Think like God, Talk like God

God’s character is revealed in His Word. As we pour over the Word of God in our time with Him we become acquainted with God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit – the third person of the Trinity.

The Word of God will begin to affect your life for good. You begin to think like God as you reflect on His Words during the day, and you will begin to recognize what is NOT of God also. It builds your discernment and helps you when you need God’s guidance. Your spirit will become “alive” to God’s Word, and you start to think like God thinks and talk like God talks.

As we journey through the Christian life, we begin to set our lives in order and start to live the way God shows us according to His Word. Psalm 50:23 says “He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honours and glorifies Me; and he who orders his way aright – who prepares the way that I may show him – to him I will demonstrate the salvation of God. (Amplified) The Bible calls this being a doer of the Word. In the New Testament James talks about the man who looks in the mirror and then walks away and doesn’t correct his image. What person doesn’t fix their image when they look in the mirror? In the same way, as we “look” into the Word of God, we are to adjust our lives to His Word and live it. This is called being a ‘doer’ of the Word. Today, many Christians have ‘created’ a god in their own image rather than conform their lives to His image – Christ. We become Christ-like by looking at Christ and His Word. He is the Word.

Faith always has a good report. You cannot pray effectively for yourself or for someone else and then talk negatively about the matter. This is being double-minded and a double-minded man receives nothing from God. James 1:6-8

As you meditate upon God’s Word and let it permeate your thinking and talking, it will affect your actions. People will respond to what they ‘see’ and you will find that people see that you are different and like what they see. This will open opportunities to witness and to counsel others. With the storehouse of the Word in you, you will be able to counsel accurately those who ask for your help.

Great!

"Faith always has a good report. You cannot pray effectively for yourself or for someone else and then talk negatively about the matter."
Great article on Think like God, Talk like God. I especially liked this quote and I feel that it applies directly to my life today. I know that we cannot afford to grow weary in our christian lives and that God uses His Word along with our obedience to transform us more into the image of His Son Jesus.
I am going to study this prayerfully and ask God to give me His super natural grace every day not only to be a 'hearer, but also a doer of His Word.
Thanks for the excellent article!
