Some believe that we create our own reality and that all religions might be just as valid in their own way as any other belief system.

I'm sure that many people of different religions seriously believe the teachings of their religion. But I believe there are limits to the reality we can create through our own beliefs. Once death occurs, in my view anyway, which is based on the teaching of Jesus, souls will go to the spiritual kingdom they died belonging to, and after that there is going to be an eternal judgment and a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. read more »

Do Science and Belief in God really conflict?

We may admit that some Christians do bad science. This may be especially true of those who argue for a young earth (e.g. one less than 50000 years old). But belief in God and even the Bible itself does not require one to believe in such theories. Even the word for day "yom" in the Biblical accounts in Genesis 1 and 2 certainly need not stand for 24 hours. Is God Really Good?

It is natural to ask, especially at times of pain or suffering in our own lives: "If there is a good God, why does he allow so much pain and suffering?"

Other people are more aggressive in their approach. They say that the Bible itself proves that God is evil, according to any standard of human decency. But see below.

The truth of Christianity stands or falls with one central issue: the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from death. Christians traditionally celebrate this event on Easter, but it is relevant for every day actually. If this really happened, then everyone should listen carefully to all that He taught. Is the Bible the only historical evidence that Jesus called the Christ ever lived on earth?

Communists taught that Jesus never even existed. Are Christians foolishly relying on a made-up story about a Jesus that never even existed? Do Christians believe that Jesus exists or existed only because "the Bible says so" or are there other reasons for believing in Jesus' existence?

Can We Trust Holy Books?

Unless we have good reasons, we should not totally trust any of the major Scriptures of the world's religions. The simple reason for this is that they contradict each other. Some of them contradict themselves quite seriously!

The Qu'ran recommends the prophetic writings which came before it, but it is doubtful if Mohammed ever read them himself. According to the Hadeeth, on one occasion where the Torah was brought to him he didn't even want to look at it. read more »

Here we have the saying of an great influential thinker, who was by no means a Christian. Multitudes of great minds have believed and do believe in God's existence, but today some would have us think that belief in God is illogical, foolish and incompatible with observable facts. read more »
