Very Serious Misrepresentation of Jesus and the Church

I'm not creating this blog so we can comment on this pastor and church actions, God will judge this man and that church - altho I think we should definetly rebuke (1 Corinthians 11-13). What I wanted to talk about was how these actions are being seen as representing the church of God - with comments by this pastor such as "Why
don't we send a warning to radical Islam and say, don't do it. If you
attack us, we will attack you," when Jesus said 'love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven' Matthew 5:44-45 I can't really bring into words how disturbing this story is!

 

I just feel that the true church of God should make some kind of a stand against this, in the form of maybe a facebook page clearly stating that the church of God does not condone or support this pastors actions and are against them, saying Jesus said we should love your enemies etc etc. Just to let the world know in some way that God does not support this, this is not representative of christianity. I would ask michael or Timothy Luke or someone on this site to possibly look into this. I've sent the pastor a rebuking message earlier, via his website, http://www.islamisofthedevil.com/ - which is quite sickening (the website).

FB Page

There is a facebook page called Everybody against Pastor Terry Burns burning the holy Quran & it has close to 10,000 people.


There is also a page supporting Terry Jones  with 8,000.


 


I also sent a rebuke to the pastor.  The church is small with about 50 families.  He  carries a pistol at all times.  This is not what I would  endorse as a sincere pastor  but one who spreads & sells hate with his books, t-shirts, coffee mugs...May God open his heart to the true Christ of the Bible.

There are several smaller pages on FB that are ok from the Christian perspective..They have a small amount of people.


 


The page I put has Christians responding & non-Christians but it is hate built upon hate & f-bombs are exploding...


 


I am sorry to have put this on the site before digging into the FB page....

I checked out the FB page, it's trickey, cause when we rebuke someone
it needs to be done with firmness but also in love with the call to repent, wheras that page having a red line through his face, is more like just being anti the pastor and church - which will again lead to more hate. I was hoping for some kind of page representing the church, saying like 'Terry Jones and the burning of the Quran is not representative of God's true church' or something like that - with christians declaring this in comments, declaring that Jesus taught the opposite etc.

 

Anyway, I'm not in a position of
leadership so don't feel comfortable setting up such a page, but felt
that as a member of the body had the authority in the Lord to send a
rebuking letter, so will leave it at that. Ta for doing the same warrior daughter :)

What will the burning of the Quran do but inflict more harm upon others????


I agree that Christians should email the pastor in Florida for he is stirring up things that must not be stirred...Has the pastor heard from God to do this???Absolutely not...


 


You are not the only one disturbed by the actions of this church & this church will have consequences to their actions.  May the people of this church receive wisdom & not involve themselves in the plans of the leadership...

Ye, I did sent a rebuking email quoting Jesus in Matthew 5:43-45

'You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.'

and two other scriptures from Matthew 7:21-23 and Galatians 5:19-23.

 

I just pray and hope that they repent in earnestness. Its very saddening to see God's church being represented so contrary to the word and His heart.
