Objections Answered to Deliverance Ministries

Clearing Up Some Misconceptions

First of all, its important to say that the position that a Christian can have a demon in them IS NOT the same as saying a Christian can be possessed by a demon or an unclean spirit. The word "possession" implies ownership. We belong to Jesus, we have been bought with a price, and therefore, no one should be arguing that a Christian can be possessed by demons.

Secondly, the Greek Word "daimonizomai" has been incorrectly translated with the word "possessed" in many Bibles. read more »

Spiritual Warfare Praying

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)

Real Christians are involved in a spiritual conflict. This is a fight in which guns and tanks are of no use. Paul said, "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood". The conflict is not with people, or nations, but with Satan and his demons. We need to recognise that many times when people oppose us, the reason behind it is spiritual. read more »

Where can we find a revival?

A real Christian would naturally be very interested in revival and awakening. In recent years, certain streams have begun in the Body of Christ which have had considerable influence in a short time. One thing is clear, intelligence alone is no defense against deception - no matter who is right. My personal view is that we should major on majors, and minor on minors. read more »

The Message of Haggai

I heard a message in church this morning from a visiting speaker on the book of Haggai.

God said in Haggai 1:4: "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?"

Now I know this is a favorite verse of pastors seeking to raise money for church building projects. Without it being explicitly stated, people quickly associate the "temple" that needs to be rebuilt with the church building which needs to be constructed. Its the typical Old Covenant mentality of special priests and holy temples to be supported by the common laity. read more »

Repentance from Dead Works

Introduction

In previous lessons, we have seen the wonderful provision that God has made for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We have seen that this work of God for us was designed to reverse all the effects of man's rebellion against God. All the bad things that we deserve were put on Jesus at the cross, while all the blessings of the Kingdom that belong to Jesus we share in through the cross and the resurrection.  read more »

How the Spirit of Religion fights the Spirit of God

Definition: by the spirit of religion we mean that group of evil spirits which inspire loyalty to religious concepts and practices in such a way as to oppose and possibly to counterfeit the true work of the Holy Spirit.

Satan knows he cannot stop people from being religious. He therefore seeks to pervert the religious instinct of mankind by deception. All religious deceptions work to draw men away from glorifying and enjoying Christ. Religious spirits work in many different ways, and with many different tactics. read more »

Preparation for Ministry

The Word of God challenges us to put on the whole armour of God. Ephesians 6:10,11.

We are to have feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

What does this mean?

Lets look at each part of it. What do these words mean?

The word gospel means 'good news'. What does the word 'peace' mean? The Word used in Greek is 'eirene' and comes from a root word meaning 'to join or make one'. read more »
