The "Fall from Grace" of Pastor Ted Haggard

I am Deaf, many of you not knoweology about Deaf Culture or Deaf world, excuse me for my " Amercia english" is my second language and Deaf (ASL) is my first english. Hope you will understand my english.

I grow up in Christian Oprhange in korea and adopted by wonderful amercia amazed christian mother. I have seen so many christian world as I grow and often see many pastor(s) to preach in church. for a example. I went to Bible college in somewhere northwest state for two yrs then I got married, in durning our marriage was fallen apart and I prayed, pray, pray as begg to heal our the marriage but somehow it contuine falling aparts, I pray and felt that need to see our pastor where we used go to that large church, I went in church office and i saw many 'Leader' Ministry. asked one lady who work there to see if I could talk to pastor, the office minstry kept too busy without really "notice or put in a person's need first' so i waited for a while, finally a other lady who is married to asst-pastor's wife came to me and asked me 'how can i help you?" I explained it to her about my marriage problem and wish to have a head of pastor and wife but that lady told me that " need to make an appoitment to see them" so did till on that day, I went in and saw head pastor's wife walk in the lobby room as well as she smile with polite and manner to people around her, finally the pastor came and called me go in his office. I explained it to him about the marriage problem, he said I need to talk with asst-pastor who is work with the couple/marriages counselor, while i was think as said in my head. "wonder is that pastor put himself too busy with other things that is more an important? in durning at the moment i saw in his eyes seems too much forcus on other things and was wonder if does he really DID pray about my marriage to help or what? in the fact, he didnt help at almost nothing. so i went out with my sad and my last of hope. i saw his wife sit in lobby and chats with other poeple with laughs " so I went home and I pray as I told it is OVER THE MARRIAGE, so did got divcored as I gave it up. not just that pastor's issues but in my experiences life that seems lot of pastors have no time for themselves and family but have time for fall-sin by poeple around to pastor..
I grow up with NO TRUST WITH LOT PASTORS even in natural T.V. in Korea I grow up with christian orpahange. the Truely amazed amercia Missionary who set up the christian orphanage, she was been very busy travels to raise the funds to providers for christian orphanage and never have time to met each of many children's needs or wants. I sometime think about her (her name is Rev- Maxine Strobrighton last name spelling is not sure a correct but anyway she passed away in many years ago by cancer in her body. I KNOW that she is much more bless by God's eyes in her work as a missionary leaders, not just in one korea but she been set up open the orpahange in two different country (deaf orpahanges.) she never married or either no children of her own, I remembered her very well, she often polish-nails colors on many girls as we girls so happy to have some beauity colors-nails with her GREAT Love-warms emotionals to many children even she doesnt have time for us. not just orpahange but she been fights to get some approval new laws for Deaf's rights and indepdance to have a own- church(s) able to worship God in church, been some successful but not compeletly yet. because of other Pastors who work with her, has been become 'republiation, Vain, control, powers that put Maxine down to fall but she fights back as she knew it is God's wills not human-pastors sin and desires for some their goal reasons. In a fact, other Pastors who work for Maxine, been abusived many orpahange children with woods/metals and put in hole of grounds and sexual molested. other things. when i was in east of state where i grow up with loving adopted mother, she took me to Deaf church under by hearing Church. I grow trust with Deaf Pastor and expression my past and pastor end it up spread it out with his family about my past and my family with bad repbulations and destory as I knew that pastor's wife is famous for Gossip and judgements. I remember very well that Deaf pastor called me "I feel alike you are my second Daugther" but questions is ... why does he said with his Lies words?" but all i can see is ... that family are destory themselves that effect memeber of people church and learn to become Judgements and gossip.

I believe in that Most Pastors should learn about a reality of human poeple who desires to hear about truthful God and they as a family need to learn a truthful to themselves first before become a pastor leader in many God's children. IN my strongely believe that many Minstry or Leader of pastors are in needs to have a professional counselors before become a leader in wide of national or in country or state. especially any wifes of pastor need to go to bible college or get a women's groups to learn about 'trust, honest, kind, love to others as love to herself first and respect for others as she respect her pastor husband' I was in bible college and doesnt learn about women or wives to pastor or leader minstry's roles all i learn is as push and go to anywhere what God's wills to send.
I know you will tell me " not just pastors or missionary leaders people are responbiblity for people but God put a bless on leader and put trust into leader to preach to world, you probably will say " you are bitter or angry or obessive or whatever but truth is i am not, just that where i seen so many false pastors lead to wrong sin path and fall in sin. many people who are look up at leader and believed in leadership. I would like to see lot of pastors and wifes -family need to learn truthful in to themselves first before it will destory themselves and others.

One of you mentioned about "forcus on God's feeling first" I do agreed with you but again, you cant just sit down on your big ass and pray as forcus on God without help others, because many pastors or leadership are in needs your help to pray and help them to give a truthful and remind, look at recently in T.V. news national/ embrassed by a pastor who admited that he was in sin with 'Gay' history even he married to wife and family ... i saw the tv news.. that pastor walked thru= crowds people. he tried to shake his hand to people but most of them refused to give a shake-hand, only one man did. my point is... how many poeple are look at judgements what he did in the past, remind ourselves. pastor is a human and have some sin in our lives, two things... one is .. did that pastor get some help? maybe not, because of vain, power, plenty of attentions and moneys and 'perfecation christian family as MASK-FAMILY" Second is... why people become a judgements to many issues because of lies/serects lifes, who is resopionbiblty? you will say it is our responbiblity for our sin and pastors have no responbiblity but only preaching God's truth-words.
Let me tell you to many PASTORS, You dont have a really 'JOB' because God is give you a job to share the his (God) messages to his children, if God didnt call you as a pastor, what will you do with your life "you might be end up work for a facotry job or regual jobs to live as supports yourself and probably a family, you wont be in 'Famous -face" in the national world. you are "so what" but remind yourself, be Thankful God that he gave it to you. why will you lies and end it up with sin- powers, moneys, too good to be true and lies in family>? alike "Lilith" Cain or Eve or.
only two poeple in bible. went home in heaven without suffered thru- because they truely to God and power faith.

It apply to not just pastors or leadership but to all of people. we have a choice alike i did choosed the wrong path and end it up divcored the marriage because of my angry against God "why not you just help me if you truely love me and heal but didnt, because my heart was deep hole and darkness, only able to see it from that.

You have time for sex, mastubate, watch any favor-t.v. shows, foods, drinks, shopping, social people, internets webs alike you are in 'judgements's opntions by any doucments of bible or history , porno-internets, internets -chats, whatever the names you are doing, but no time for yourself >> and for God's desires from us and help others>>, all i can see is ... they have time for (Judgement, favorist by some people or "fit in the crowds", gossip, rude, snobby-nose, moneys-greedy, good time, sex, lies, hightly Educations. how about go in to fits and help a poor, no job, no home, no moneys, suffering in their lives, no loves, no family as God truely love them and why dont you help them? because you ddint get some help yourself first anyway.

I am try to remind myself, any pastors who believe in God, I have to look at God and not look at pastor because knew that pastor is no "pure" or holy, pastor is a human and have a flaws of sin and realized myself that any pastor or leader is worst of all than people but i have to Thankful that God gave it to pastor and miinistry to people who is able to found the truth God as Jesus's amazing loves and truth of words, there is a HOPE FOR ALL OF US able go home with Jesus one day soon.

ted is already a reverend, he should have walk daily with God.
just because were christians we should not abuse the Grace of God.
if youre a Pastor you should walk uprightly and with holyness.
because God says. Be HOly for I am holy.

Pastor Ted should know this because he already established his congregation, he is not a baby christian.

Who can separate us from the LOVE of CHRIST ?

It is the Love of Chirst that commands all GRACE, I repeat, ALL GRACE to abound where SIN abounds.

Who among us having our child become dirty throw him away ? Do we not take him more lovingly and give him a wash ? Then love him more than before ?? Yes, It may irritate us for a while. Yet, this does not destroy our LOVE for the child !! We being so carnal that boast of spirituality; love our dirty child, then; will not GOD love, TED ?

Only ONE SPIRITUAL GIANT lived a " LIFE of NO SIN " when in flesh. He is Jesus Christ. This is the only Son of MAN in whom God is well pleased.

No person in the BODY OF CHRIST can boldly declare that he/she is HUNDRED PERCENT RIGHTEOUS and has not sinned in thoughts, words or deeds ( all three together or individually ). All of us, in these last days have our own secret sins. Sin is so deceitful that we do not recognise it. The GRACE of GOD is sufficient for us all and for all of our sin.

For our sin which we do not KNOW or ACKNOWLEDGE or UNDERSTAND the Grace of our LORD takes care of it more forcefully than a force of thousand TSUNAMIS.

Everyone of us needs to thank GOD for His grace. Having done this, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit. We constantly contaminate our flesh in various ways and also our spirit in various ways with other spirits. Again, we mix-up and stir up the contamination of our flesh and spirit. This is because we do not know HOLINESS. We do not know GOD, as we ought to know. We know about HIM but not HIM. OBEY GOD and we will know HIM. We are very childish in our spiritual intimacy with GOD. We need to PERFECT IN OUR HOLINESS in the FEAR OF GOD.

Walk daily with GOD in all holiness. Our obedience to the LORD's teachings and to the guiding of the Holy Spirit makes "our walk with GOD".This our determination will allow the HOLY SPIRIT to abide in us constantly as we believe and obey Jesus Christ our Saviour. As time passes, every other spirits in us will flee and GOD's Spirit take charge of our heart/spirit and grant us life that is GOD glorifying.

this is sad , maybe he did not read the bible and pray for God's mercy.
everyday as a christian we should read the bible and pray to the holy spirit
so that we can be strong against all the temptation of the devil.
maybe he thought that as a pastor he does not need to meditate the word. because he already has a high place in the church.
Sad to say he bring shame to all christians. being a teacher and a pastor
he should have taken care of his faith rather than follow his desires.

I am so relieved at the mercy that is being shown to Ted. This past Sunday our Pastor asked us to pray for him and his family. So often times we do shoot our wounded, casting them aside as one who just couldn't stand. What happens when we are in that same place? When we have fallen into sin, and no one is there to help us up? So often times we point the finger and talk maliciously, but Satan is the real perverted enemy that has worked along time to wear him down. I have too many times judged other people for sin and wanted God to judge with harshness. Homosexuality and anything to do with that is an abomination to God, yet in the list of abominations is found haughty eyes, a lying tongue and a person who sows discord among brothers. God is a merciful and loving heavenly Father, Whose Holy Spirit is groaning with words that cannot be expressed. This is the picture of God that I want! God is a God of restoration and He desires us and loves us even in our sin! Even if we have walked with God all our lives, or have turned away at times. Wow! What a wonderful merciful God! Jesus died for this very reason and He is at the right hand of the Father praying and interceding for us! None of us are beyond sin. Lets pray ernestly for Ted and his family and also remember that God's mercy toward Ted is also toward us. He doesn't want any of us to go to hell. Let's fight the real battle, not flesh and blood. I commend the church for the attitude that we are choosing to take! I am so thankful that it's not rocking the church like the devil wanted! It's actually going to be used to win the battle against hell. Keep looking to our merciful God and let this be a testimony of God's grace, that He truly is a Shepherd who will leave the 99 to look for the one. I stand in awe!

Having read the comments to your posting, Michael, I realize that one of my key observations, coming from years of study and practice in Christian counseling, takes a bit different angle. Perhaps it is one that most Christians would rather avoid because it opens many tough, gut-wrenching issues, both for individuals and collectively for churches, and the body of Christ.
What I refer to is how sexuality is looked at, understood and handled among Christians. The issues are much broader and deeper than sexual “orientation,” though that may be the most emotionally laden aspect. It is not just the experience of Ted Haggard, but many other sincere Christians, including men like Mel White, many years a key Billy Graham associate, which should tell us there needs to be a deeper, less culturally-driven look at all types of data on human sexuality, including the biological, sociological, psychological, etc.

My response is not as a minister of God but as a child of a "Holy" God. I support your comments regarding God revealing things to his prophets before they happen. As christians our responsibility is to lift up our leaders to God and ask God to reveal who we are serving under. If your way is pure before the LORD he would reveal areas of your leader's life that needs intercession.

I don't accept that the Pastor Ted's exposure would taint God's name nor shock him. God is no longer content with Leaders professing to stand for him, whilst contaminating his people through their perversion. Is it not his word that says Judgement would start from his house.

My prayer for Pastor Ted & his family is that God visits them afresh with his mercy and grace.

As we enter into the last days before the return of Christ satan is going about his business of deceiving god's

In this group there are profits,people with gift 7 of the nine gifts of the spirit,and other gifts of the spirit.
America could not understand why god allowed what happened in new york.

We just had another ministery come down a while back,because he said that god told him that everybody is going to
be saved.and that no one is going to hell.
He started preaching this because he thought god told him this because he has the holy spirit.

I agree with Mike Holohan. My heart goes out to all who were directly affected by this situation. Ted Haggard accomplished the first step to true repentance - that is confession of his sins and asking forgiveness from those he wronged.

Now is the true test - will he truly turn from his ways? Will he lean on God when he needs God the most? How will his family react? Will they support him in this time of trials and need? Will they lean on God for support?

My prayer is that Ted is truly repentant and sincere about wanting to have this sin removed from his life. If her truly desires a cleansing God will give him one. He must truly TRUST in God and give everything over to God in order to be successful at overcoming this sin. Sexual sin is the most devastating because of the stronghold it can have on one's entire being and because of the way it affects one's family - especially his marriage. Ted will continue to be tempted by this from time to time and will have to remember where to gain his strength - from God.

I truly pray for Ted's wife, Gayle. I pray that she is strong and steadfast. I pray that she will truly TRUST God in this matter and give Ted to God for cleansing. Gayle cannot change this part of Ted, it is up to Ted to allow God to change him. This has to be hard for Gayle because the feelings she has to be having are those of not having any control over the situation, feelings of betrayal and devastation. Her life has been turned upside down and what did she do to ask for it to happen. With God's love she will be okay and be stronger for this whole situation. I pray God will wrap his loving arms around her and that he will pick her up and carry her when she can't walk on her own.

God will never leave Gayle's side. God will never leave Ted's side either. God doesn't leave us - we leave him.

yes so very sad, it brings to mind in Corinthians where we learn that the perfect will come and then we will all see clearly. so much debate and to think that all God really wants out of us is to love God with all our hearts souls and minds, and to love one another as ourselves. If we have that love, Gods law is fullfilled because the perfect love of God does not sin.

Yes, I was saddened by the news of Pastor Ted; I have followed his ministry for a few years now. However, I am that much more motivated to stand for Christ. I agree with your comments. I believe that as leaders we must be ever so sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, after all He is our “teacher, guider, comforter, and friend.” I find today that leaders do not respond to that prompting, (we teach it, but are we living what we teach). No man is above temptation, however, you can defeat it by taking a stand against sin totally and following the promptings of the Holy Spirit. My prayers are with that family and church.

I was also deeply saddend for Pastor Haggard. When I heard the news I began to pray for his restoration. Galatians 6:1-5. My heart aches for him, his family as well as his church family. I believe that we as believers need to hold our brother up in prayer. The world already views him as the lowest on the earth. Pastor Haggard needs to know that we are praying for him and love him. We serve a God who forgives and restores. Yes, we serve a God who chastens those whom He loves also.

Pastor Haggard, there are people who are praying for you and your family. 1 John 1:9. God bless you during this time.

i am a Filipino, i don't know about pastor Ted, nor heard his sermon or read his books, but i was saddened by this news, i really don't know the real issue here... but if it's true... as Christians....we must not judge him... we should continue to pray for him and his family....this only shows that our leaders really need our prayers, we must shield them with our prayers. This is also a reminder for us to make our relationship with Christ as a "serious business"

It's very sad to hear this and rightnow i'm thinking of the family, friends, church members and everyone who is disappionted in their pastor. This man has a passion for Jesus and lost souls and I can feel his grief. Because he has sin as you wrote, I also have sin and that's very sadden. Non of us will really understand his action, but we can help him true prayer and encourage him with letters. Jesus forgive's everyone who wants to repent from their sin and I know that as a minister of Christ he knows what to do.
I'm amazed to read the news Micheal and very sad because I respect this man of God and will never lose my trust in him.
The body of christ has to restore and all of us need to pray together and help to church to overcome this. Please help me to pray for him as I also will pray for all of you.

The sentiment and prayer from Mike Holohan I agree with, I am at the beginning of my ministry and find this road lonely and hard. yet i am building a support network of close trusted friends with whom i can walk openly and transparently with, this revelation makes me question where his friends were and what support he had. It appears very little for this to have happened, those who are close to him share the blame. This man now needs the church support, love and GRACE, yes he committed a sin now the body of Christ needs to surround him and his family in love and lift them back up to aid his forgiveness and the healing of the man and his family. His ministry may well be finished for a time but as a lost soul Christs heart still longs for him. But like Peter Christ is still seeking him out to give him forgiveness.
May the Grace and the Love of God bring Healing and Restoration back into the Body of Christ. May he and his family find those that will not reject them but extend a loving hand to help a fallen brother, as Christ does, so we need to also. The healing of the man and his family is paramount through the Cross. We do not leave them at the foot of the Cross to fend for themselves.

This is a sad news to hear that a saved soul has fallen short. It is more sad because when Jesus talks of a tree being recognized by its fruit, we living in Muslim world have to listen to remarks that Christianity promotes evil things just because of such Pastors. We Christians are bold in exposing Priests and others related to Church but are very weak in picking out people from other religions doing the same.

Anyhow I pray that God shows His mercy on Him. But I strongly disagree with Prophet Martin Young when he compares disciples with the pastor. They denied Jesus because they were not destined to be crucified with Jesus. Jesus alone was responsible for salvation. I always pray to God, that people bearing western names may speak something to glorify Jesus after reading and understanding the Word of God and should not and must not use their own intelligence to interpret the Bible and its incidences.

These personal interpertations of the Bible tells others that what we believe in has contradictions.

Through this blog I request, if the Pastor has sinned and fallen short of glory, it is upto him to repent and seek forgiveness. It is not right to hold a blog on someone's sin. We all are sinners, we all have committed adultery sometime or the other in our hearts, we have murdered people in our hearts, so as Christ said, Mat 7:3 "Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when the beam is in your own eye?

I am not defending anyone here. But see such blogs are protrayed differently in our part of the world. I went to office and one of my colleagues pointed out to me "Have you read the story about Pastor Ted Haggard?" I said no, so she should me the news on internet, then I had many sending me the story through intranet. Remember, I hold a senior position in the company of 15,000 employees and I am the only christian.

If someone has sinned, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS AN ISSUE as if whole Christianity is on his shoulders and now we have no one to trust on. We all sin in secret and openly.

We must pray for Pastor Hoggard that he may repent and his repentance is accepted.

This man needs our prayers and our support... Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

It is amazing to me when I see Christians condemn Christian leaders like this, no one knows his struggles, no one knows the weight or the burden he has to carry and no one knows the assignment that satan has against him... When I was studying for ministry my Pastor used to say, "never judge a man of God until you have walked in his shoes" The premise being he is one a different level of faith and ministry than I am so I can't judge him until I get to that level because I don't undersand what it takes to walk at that level...

My prayer is that this man will be humbled by God and restored in his faith... I pray that it will strengthen him and his resolve to go all out for God, more than ever before... and in his latter days he will accomplish far more than he did in his former days...

I pray for his family that they will have the courage and the strength to stand by him and support him through this and that they will not despair and lose heart...

I pray for true spiritual Christians to surround him and support him and love him until he repents and is restored...

While I am of course saddened by what the media portrays Pastor Haggard as saying and what Haggard himself admits to. There are two sides to every story and the truth is somewhere in the middle that only the Lord Himself knows. I myself have been victim of the way the media twists anything spoken so I don't necessarily believe what I hear or read. Haggard may have suddenly and unexpectedly snapped, it happens more and more these days...professionals that crack, pastors are no exception. He may be in denial of all his stress, knew what he was doing was wrong and couldn't stop. Certainly he and his family are to prayed for in their pain, humiliation and any other damaging emotions they are and will be feeling. I hope others will consider the psychology behind this and "judge not, that ye be not judged."

I was greatly saddened by this news of Brother Haggard. And I too, wondered why more people were not able to discern the spirit/spirits that have disturbed him for so many years. In the past I have seen him preaching on TV and there was something about him that I found unnerving, so I would change the channel. I felt the same unease as I saw him in the TV interview on Thurs. A good friend of mine just wrote to me about this and also felt the same uneasiness. Her Pastor has known Brother Haggard for 20 years and didn't have a clue...
I pray that he and his family will draw closer to the L-rd at this time of extreme soul-searching. I pray that his children will not become bitter and angry, but will be able to keep their eyes on Jesus. I pray for the salvation of Mr. Jones, and I will say that after seeing him on some of the interviews, he seemed to be more genuinely contrite about this whole mess than Brother Haggard.

Money and sex seem to be the temptation hardest to resist. But there is no temptation that God's Holy Spirit cannot give us the victory, if we acknowledge that we are being tempted. Have we as the church of Jesus Christ made it so hard for people, especially in leadership, to seek help and admit there are problems, which give rise to pride.This guy is no greater sinner than any of us, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. His is more on show for all now to know about but it does not change the love of God for him. He can turn from his sin and be restored. Whether or not he could stand before God's people depends on how we see ourselves as better than those who fall into temptation or not. I pray that he is truly repentant. If he is not able to help himself then he should seek deliverance as it would seem to me that demonic forces are controlling his flesh exsistance. The flesh of mankind is the last thing to die even when we claim it has it has a habit of raising itself up again.

I'm a "new Christian" and my opinion on this matter is this...When the news broke I prayed for the pastor,before he admitted anything.When the news broke I prayed for the pastor and his kinda confession.In the end it isnt me that needs to forgive him.I dont know what he has done and its not my business to know.God knows his heart and God is the only one the pastor needs to confess to.He doesnt need my forgiveness,only Gods.If the pastor is truely repentant for his sins,which btw are no worse than the ones we all commit everyday,then God has forgiven him.I pray for strength for his wife and family also.I pray they trust in the one and only true God,Amen

Our Pastor mentioned about the allegations towards Pastor Ted Haggard and encouraged us, as the Body of Christ, to pray for him and offer grace, mercy, and compassion. So often we dangerously enter into judgement, become "religious" about anothers' sin and then beat up the wounded.

Christ's heart was always about restoration, both physically, mentally and spiritually of His children. Let's not forget that repentance, and restoration are available to ALL of us, when we sin.

Far better is it, for the sin to be brought into the Light so that freedom can come.

Lord, bless Pastor Haggard, I pray that you will be with Him in a powerful way. Restore him according to your Word. Defeat the efforts of the enemy to seek to destroy this man. I also ask Lord that you put your hand over the mouth's of your children who would speak harshly about this situation, that they not curse in their words. Have mercy on us all. Thank you Lord that you are above sin and man's opinions.

What gall from pastor Haggard. His family and church are the only ones to feel for... but I can't imagine that there weren't many, many blatant clues. So far, I haven't seen any genuine contrition on the pastor's part. This kind of sin indicates a deep spiritual perversion. The church was correct to kick him out. Don't think sexual sins aren't pervasive in churches today. Such hypocrisy. Satan's having himself a real field day, no?

The Apostle Peter, one of the three most closest men to Jesus denied the Lord three times. Jesus told Peter, "When you are CONVERTED, strengthen the brethren."

All twelve of the Apostle forsook Jesus when He needed them most. Literally DENYING Him before men.

Jesus said, "If you DENY me before men, I will deny you before my Father in heaven."

Pretty serious charges brought against the twelve closest men to Jesus. But eleven repented and were restored to ministry.

I too pray that he doesn't fall into dispair and deep discouragement over the news of his moral failure coming into the public.

I DO NOT condone the sins that Pastor Haggard has over time fallen into. But my heart breaks for him, his family, his church. Because we most often "shoot our wounded" instead of "pouring in the oil and the wine" of grace and mercy. The Word says that if we do not show mercy to others, we will not receive mercy from the Lord when we need it.

I feel that the sins in all our lives, if they were made public would have some of pulled from public ministry. If not, they would bring imbarrishment to the name of Jesus and the chruch. It is only the daily process of sanctification, the working with the Holy Spirit Who works with us to change us from what we are, into the image of Jesus, OVER TIME, that gives me hope for myself. It is knowing that I can confess my sins and He is faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from ALL unrighteousness. It is knowing that if I fail Him 70 times 7 in a day, and I humbly go to Him and ask for forgiveness, He will IMMEDIATELY forgive me. He will then IMMEDIATELY begin the restoration process to get me back on track and able to use the lesson of this failure to minister to someone else who may fail in the same manner.

Ted Haggard is just a flesh and blood man. He is somewhere along the road was tempted by the Devil and started to live a double life. Don't you know the shame and the misery that he had to have been in all this time, knowing that the Word says, "be sure your sins will be found out", would one day apply to him? Do you know the guilt and sheer horror of knowing what this was going to do to his wife, family and church when this sin was brought to light?
I am amazed the pressure alone didn't drive him to commit suicide, rather than have to face what he is facing now.

My heart breaks for this flesh and blood man, who truly loves the Lord and His people and is feeling like most of the church is against him.

The Word reminds ME, "Let him that stands, take heed, lest he falls."

Let us love the sinner and hate the sin. Let us restore this man of God with all grace and mercy as we would expect from the Lord, and NOT FROM HIS CHURCH.

My heart aches for this pastor who, like all of us, have feet of clay. It was so much on my heart that I wrote him a letter and enclosed a document that I have on "Feet of Clay," with the hope that it will bring some comfort to his heavy heart. I'm sorry for his family and his church family, as well. I pray that God will heal the pain and that God's grace and mercy and love will bring him to a place of repentance and restoration.

It is very upsetting to hear abour Pastor Haggards fall....from Grace.

Well, for sure we live I know in my heart in End Times.

This is going to happen, and yet!, it is very hard for some of us to take in.
Resisting the devil, would seem for some just too hard.

My concern is that the world that is not saved, will view this as intolerable.!

My heart is broken for him, his church, and ministry.
I would point out that there is within the best of us some bad and within the worst of us some good. The sin that he has committed does not take away the good that he has accomplished.

The Bible says that Pride goes before a fall. I must humble myself before God and the Congregation I serve. I must always be open and honest and submitted to the Body of Christ. It appears this pastor has done that now.
Much damage could have been avoided had he done so long before now.

I ask, How can we develope a place and an openess within our fellowship where such oppeness can exist. What would have happened if he had made a confession years ago of his secrete sin and weakness. Would he have found love and forgivness and help, or rejection. Was he unable to
confess because of the atmosphere we have within the Body of Christ?

Perhaps it is time to restore the Confessional Booth to the Protestant Evangelical Movment.

Someone said that the Army of God is the only army that finishes off it's wounded. There are many wounded in this case. Let the healing begin.
