The Church - a lesson by Ps John Iuliano

WE BELIEVE the Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the First-born which are written in heaven - (Eph 1:22,23; 2:22; Heb 12:23).

Introduction.

The average person's response to the word 'church', is steeples, stained glass windows, and a huge pipe organ. read more »

Heaven and Hell - Section II - At the Master's Feet

The Disciple,—Master, some people say that the comfort and joy that believers experience are simply the outcome of their own thoughts and ideas. Is this true?

The Master,—1. That comfort and abiding peace which believers have within themselves is due to My presence in their hearts, and to the life-giving influence of the fullness of the Holy Spirit. As for those who say that this spiritual joy is the result only of the thoughts of the heart, they are like a foolish man who was blind from his birth, and who in the winter time used to sit out in the sunshine to warm himself. read more »

Prayers for Spiritual Fullness

Lord, fill us with your Spirit just like you want us to be! (Ephesians 5:18)

Lord, bless us with hunger and thirst for righteousness, and fill us (Matt. 5:6)

Grant us, O God, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. (Eph. 3:16-17) read more »

The Cross and the Mystery of Suffering - Part II

1. In the bitter cold of winter the trees stand bare of leaves, and it seems as if their life, too, had departed for ever, yet in the spring time they put forth new leaves and beautiful flowers, and the fruit begins to show itself. So was it with Me in My crucifixion and resurrection, and so it is with my faithful cross-bearers (2 Cor. iv.8-11; vi.4-10). Though they seem to be crushed and dead beneath their cross they still put forth the beautiful flowers and glorious fruits of eternal life which abide for ever.

Prayers for Joy

Lord Jesus, keep me abiding in you so that your joy may be in me and that my joy may be full. (John 15:11)

Lord, turn my sorrow into joy. (John 16:20)

Lord, cause my heart to rejoice, and my joy let no one take from me. (John 16:22)

Lord, teach me to ask and receive, that my joy may be full. (John 16:24)

LORD, you are my strength and my song; you also have become my salvation. Therefore with joy let me draw water from the wells of salvation. Your joy is my strength. You are my joy and my strength. Let me know you in this way. (Is. 12:2,3; Neh. read more »

Prayer - Section II

1. To pray does not imply that without prayer God would not give us anything or that He would be unaware of our needs, but it has this great advantage, that in the attitude of prayer the soul is best fitted to receive the Giver of blessing as well as those blessings He desires to bestow. Thus it was that the fullness of the Spirit was not poured out upon the Apostles on the first day, but after ten days of special preparation.

If a blessing were conferred upon one without a special readiness for it, he would neither value it sufficiently nor long retain it. read more »

A Practical Guide to Being Baptized and Filled with the Holy Spirit

This article assumes that you believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in unknown tongues. If this is not the case, or you have questions on the subject I refer you to the more extensive article here.

What to Do to Be Baptized in the Holy Spirit:

1. You must believe in your heart that Jesus Christ rose from the dead, confess Him as Lord, and give yourself to Him. read more »

The Grace of God

This study seeks to present a Biblical teaching of how we can keep on receiving God's grace, life and power in our lives, so that we can be what we ought to be as Christians, both in the church and in the world. We will examine the subject of what God's grace is, and how it can be received and applied in our lives. This will help us to avoid the cycle of failure, resolutions, repeated failure, frustration and condemnation which is a common problem amongst those wishing to please God.

The Problem  read more »
