Stiff as a board light as a feather was one of them. It involves an incantation and a person starts to float through demonic power.
Another was a game we made up (probably through demonic inspiration).

If we weren't exposed to movies and television shows that did stuff like this I don't think we would have been playing those games. I do admit that the movies and shows we were watching were a little more hardcore (The Craft, Charmed, Are you Afraid of the Dark, etc..) but like I said I can see the danger. Things like narnia is a little more subtle.

I'm not too keen on scripture about things like these movies, but doesn't God command us to be separate from these things? I might be mistaken on what exactly God wants us to be separate from. I'm still a newbie to the bible.

Like MelC I am just putting my 2 cents in.

In love and Jesus,
Joshua

I see the danger for children reply

Joshua,

Did you have any Christian teaching as a Child to not do these kinds of things?

My parents did. I knew at school when I was about 8 years old there was a craze of kids bringing in Ouija Boards and the kids would paly with them at lunch time and the teachers never stoped them. I knew not to and a few other girls I played with also declined invitaitons to play with the Board.

My post was not about what parents allow or don't allow their kids to watch.

It was against those who question my faith because I read Sci-Fi with ungodly characters in them. The same ungodly characters exist in the Bible.

Kids should be taught right from wrong by their parents who have every right to make decisions on what they allow their children to watch or read.

I agree with you there are many dangerous things in the media, on TV and in books that our children should not be exposed to if at all possible to shield them from it.

Cheers

Re: Re:

Hey Melody,

I don't really recall. Demons and Satan was always a taboo subject. I don't think my parents knew to teach us not to do that. (I was never taught that pretend magic was bad, my father in heaven has taught me that.) They don't take it seriously now so I doubt they did then. Actually talking about this makes me realize how convenient of a target I was when I was a child.

My poor parents :(

I wasn't targeting your post at all. I would have replied to it if I was. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

In love and Jesus,
Joshua

Hey Melody to Josh reply

Josh

No I was agreeing with you about Children being in danger.

Now my parents come from a Southern European country and very religious. Witchcraft and superstition was certainly entertained by people around us, reading coffee cups and other known occultic(not sure what other word to use) practices. My parents were very conservative Christians and they knew from the little Bible teaching they got back then, witchcraft is not a good thing to mess with. By the way my parents were not Christians just Church goers. They became Saved Believers after I did when I was an adult.

Yes you parents didn't know and couldn't warn you. My point is that Chrsitian parents (if they can) need to be well grounded in the Bible to be able to oversee what their children watch and read. Some parents aren't Christians when their kids are little and don't ahve the knowledge BUT God is good anyway. See you came to Christ even though you were exposed to things of this world and that were of the Devil. God draws us to Himself, He does the work to give us the ability to see and hear the gospel so we can turn to Him and be Saved.

I didn't take offence, I was agreeing with you on the topic of kids. I hope others here that are parents understand I respect they have to make the decisions for their kids, not me. I can present my opinion but they have to act on their own convictions and understanding of God's Word.

Cheers

Narnia Comments

We live in a corrupted world where not one thing you watch, read, or see is pure and holy. Not that you should seek to fill your mind with them but you have to live in a corrupted world and you have to work out what you need to do to not be enticed by it into Sin.

Let's see Narnia has the good guys and the bad guys. In Harry Potter the it's the bad guys against the bad guys. There is no comparison. At least C S Lewis' stories do not paint Evil as Good.

However some of you if you have a real problem with reading about anything like Witches, Dragons, Demons etc... you shouldn't be reading those kinds of books or watching those kinds of movies. Personally I am not affected by stories with wicked characters in them. I am discerning there is stuff I just don't watch. I have more trouble watching a CSI because it details the pleasure some of these killers have in murdering their victims (I have other issues with these kinds of TV shows or movies). I'm certainly not into Horror, not even the mild stuff.

I agree we certainly should be careful what we watch and read.

Now I would think that Narnia stories are a far better option than many of the other things out there. My personal opinion of course and you are entitled to have your own.

You can't get way with watching something or reading something that isn't the pure like the Bible. Even Christian documentaries are made by people who are sinners and won't be 100% right or without some kind of worldliness in them. That isn't a reason not to watch them, after all I'm not a legalist I believe God can bless even what we corrupt with our sin to His service.

None of us are 100% pure and holy and none of us will be while we remain in this world. There are many things that tempt us but we are not to cut ourselves off from the world to overcome temptation but to live in this world and resist that which tries to entice us away from the Lord. We are to live in this world and be salt and light to others.

1JN 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.**{ This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

1JN 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.}** 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

Note what the above scripture says, "he that is in you is greater than he who is in the world". I'm not overcome by Satan every time he appears in some movie or book. Satan has been dealt with by Christ and he no longer has power over Saved Believers. I am not afraid when he appears for I know where I stand in Christ.

It is a ridiculous accusation made by some in their posts that by reading books with characters that are demonic or occultic I would be tempted to leave God and follow Satan. I've been a Saved Believer now for 30 years and even when I first came to Christ I knew full well I was Saved from Satan's camp and NOW belong to God. Good grief. I was glad to be saved from Satan's grasp. I'm not stupid enough to want to go back or even desire or entertain any kind of demonic or occultic magic or spiritual power. I am now a Child of God and I have been given Eternal Life and I would certainly not give that up for anything, the enemy cannot promise me anything better. I am sure most Believers would think the same thing, they certainly don't want to go back to being under the power of the Devil now they have been Saved.

If you are so afraid to read anything that describes occultic practices (including child sacrific) witches or dragons or demons and the Devil. If stories of rape, genocide, war massacres and sexual deviancies bother you. Then I suggest you stop reading your Bible!

Honestly I can read the parts of the Bible which outlines in detail various ways mankind can sin and not be either corrupted by it or tempted to go out and try it for myself. I can also apply that same self control when I read books like the Narnia Chronicles, the Newspaper and World History Textbooks.

Of course once again I don't read just anything, but each of us needs discernment in this area like anything else. God doesn't force us to obey Him and I certainly don't need to go around playing the Morality police with other Adult Believers (despite their maturity in Christ). I had my children and they were the only ones I had responsibility to make decisions for until they became old enough to make decisions for themselves. Otherwise I can only offer my advice but all who want to coocon themsleves from the world that is up to you.

My apologies to anyone offended by this post. Not meant to offend I'm just stating my position on things.

I'm accountable for my actions before God. Those who have judged me because I am happy to watch the Narnia Movies and have read the full Chronicles of Narnia well it isn't your place to judge.

By the way I'm not upset or angry but just putting my 2 cents worth in reply.

We Must Rightly Discern Good and Evil

"Let's see Narnia has the good guys and the bad guys. In Harry Potter the it's the bad guys against the bad guys. There is no comparison. At least C S Lewis' stories do not paint Evil as Good."

That is the point, sister. Lewis's storied DO paint evil as good, and if you are to look at the "good" guys in Lewis' novels, they are evil spirits masquerading as good spirits. Aslan is chief among them. He is portrayed by Lewis as good, but is he really good by God's definition? If a spirit can be conjured up and called by children using magic spell and mystical horns, and feast with pagan deities over whom he is chief - IT IS EVIL!

The irony here is that you and twoythal have bought the lie that the good in Narnia is truly good. You have swallowed it into your very soul and are arguing from a false premise of spiritual "maturity" that is not really mature, nor rooted in the Bible definitions.

When a person is mature enough to visit "Adult" bookstores and not be defiled, they too will be mature enough to look at spiritual fornication and not be defiled.

It is an interesting discussion and I thank you for candidly sharing your thoughts on it. It brings it into the light of dialog.

Timothy Luke Narnia reply

Timothy Luke

You misunderstood my posts and you have taken your interpretation of what I am saying far beyond what I had tried to communicate.

Brother you have to stop thinking you fully know what someone else is saying by interpreting things through your own judgement.

First of all good and bad guys are terms used in films and novels to indicate the intention of a Character they are either the good one or the bad one. Human goodness is not equal with God.

Please I am no fool or simpleton. I understand that the GOODNESS of God cannot be compared to by that of any human being. God is Holy and we can only become Holy through the Blood of Christ.

ISA 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Basically if you read my posts from my point of view Narnia stories are fiction not the gospel. I made that clear I do not look to teach about God from anything BUT the Bible. The comment may have not made sense to you but others have got what I was saying.

I can see in the original books written by C S Lewis as good Christian moral teachings. Not perfect or pure. Like the Aesop's Tales they are not the Bible but try to convey good Christian morals and YES I know they may not be 100% correct according to God's Word.

If you read my posts I have regularly said when you read these with your children you need to teach them to know the difference between the Bible and Fiction or man made tales. I never said you will find God's Word(the Bible) in Stories but I have no problem with fiction as a source of entertainment. As an adult I already know the difference between God's Word and anything else we read. Not even Christian books should be held up as God's Truth, I always examine what I read by going back to the scriptures.

If you want to criticise me you should read my previous posts and NOT NEGLECT what I have clearly stated about God's Word vs Christian Fiction or any other Books.

The problem with you Timothy Luke and you don't just have this with me I have noticed that you do this to others as well. You are not able to properly understand what others are saying. You have your own way of interpreting things and pre-concieved ideas and you apply that to what others write on the Board without finding out what they actually meant. You jump to conclusions rather than take the time to ask and clarify what others have said to ensure you have understood them.

I am not writing this as a criticsm to put you down but an observation. If you want to not debate constantly with people you could develop a better way of communicating with people. Not jumping to your own ideas of what someone is saying but taking the time to understand others. You may find that you are arguing with people when in reality you actually agree or at least agree fundamentally.

I like you do hold God's Word up as the fundamental basis of ALL Truth and all Christian teaching must agree with the Bible.

The problem is you have decided to think of the Narnia books as Christian teaching. I do not! I see it as fiction. If you take the time to see that this is our difference (and I have a right to think differently) then you wouldn't be locking heads with me in debate over it.

Even though we are both in Christ and therefore members of the same body that doesn't mean we are carbon copies, especially in the way we think. We are all striving to get to know God's Word but you can't do it for someone else.

I hope you are not offended by what I have written here. I hope you have understood what I have tried to share here. If you have taken this to be pushy and overly opinionated then my apologies (not meant in that way at all). I don't know how I can communicate to you that we have differences but agree on the fundamentals of Christian faith. I do not claim to know God's Word in a very deep or mature way. I just know what I know based on what God has taught me through His teachers and by His Spirit, I may be wrong and if so I pray God will show me. Until then I can only share what I currently know and understand of His Word.

With Respect
MelC

Sister, I came to the

Sister, I came to the conclusion last night that you can't argue with these people. No matter what you say, you'll be "in sin," "deceived," "evil," "a heretic," "a false prophet," or other such like things. That's what religious spirits endeavor to do; to isolate, intimidate, finger point and tell everyone how sinful and "wrong" they are. A religious spirit can only attack. They attack ministries, churches, individuals, movies, etc. Their whole ministry is an "anti-ministry;" in other words, a ministry of being "against" something. Why? because truth is "original;" it can't be duplicated or counterfeited. A true ministry holds forth the banner of truth, and just keeps holding the banner. A religious spirit will not listen to wisdom, because they are always "right," and proving that they are right is their primary motivating force.

Brother, let me just say

Brother, let me just say this; it is obvious that you want to please God and do what's right. All I'm saying is please don't write off the things that I am saying, and the principles that Melody brought forth in her posts. At least bring them before God and be sensitive; He might want to bring you into a new level in some things, that's all. If you don't feel comfortable watching Narnia, then don't go; I'm not by any means advocating thay you violate your conscience; you need to do what you feel God has put in your heart.

Actually, I knew of a woman

Actually, I knew of a woman that would go into the porn shops and massage parlors in the ports when the ships and sailors would come into port. She would preach to them and compel them to come into the Kingdom. She had quite a ministry, and was very succesful in bringing many to the Lord. Religious Christians persecuted and attacked this woman; they tried to tell her that a "porn devil" would get on her (amongst other things), but she just kept preaching.
